Stamp: 23 Tria 81380 Who: Kirios Private for: Veyri and shadow ^ ^ ____________________________________________________________________ Even the flame of his tail wasn't this hot. His tongue lolled out of his long muzzle, it was good he wasn't a dark furred creature. Otherwise, he looked at his hand, pure white as the rest of him. His robes were white too, only a tad dirty from the fact that the sandstorm was going to form. His eats lowered their tipped flops hidden into his robes. His neck disapeared under his robes collar as he felt a gust of wind blow his bleached fur into a dirty white. His silver eyes were shut until the gust disapeared and he slowly opened them, his eyes falling on something bizzare. His ears lifted with awe as he saw a large figure within the sand storm. He blinked and as soon as she opened his eyes it disapeared. His silver eyes focused then unfocused slightly. "What was that..." He asked the sky, he turned his head slightly and he sat down. Curios of what he saw. It was huge, gigantic but it could be the his mind playing tricks on him. He felt the sand overcoming his flame and he lifted himself to stand on his hind paws. He sighed and took a step, it was wonderous how this place came to be. But that was not why he was here. He needed to get across this place and having no other means of transportion he had to walk. But for some reason, no one walked his path aswell. He has been warned though, he did not heed. He needed to cross, his reasons unknown he just needed too.
Not being able to fly across 'cause of this blasted storm, Shadow had to proceed on foot. She had almost reached her destination, as the oasis up ahead indicated, and she gladly stopped for a small drink. She didn't take too long, however, considering there was still no shade and she was having to share with a bunch of un-welcoming camels and dangerous looking lizards. Her black fur rippled in the dry, sandy wind that chapped her lips and made her have to squint to see. She filled her container with water, hoping it would last her the rest of her journey. Using her black, feathered wings as protection from the sand for her eyes, she looked back to see a growing figure in the distance...
Qvysyc Riuuqroda did not like intruders, and as far as she was concerned, that's what the white and dark pendragons were. Never mind that they were in the wilds of the Uhai, removed the last dregs of the traditional Anubi community; never mind that she would be about as welcome there as they would be. They were not Anubi. They did not belong. The chocolate-and-vanilla mantled Anubi just had to figure out how to remove them. Kiv had known a sandstorm was coming and was making her way to an old shelter. Most of the deserts of Ramath Lehi were scattered with them, concentrated around spots were old trade routes ran. This one was largely abandoned-- it hadn't been restocked in at least a decade, but many of the supplies were still good and the structure itself was still sound. The lean, nearly malnourished tan female had topped a nearby dune and spotted the red and black one first, drinking at an oasis. The small white one-- a female? Part fey?-- she spotted later. The winged one would be able to put up a fight, even in the storm; though it lacked the goggles that protected Kiv's blue-cored amber eyes, it looked heavier. The white would she could probably take. Lifting her head to scratch her neck with the points of her transparent horns, the tan thill considered her options. She could take a chance on attacking and driving off the two strangers, she could leave them to wander the desert, or... she could walk them out of it. The first was chancy. She didn't particularly want to risk injury or even death just to preserve her privacy, and as much as she clung to the old ways, it made no sense for an exile to sacrifice herself to preserve a purity she tainted merely by existing. If she left them, they might stumble upon one of her caches, track her down, or even find an Anubi settlement. The best option, she decided, would simply be to lead them out. Heaving a sigh, the quadrupedal thill slid down the dune and called out to the pendragons. The dark one would hear her, certainly; the white one might. "Hello there! Do you need a place to escape the storm?" (OOC: Sorry about the wait, loves; some family stuff came up.)
Standing back up on two legs again after taking her drink, she smoothes back a strand of blood red hair, long in the front, gradually turning into a mane as it continues to the middle of her back, reaching her wings. Distracted by the ever growing figure in the distance, she doesn't hear the shouting of another until the third time. Looking back, she sees what appears to be a lone Anubi 'dragon, standing on all fours and shouting, trying to (for some reason) get her attention. Unsure of what to do, Shadow tries to remember what she learned about the Anubi race. They are an ancient 'dragon, very racist, and are still stuck in the old ways. What would this one want with her? It's not like she was trespassing. Only passing through. She finally decides that the Anubi doesn't seem like too much of a threat to her and decides to greet it. "Hello. I'm Shadow. What would you have of me?"
