Woo! It's now Tria (Summer) on Ramath-lehi. All character applications have been replied to as of right this moment. If you sent in an application and have not gotten either an acceptance or rejection email, this could be because of one of three reasons. You a.) forgot to fill out your email address or provided me with a faulty one, b.) your inbox was too full so your application was bounced back to me, or c.) your email provider thought that the email from Ramath-lehi was "junk mail" and your application could be sitting in your junk mail folder right now. Now, regarding site updates. :) We have a new "http://shadowlack.com/etiquette.phpRoleplaying Etiquette</a>" page up for use in the In Character section of the forum. I suggest that you all read it over as people will be warned for not having "good roleplaying etiquette" in the very near future. If you have something that you think should be added to our list, just reply here with your suggestion. There are also new signature guidelines regarding signature sizes and images. When you go to edit your signature now in "My Controls", you will be able to see these guidelines right on that page. Those that don't follow these guidelines will have their signatures deleted. So this is your head's up to make sure that your signatures fit these new guidelines. ;) We also have a new affiliate: please welcome http://p214.ezboard.com/bkiawaeKiawae</a>! I'll have more information up about them on the affiliates page in just a few minutes. Their game is rated 14A, so keep that in mind if you decide to join. The last thing on my agenda is our new "http://shadowlack.com/forums/index.php?showforum=75In Character News</a>" forum. Here you'll be able to find updates regarding large plots on Ramath-lehi and get the latest information on what's happening in our world. At this point only staff members have premission to create topics in that forum, but that could change in the future. If you have any ideas for world wide plots (aside from Rapine invasions), feel free to PM or email me with them.
For the Roleplay Etiquette you could add something like making sure that when ever you insert a coding (For color or bold and such)to be sure to make sure that itÂ’s closed when itÂ’s meant to be. It makes it look cleaner. I guess I should cut back on by out of character comments ;)
Yes, updates are normally good, but in this case, not for me. I spell like s***! I know you know that by our numerious conversations, that I can't spell.
*Fighter voice* I like swor-- updates. *normal voice* Maybe it's a good thing that my sigs are all text and stupid quotes? ^^;
oh, I knew I should've read this. I dunno something always keeps me from (reading/watching/listening to) the news. I thought that Notice: thing was just for me like I did something wrong. I got scared. :( :unsure: :( :unsure: :(
Oooh, nifty : 0-) Yes, updates are good. I especially like the IC news forum. That'll make it (hopefully) nice and easy to keep up with all the general plots going on, figure out what's going on in the world at large. *grumbles on spellchecking* I do mine by hand usually (but probably misspell plenty anyway...). It just annoys me when spellcheckers complain about my character names and the like, heh. Well, I'll just add them to my list of acceptable words in Word, I guess... I do like the Etiquette page, though, even if it means more work for lazy me : 0-P It's short and to the point, which I think is a good thing. Makes it easier to read. And THANK YOU for putting weird on the list, lol..I *always* forget how to spell it. Somehow tattoo being the most commonly misspelled doens't surprise me. Um...some of those seems like usage errors...maybe a note added on "if you're not sure which spelling of a word to use, or aren't sure how to spell a word, you can try typing it into dictionary.com and look up the definition"? If you misspell a word there, it gives you a list of likely alternatives. *shrugs* It's what I do, anyway. *uses that site <U>all</U> the time when RPing...* And I'll be quiet now. o.o Yes.
Actually... I *just* installed Microsoft Word on my own computer. ^^' I've been having to look up words at Dictionary.com before that. So yes, Word is awesome... and I have been adding a lot of Ramathian words to it, as well as my character names. :] So yeah, doing that works well. I probably should add a thing about usage errors too. Erf.. I'm sure that I could rant on an entirely new page alone about what is what and when it should be used. I'm not sure if I should do that though. Would it be helpful to know the differences between all of words..? (The their, they're, and there, more specifically.)
lol it's like we're all coming here to escape from our grammar classes... I mean COME ON... people should know the diffrence between their, they're, and there... I'm pretty sure they do in fact... Maybe they just have to be told that they have to take a bit of time while posting to check everything out... and lol i sholud be the first one to be told that :)
Ah! *waves hand* I thought up another one! I've seen plenty of times (certainly not just here, either) people saying "should of", "must of", etc, instead of "should have" (should've), "must have" (must've), etc. Now that really makes my skin crawl. ^^; The mistake happens because the people are going phonetically by what they say, rather than grammatically. The word 'of' has no place in the sentence, "She should have told me what's going on." even though when you speak it, the "should have" is contracted to "should've" and it sounds like "should of". But it's not, I promise! Sorry, that's really one thing that drives me bezerk - and I've seen it since I was 11 in chat rooms and everything, and I've only seen it in the area of twice here at RaL, thank god. ('Cause I'd have a nervous breakdown if it were constant, ya know.) XD English teachers need to teach english! *shakes fist at english teachers*
Neh, well, TGness it *lets* you add words...the only real problem is when like today, I switch pcs and try to edit storyish things (RP as well as stories) over here. "No, it's Jeratho, not Jericho, you idiot! And MY name is fine how it is too!!" kinda funny 'cause some of my char names originate from typoes...heh...like Hesard. *cough* Anyway...that and the words like ummmm, ahhhh, eeeek, and hmmmm, which I tend to extteeennnd and my spell-checker hates. And don't get me started on that defective idiot grammar checker. Everyone'll have to look over *that* by *hand*. Should of bugs you, Zeva? : 0-D Hehe...those don't really get to me. You shoulda' told us earlier : 0-P Hehe. ...My personal pet peeve is more things like truly RAMPANT typoes and chatspeak. Chatspeak just doesn't belong in pbp rp, sorry o.o; Er...as for what'd be helpful for usage guides... o.o; I dunno. It's not something I get mixed up very often (or if i do i don't notice : 0-P ). Anyone care about... Maybe to and too? --Oh wait. Not a word usage issue, but I do see apostrophes misused a lot. OH! And its (as in, something "it" owns) and it's (it is); that one's almost NEVER correct. Heh. *looks at Elements of Style book for ideas* Chiz this thing is...wordy. Pretentious. Heh... but here're a few. Form the possessive singular of nouns by adding 's, whatever th final consonant--so it would be precious's ring, not precious' ring. All right is two words (alright is not all right). Gnar, bedtime; maybe I'll look more tomorrow.
