Timestamp. 27 Dyo, 81384 With. Sydney For. Tira Where. In Watani, going to the Waterhole. Wearing. Casual button-up black shirt with stylish ripped bluejeans and black converses, a couple bracelets and a silver necklace. [blockquote]He couldn't remember the last time he'd been this far from water... and it really did make him quite nervous. So did being around all the other people. He was rather flattered when he met up with Tira again and they set up a date. Syd smiled at the thought, folding his ears back happily at the thought. It was enough to distract him for a few minutes before he realized where he was again. It did feel odd being in the middle of all the Pendragons and Lukuos, and of course there was always the lone arden or thill of another rarer species wandering around. He kept this thin, finned tail close behind him, slightly wrapped around a leg as he walked to the meeting place. Once he got there he stood around uncomfortably and did some people-watching. He figured he spent more time around fish then he did around anyone else. That was kind of sad... Before Tira showed up he looked himself over one last time, straightening out out shirt by pulling at the bottom of it and doing the same to his sleeves; everything looked fine and he brushed a hand through his unruly hair as it fell right back into his face. All was in order. Now he'd stand a wait. He wouldn't have to wait too long. He'd come a bit early only because he had to look for the meeting place in the throng of city-goers that were walking from place to place. And while he waited he though about what Tira might wear; he was excited about their date. She seemed very sweet so he was eager to get to know her. In a non-perverted way, of course. Though he wouldn't mind getting to know her in that way too, but he'd prefer not to think like that. He leaned back against a building and put his hands into his roomy pockets, casually glancing around for the tell-tale long, curly aqua locks he'd become accustomed to. She was no doubt a very beautiful girl, but Sydney knew there was a lot more underneath the looks. His finned tail twitched excitedly as he waited, curling around his shin and uncurling every few seconds. He could tell today was going to be a great day.[/blockquote]
Tira couldn't help but look into the passing windows of shops as she walked by them, but she wasn't looking at any of the products on display, but reather trying to configure how she actually looked in the dress she had decided to buy in the last minutes of their opening hours. The slightly darker cream dress was flaring and rippling about at her knees, and it's close fitting cut on her chest and hips was making her a little self concious. She kept touching her hair as she neared the square she was going to meet her date at. She couldn't help the girlishly warm feeling in her chest as she thought about him. It had been a long time since she'd been out on something other than business and with Syd seeming to be quite the "catch" - she chuckled inwardly at herself at the sea person pun- but she couldnt help but look forward to the coming night out. At the very least she'd come away with a new friend, she wasn't going to go all out and press for anything more than that - unless he did of course. Another ripple of excitement bubbled in her chest. Stoppping at the last window before she came out into view of the meeting point, she brushed invisible bits of hair down and smoothed her dress for the last time sorting out the delicate silver chain that hung down between her breasts making sure the crescent moon pendant wasn't hiding between anything. With a slight jingle of the small decorative bells that were attached to her ribbon and adjusting the small same coloured bag on her shoulder, she stepped away from the suddenly nervous looking thill reflected back at her in the window, took a breath and tried to walk as gracfully as she could into the possible view of her Aquabat companion for the night. She looked over towards she was heading, seeing Syd from the short distance left between them. He looked stylish so effortlessly~ And she still hadn't quite figured out how old he was supposed to be. Not that it mattered, but she was curious. "Syd!" Tira called out lightly with a small wave towards him. A wee nervous smile playing on her maw as she closed the gap between them. "You've not been here long have you?"