His ears lifted as he heard a defiance in the wind. His silver eyes looked off to the side, reaching the sight of two figures in the storm. He turned towards them, he lowered himself down to his front paws and ran towards them awkwardly, his paws sinking into the ever dry sands. As soon as he was close enough, he lifted himself, his ears lowered as he was slightly cautious of the other's. Their scents uncaught by the sand that nestled itself into his cavaties. He sneezed and he brought himself ever closer his silver eyes looking at both. He was now close enough to actually touch them if he dared any closer. He noticed one was of the religious pendragon, the anubi. He used his telepathy to talk to both of them, not wanting to waste breath in such a storm. "I would appreciate a way out..." He brought his hands back into his robes. His voice sounded soft, but it was males of course, due to a heavier tone to it. He looked over to the tan one, with wings. Shadow as she introduced herself. His silver eyes smiled, "I don't know if you want my name, but I am Kirios. I shall not ask for your's only if you want to share." His eyes looked at the anubi, it was strange to see an anubi by itself, but he was not to say anything, for it might actually be normal to them than he thinks.
OOC:Um, Kirios, I'm black. Not tan. lol. IC: Shadow, seeing that she has an anubi in front of her and another pendragon behind her, starts to get a bit nervous. She doesn't like being surrounded. But, she forced herelf to calm down, telling herself that it's silly of her to be so nervous around these two. She scoots over to the side a bit, so that both 'dragons are now in her line of vision. "Yes, Anubi. What is your name?" The sandstorm, forcing her to all fours so as not to slip, was growing worse by the minute. Or, so it seemed. "I do not wish to just idly stand here in the middle of a sandstorm, when I could be on my way finding a way out of this place. Tell us, what would you have of us, Anubi."
Kiv decided then and there that she liked the ghost-pale 'dragon and disliked the dark one. The pale one, Kirios that she'd mistaken for a female, behaved respectfully. He was still an outsider, but a polite one. The other, she demanded. With a grimace, the amber-eyed Anubi reared up awkwardly-- and very audibly-- into a crouch, paws spread and partially buried in the sand for stability. She didn't want to be lower to the ground than the dark one. "Obedience and respect, uypceqax," she spat over the roaring wind, addressing Shadow before softening her tone. "If either of you wish to escape the sandstorm, you will follow me." Without another word, Kiv turned around and dropped once more to all-fours. With ears flattened against the fury of the storm, she loped straight into it-- and straight towards the shelter she had been seeking before the storm. This one was less than a mile away from the oasis and hidden among a fall of boulders. She did not check if the pendragons were behind her.
He stood quietly as he waited for the other thill. Shadow seemed rather pushy as she announced herself. He nodded a quick hello towards the tan thill. He pushed his silver eyes onto the anubi as she spat some words of warning towards shadow. He lowered his ear's as the thill spoke to both of them. 'If either of you wish to escape the sandstorm, you will follow me.' He lowered himself onto all fours, his silver eyes then went to shadow. He smiled slightly "Come on shadow, It is rare to be guided by an anubi..." His silver eyes left the tan thill. He looked forward to the anubi, his mind wander a bit. In private speak with the tan thill shadow "What brings you here little missy?" He asked a smiled formed on his muzzle. His silver eyes kept onto the anubi, his paws once again sinking further into the sands. His eyes lowered onto her feet, which he felt a little jealous. For she seemed to be having an easier time than him. He ripped his paws through the sands as he tried to strike a small converstion with the anubi thill. "Are there more anubi at the place your taking us?" He asked softly not trying to disrupt any thoughts she had in her own mind.
Kiv glanced over her shoulder at the pale healer, front paws sinking into the disturbed sand as she lost her concentration. The mantled thill growled a little as she pulled herself up, the motions masking the broiling emotions Kirios's innocent question had brought up. No, she replied in an unusually faint thought-voice. There are not, and there haven't been for a very long time. It is an old shelter from a time when we were more numerous, but it is still a suitable shelter. She halted, then, in front of a cluster of three boulders. With a carefully blank glance behind her, she slipped sinuously into a gap between them and disappeared... into a dark, slanted stone passageway leading gently down.
