Heeey! Everyone back at school now? Are you loving it as much as I am? Well if you are I won't keep you away for too long ;] just want some suggestions. I'm currently taking a creative writing class and I our task for next week is to bring in a Beginning, one or two sentences max. So these are some of the opening sentences for my more recent pieces of fiction and I was wondering what other people thought. Which one of these leaves you wanting more? "The great men of the country had gathered on the day that was meant to be known as the Peace Treaty of 2385, however, it was never meant to happen. Although the day was filled with talks of peace, all it’s actions were countered by the disastrous acts of war." - Nano 2009 "A surge, like the surge of electricity right before the power goes out forever, that was the residue of murder. That was what she was here too look for." - Nano 2008 "If this death had been singular. If it had been corrupt, an act of hate or anti-government retaliation, it would have been the cover story." - Ramathian Eclipse Story 2009 "The sound of the trains always reminded me of my father, but I couldn’t hear that music right now." - Catholic Guilt and Lima Beans 2009 Whee, let the voting begin!
The last one =D The first two give too much of the story away already - too many statements and not enough left open. The third is similar, in a sense that it feels like the story's been launched into. Best of luck with your assignment!! And yeah, I'm enjoying it ^^ we have snow here for a change. I haven't seen proper snow for about 10 years. There was a brief spell last year, but nothing like it is now ^^ My first class got cancelled. My second class was fine - nothing amazing. My third class is tomorrow (or it may have been today but no one knows what's happening with that module). I've got a number of things to get on with (mostly 3D Modelling&Animating to a piece of music, and website building). I got the results from my first piece of modelling work: 76% ^^. I'm doing a Bachelor (Honours) in Digital Animation and Interactive Design. 40% is a basic pass. 60% is a Second Class Honours. 70% and up is a First Class Honours - the one where you can put the BA(Hons) after your name ^^; that's the real award. I missed one thing on the brief - to render an A4, high res image of my model, in a setting which makes the model appear as though it belongs there. Just rendering it would tick another box on the brief, raising my mark up to 86%. Successfully portraying the model in a scene could raise it as high as 91% (which also depends on the pixel quality)! Doesn't happen all too often in the 1st Year, from what my lecturer was suggesting. http://denizen-v1.deviantart.com/art/Ma ... -150162165 Not a perfect model, but still. Yes the chest is mangled XD dunno how to fix it just yet. Scoring about 90% will put my average at about 75%, in that "1st" region. So far so good. Staying on top of everything, but I think I've gotten a throat infection, so time to ODonOJB4ICtheDR.
My friend just back from Manchester and told me all about that UK snow and how pretty much everyone hates it or doesn't know how to deal with it xP My anthro. program doesn't offer an Honours option sadly, I have to settle for an Advanced degree which is just a 4 year degree with extra mandatory classes. It sounds like you doing pretty awesome then Alex, and it looks like you got the Honours title in the bag! Don't let that throat infection get you down! 4 it is, now to do the rest of the weeks writing :]