[blockquote]The Aquabat began humming to a tune in his head when, wouldn't you know it, Tira showed up out of the many 'dragons wandering around; when he saw her he pushed himself up off the building and a smile appeared on his gracefully aging face, causing his crow's feet to become more apparent, but his messy bangs covered any trace of them. "Tira! No, no, not at all." Not that he minded waiting at all; he had other things to do but he wouldn't mind pushing those aside for a bit if it meant spending some quality time with his new friend. It wasn't a big deal to wait there for ten or fifteen minutes, he found ways to distract himself while he waited. Before she could come the whole way over to him he politely approached her so she didn't have to go to the trouble of walking a few more feet. Once he was close enough he reached out and gently took her feminine hand and placed a gentlemanly kiss on the top of it and offered his most charming of smiles. "How are you?" he asked allowing her to take back her hand if she wished and tilting his head ever slightly to the side. He wasn't as nervous as he thought he'd be. Didn't know why but he was thankful he wasn't acting like a bumbling idiot. He didn't want to run Tira off. Despite not being so nervous he still had the feeling of butterflies flying around in his stomach and he hoped he wasn't being overbearing. He'd back off if she wanted to but he had a feeling the thill would be too timid to tell him to back off a bit. So maybe he was a little more self-conscious than nervous... he couldn't tell which was better. He'd settle down some more once they got to the restaurant and began chilling some. The whole time that smile stayed on his confidant-looking face and hopefully that would help her become less nervous about the date. Finally Sydney took a moment to politely look her over since he had been curious about what she'd be wearing; she had a very flattering dress on that definitely showed off her lovely figure and complimented her hair. He took notice to the pretty necklace and pendant perfectly framed on her chest and immediately became more flustered, the short, silky fur on his cheeks fuzzing up as he blushed. "You look beautiful," he complimented, suddenly appearing as flustered as he felt. He had to throw in a compliment to show her he wasn't checking her out... which he was. Oh, he was so old. It'd been far too long since he last had himself a pretty date.[/blockquote]
Tira couldnt help the blush that followed his perfect greeting, to say the least she wasn't used to being welcomed in such a gentle and butterfly enducing way. Her free hand came up to her necklace twining her fingers in the chain as she returned a somewhat flustered and shy smile. "Ah, i'm really good thank you!" she replied finding her voice again. Seeing him up close she started to remember many of the things about him that was making her heart thump that little bit harder in her chest. She could tell that he was at least a little older than her. But he had the most eye catching smile and that twinkle in his eyes with that tousled hair that just somehow, augh! She just couldn't find a complaint! It was while these thought were running through her head that she realised she hadn't taken her hand from his. But that was okay wasn't it. It was just hands afterall. Flattery got him everywhere, His comment on how she looked made her feel the hot flush across cheeks, her hand giving a tenative squeeze to his. "And you look very handsome too, Syd!" She replied after getting over the inital breathless response. "I feel a little embarrassed now" Tira laughing chipped in. "Will we head over then?" She asked sweetly, fixing the chain around her neck absently as she naturally smiled in return to his dashing looks. The square they were in seemed to be busying itself more as many 'dragons of all sorts were starting their own nights out and about. Apart from opening up shop here Tira hadn't really went out anywhere in Watani. But she could see why it was so popular, there was that lively atmostsphere around here without it seeming that it was overrun. "I think its this way to the Watering Hole" She said gesturing over to street just behind him. The street seemed to full of people going in and coming out of places. Groups and couples laughing and some stumbling about. Despite what was happening with fromina, there were alot of people still managing to have fun. Just like her she supposed. And for some reason she felt quite lucky to have such a nice company.