'How dare this Anubi order me around?' Thought Shadow. Shadow could tell this nameless Anubi didn't like her. But, she could care less what others thought. I matters not anyhow. In the end, all you have to rely on is yourself anyway. Now, this Kirios, as he seems to be called, is a bit more interesting. If yuo must know,She mindspoke back, I'm an adventurer and a thrill seeker. I go everywhere looking for things to...spice up life. Laughing, Shadow continued to follow the arogant Anubi when, all of a sudden, she came to a stop. "Where does this lead, anubi? By the way, you never did tell us your name. And, sorry I was so rude to you back there. Being stuck out here is not doing anything for my naturally short temper."
His eyes lightened up with thought's of the anubi and the pendragon's. 'No, There are not, and there haven't been for a very long time. It is an old shelter from a time when we were more numerous, but it is still a suitable shelter.' Was the anubi's words, his eyes lowered as he felt slightly sad. He did love the way the anubi's worked. Seeing one was just plain rare it seemed. He then turned his attention to the young missy. 'If you must know, I'm an adventurer and a thrill seeker. I go everywhere looking for things to...spice up life.' A small chuckle went through his head. To spice up the life huh? He thought he then noticed that they halted at three boulders. He watched the anubi slip through and disapear. Not wanting to lose her, he quickly followed until he reached a stone step he heard shadow's remarks. "Do you want to stay out there?" He shouted over the wind's roar. "I know if it's a thrill you should, but in this storm I would rather follow an anubi who's probably been living in this place a lot long then any traverlers like you and I." He walked back to shadow, a small smile on his muzzle. Mind speak was now in play. "You don't have to trust her, but atleast trust me." He tured around, his tail wagged slowly as he walked back to the stone passage. " I don't think this one wants any harm to be done anyways." He said again to shadow. He then catching the glimps of the anubi's tail he followed her in.
Feeling slightly embarrased (but never showing it, of course), Shadow follows the two 'dragons into the cave-like shelter. Shadow felt much better once inside. It was cooler and they were away from the sandstorm. She realized that it was large enough for her to stand bipedal. So, she stood, shaking all the sand of her shiny black coat. She ran her claws through her blood red hair. Spreading her wings a little, shaking the sand out of them as well, she sits down somewhere, finally glad to be somewhere safe. "I'm sorry, Anubi, for how I acted out there. The storm was wearing my nerves thin and I'm certainly not known for my cool-headedness." Laughing, she continues, "So tell me, what is your name? And, Kirios, what brings you out here?"
Qvysyc glanced behind her, but remained silent as she padded down the corridor. She would tell them her name, but they would have to wait for it. As a child, the mantled Anubi had had a flair for the dramatic; she rarely ran into others and thus she couldn't exercise it very often, but now she had an audience. Not driving them off had been a good idea after all. In the meantime, Kirios could speak all he wanted. The tan thill stopped suddenly. The corridor was bisected here by other, danker one-- this one smelled of old air, of things left untouched for centuries. She turned to the left, followed it for another few steps, and was again presented with an intersection. A right turn, this time, with the scent of ancient things growing with every step. A quick right, left, and left again brought her to a blank wall. "Upad gux pba odseadp," she barked in rapid Anubian. The wall before her rattled and slid up silently, revealing a large, dimly-lit room smelling faintly of rain. A few old computer consoles lined the walls, along with scattered containers shaped like huge canopic jars. Various other items, refuse, even a cluster of statues and candles, lay scattered across the floor. The shelter. She said another word, and the room flooded with light. "My name is Qvysyc," she said while turning to face the other pendragons, "of the Riuuqroda tribe. Do not touch the statues. Do not touch the machina. You may open the jars, but only those with krit-head stoppers. They have foodstuffs in them-- salted meat, mostly."
His eyes wandered the stone passage, it was quite the etravagance he could expect. He noticed that shadow ever continued with the name thing. And since the anubi's did not answer he quickly answered her question with his tale's. But befor he did he stood up on his hind legs, feeling the sand drift off of him. He shook his head slightly his tail now revealed his tail under his robes as he felt the need to have some light around here. "I am a traveling healer, believe it or not." He said as he watched the anubi choose her path's carefully. "I have to get through the desert to get to the next place, in hopes my skill is needed." He was also another type of skill, he was a hypnosis worker, a very good thing if you needed to control something. He stopped himself as the anubi led us deeper until the wall was closed to them. He sniffed slightly, his nose filling with something bitter. He sneezed quietly as the anubi spoke her words of passage. The wall moved silently upwards and he looked inside amazed. "Wow..." He put his tail away as the room lit up with her words. Soon after she spoke again, this time revealing herself. 'My name is Qvysyc,' He nodded at her with a smile, it was nice to know that she was able to give her name to them. 'of the Riuuqroda tribe. Do not touch the statues. Do not touch the machina. You may open the jars, but only those with krit-head stoppers. They have foodstuffs in them-- salted meat, mostly..' Her words drifted off and he looked carefully around his arms wrapped around him not wanting to touch a single thing. He looked back at shadow, his smile kind and warm. "You hungry Shadow?" He walked towards a jar and collected three pieces of meat. He put one in his mouth, then using both hands he gave one to shadow then he offered the next one to Qvysyc. "Here you go, Qvysyc." he said around the peice of meat. His silver eyes looked warmly at her, his thoughts wander to how it must be a little lonely to stay here by oneself.
"Thank you, Kirios." Shadow accepted the meat and turned to Qvysyc. "So, Qvysyc, where is your village? Or, do you live here all by yourself?" She asked, trying to make up for her rude behavior earlier. Waiting on an answer, she looked around the room, interested in the things she saw. In her line of work, you get to see lots of interesting things, but, the Anubi are really something else. Rarely, is an outsider alowed to pass through their lands.
Qvysyc stared at the pale arden for a moment, hesitating... before finally gingerly taking the piece of meat from him. She'd always been taught never to eat anything an outsider had touched, but... well, she didn't have to eat what he'd touched. Gods, she didn't have to eat it, period. She'd caught the beast in the first place, skinned it, salted it. They were the guests. They were the outsiders. And she didn't like the way the dark one was looking at the contents of the room. Perhaps... Perhaps this hadn't been such a good idea, after all. By the time the storm had passed, they would have likely been lost in the desert, far from her territory and out of her fur... Well, maybe she wanted to help them. 'Maybe I wanted some company', she admitted to herself with a subtle softening of her expression. 'Then again, maybe not,' she continued, face once more granite-hard and unrevealing. She hated questions. "I am a nomad... Shadow," she replied, her pause implying that she had considered a harsher word. "My village was deeper in the desert, and should still be. I have not been back in a very long time."
He stood that way for a bit, as the thill hesitated with thought. She finally took the peice of meat, but soon enough he found out she wasn't going to eat it. His ears lowered slightly as he bit into the peice of meat. It tasted ratehr good for something being dry. He chewed heavily on it, lettig his mouth salivate so he can soften up the meat. He looked over to shadow as she explored the place with her eyes. He chuckled slightly, it seemed young missy was mystified by the anubi works like him. He chewed on the meat again his eyed wondering back to the anubi as she answered shadows ever lasting questions. He smiled as he spoke in telepathy to Qvysyc, 'You know you don't have to answer every question she throws out at you...' He looked back at shadow, now speaking to her, his words speaking over the piece of meat in his jaws. "Hoy shadow, why don't ya sit down with me?" He asked as he flumped himself gently on the ground. Careful not to be near anything special.
Hmm. A nomad. No wonder she's so rude. She probably hasn't been around other 'dragons in a while. Realizing that no matter her efforts, Qvysyc was going to continue to treat her badly, she took Kirios's offer and sat down next to him, enjoying her dried meat. The dried meat was nothing new. Traveling, as she does, Shadow takes some with her on her journeys. It lasts quite a while, so you don't go hungry. It was rather tempting to investigate all those bottles, but, she heeded the Anubi's warning and decided it was best not to, not wanting to make her more upset than she seemingly already was. "Hmm. Interesting. I haven't seen my family in quite awhile either." Shadow decided it best not to ask anymore questions.