[blockquote]If you were a beautiful sound and the echoes all around She was so endearingly feminine, he loved it. He just couldn't get over how lucky he was. Seriously, what were the chances that he'd meet her in such a hectic time, then meet her again and have a date set up? A million to one, for sure. He was actually pleased that she chose not to pull her hand away, but he hadn't realized that he'd caused her to forget with his polite flirting. Either way he was happy. He didn't let go of her hand either and chuckled lightly at her reaction. Definitely in a 'you're cute' kind of way. And he didn't feel at all odd that there was probably a decent age gap between the two. Age was but a number, right? And they lived so long anyways. What would bother him was if she was like, twenty and he was fifty. That'd be weird... But he didn't know why he was thinking about that now. Just as quick as his mind wandered it came right back and he was back to fawning over his date. He gave an acknowledging nod at her returned compliment though stayed modestly quiet. He didn't like to brag, as he was a gentleman after all. "You have no reason to be embarrassed, dear," he said softly, his grip to her hand becoming slightly more apparent in a genuine gesture of reassurance. As she began to fiddle with her necklace he glanced down again but quickly corrected himself with a somewhat nervous smile before he nodded. "Yes." He tried acting casual because he had been so relaxed before, he didn't want to start acting all nervous now. He glanced over his shoulder when she gestured to the street that led to their date spot. It was a place he'd heard of but had never had the pleasure of going to. That and every other place around here that he'd heard of but never went to. He turned and, still holding her hand, gently urged her to walk beside him as they began to head to the restaurant. A lot of people were out and about... it was pretty much the only thing to do to bring morale back up after the attack of Arius and the fronima disaster. He'd been keeping himself busy too, but now he had someone to spent time with. That was a bigger morale booster than anything, and thinking of what could possibly come after this was just thrilling. "So have you been to this restaurant before, Tira?" he asked to make conversation since he'd gotten rather quiet. Then I'd be your harmony[/blockquote]
~Then I reviewed every frame and basic shape~ Being sneaky wasn't a particular talent of Tira's as she glanced down at their hands. She looked up at him watching for his reaction, before twining her fingers through his gently. She could hardly feel the webbing which she thought she would have made them unable to hold hands like she had just done. There was that little knot of excitement in her chest again, which seemed so easily triggered by the arden. She easily - if not a little to eagerly for her senses - walked close to him hands still together for the moment as they neared. "I haven't this'll be my first time here, Watani isn't my usual place to go about" she said simply. "i used to be based in aurius more, before that maniac destroyed half of it" Tira sighed rather wistfully. Her house had been one of the many frozen into nothing there. But then if it hadn't happened, she'd not have met up with Syd. "But if that hadn't happened, i'd not be out with such a nice guy right now!" teased Tira, bringing up the tone again. "Have you been affected by this magick ban thats been put into place?" she asked, thinking on how she couldnt use any of her learnings from her shapeshifting or her summoning now. "That's something, what do you do? i never had the chance to ask before" They were standing outside The Watering Hole now as they slowed down to just outside the door. They'd not have wait in the queue thankfully, she'd booked a seat earlier for them so they could eat if they liked. Going up to the podium stand inside which had a rather thin set thill standing behind it. She said her name, waited for her to find it on the list before another 'dragon - a yki by the looks- led them to a very cozier than expected booth. The C-shaped booth was definately built for two, with even sitting at the furthest ends of the c-shape you were no more than 30cm away from each other. There was already a complementary champagne sitting in a bucket of ice with the two glasses poured and fizzing away. It was very well coordinated here she thought to herself as she smoothed and held the backside of her dress to her as she scooted into the plush velveted cushioning, Looking up at Syd she patted the space beside her. "It's a bit cozier than i expected, i hope that's okay"
[blockquote]Time together isn't ever quite enough They hadn't even talked that much and already he could see a lot they had in common, besides everything just named earlier. He'd never explored Watani... of course that was because he hated being to far from the water he was so at home in. But now that he was here and making good progress with Tira, he figured he'd be spending more and more time away from the depths of the ocean and the comfort it brought. He kept his brightly glimmering eyes on her and looked down at this hands as she laced their fingers together into a more personal hand hold and it caused his smile to become bigger and his long webbed tail to sway happily behind him. And it caused his stomach to gently flip-flop and his cheeks to once again become warm and the short soft fur on his cheeks fluffed out again with it. He hadn't even held hands on half his dates, so this meeting was already breaking his normal boundaries and shoving him so far out of his comfort zone he was basically back in it all over again. He felt like a little kid who got all giddy over just holding hands like it was kissing... it sure felt as good, though he probably wouldn't be thinking that once he got to first base with her... but pervy thoughts aside. He let out a gentle old-guy laugh, that kind of laugh that you can tell he's thinking "back in the day" when he does it without him having to speak and let anyone know he was an old fart. It sure did feel like forever since he'd been in Arius... he was born in the ocean surrounding the once-underwater city, so naturally he was inclined to stick around there more than anywhere else. "You flatter me, Tira." And she really did. But any compliments would flatter this old arden, as he wasn't all that used to getting them anymore. Which just said he had become more antisocial than he'd originally thought. At the question he could immediately give a shake of his head; he was just a plain old Aquabat with no awesome magic abilities. And it wasn't often he got asked about what he did either. It gave him a chance to dork out a little and get the nerd out of his system. "No, not at all. I'm just a fisherman and, ironically enough, I study marine biology." He gave another of his smaller laughs at the end of his answer. "I tend to spend a lot of time swimming and jotting down notes and drawing diagrams--Oh," he cut himself off as they came to a stop at the door to their destination. He'd managed to get a little of his nerd out, at least. Sydney quieted down as they walked in and were led to their small, comfortable-looking booth. And he didn't mind a bit. He was usually one who didn't mind any contact at all and of course he didn't right now. Before he sat down the curious Aquabat gazed around with bright eyes, admiring the decor of the restaurant. Afterwards he sat down next to Tira and grinned at her, obviously very pleased with just about everything. Though he wasn't sure he was going to drink... maybe one glass, or two, if he felt like it. One thing he did know about this place was the gossip over how good the drinks they serve here are. So really he was kind of eager to see what the buzz was all about. "This is very nice..." He commented sort of idly before one of the waiters came and handed them some menus to look at; Syd nodded his thanks before picking up his menu. "We're going to eat, right?" he asked somewhat sheepishly. He hadn't eaten all day, so he was looking forward to a meal. And of course, he'd be paying, so Tira could order whatever her pretty heart desired. Once they ordered they could begin chatting again, so he wanted to pick something quickly and focus his attention back on his date once again. When you and I are alone, I’ve never felt so at home[/blockquote]
OUT OF CHARACTER:http://shadowlack.com/wiki/index.php?title=Aktrieor http://shadowlack.com/wiki/index.php?title=Apllea ~This is a world of dreams and reverie~ Tira picked up the menu she had placed beside her, her eyes looking over the top of them like she was looking over a pair of glasses at him. "I'm glad you like it so far" she said softly, looking at him for a moment more before he continued. She still couldn't find a complaint about him she thought to herself as she reached out to her glass of bubbly, taking a sip. The drink was sweet and easy going despite its strong percentage - so she took another sip for good measure. "If that's okay, i was thinking it might be a good idea to have a little something" she said in reply to him asking whether they'd be eating or not, she always felt a bit awkward -even now- about having things bought for her, at least she could buy any drink afterwards for them, which she was hoping it'd be a few by the end of the night. She'd looked over the menu quickly, looking for something light that wouldn't react with anything she might drink tonight. She'd had Aktrieor once, it was certainly something that went down easy. "Um, could i have the Aktrieor in the apllea sauce?" she asked, half question to the waiter who merely nodded and scrawled the order down, patiently waiting for Syd's order. Her stomach was really starting to feel nervous again as she placed down her menu at the furthest away point of the circular table. Another waiter passed by them at that point, filling the glasses of each table of sitters still with chamagne once again, and in Tira and Syd's case, filling them up from the half full, (slighly less in her glass after her sips) to having the stray fizz jumping out the top of the glass as it was filled to the rim with its golden colour, and then he went off to the other tables left to continue, leaving the bottle between the glasses for easier access. Tira took the glass between her hands shortly after he left, taking lots of sips till it was down to halfway again. The bubbles already giving a pleasant buzz in her head. "They shouldn't make something so potent, so delicous!" she said quietly to Syd, not wanting it to be too loud, but in doing so she had to lean in towards him so it would be heard. It was just after that moment she remebered the conversation she had started and not continued before they came inside. "Ah, about before you must have seen quite alot of marine life then. I only ever saw the stuff swimming about outside the old dome of aurius, but i only knew the more common ones by name" she paused "I was usually stuck doing business work before the accident in Aurius, I ended up missing looking out at the ocean, tis very peaceful especially at night" She said softly again but passionately, twirling the now nearly empty glass between one hand while the other rested down between them. ~Where I felt the stars explode around me~
