What should we call you? Aliases are fine! Hey, names Gothmer.... You can call me Gothmer. When and where did you first start roleplaying? Is Shadowlack your first online play-by-post game? I have been role-playing for a quite some time. I started on D&D when I was 11 and soon went to Shadowrun. Those are the two main ones I have played, but I have played a ton. This is indeed the first play by post game I have participated in. It seems like it will be enjoyable and I don't have to bother gathering a bunch of my friends on a day that is good for all of them, which is never. How did you find out about Shadowlack? I am starting up with a few play by post RPs though. That is how I found out about this one. See, I am playing this Naruto RP Called "Era of the Shinobi" and I really got into the Naruto universe. I stumbles upon a Naruto play by post game and then shortly after, this one. Do you have any pets? I do have pets. I have two dogs. One we just recently got after my favorite pet in the world passed away. The other is a fairly old boy, but still kicking. What's your favorite animal, genre of music, or video game? My favorite animal..... dont really have one. My favorite music genre is probably alternative metal or aggro tech. My favorite video game. Hmmm, thats a tough one. Probably Dwarf Fortress. Please to introduce myself to everyone and I hope I can get some real enjoyment from this community.
Hi Gothmer, welcome to Shadowlack :D I'm sorry about your pet passing away, it's always rough :( Looks like you have plenty of experience behind you, I'm sure it will come in handy with making your first character and exploring the world we have so far!
Dwarf Fortress? Whoa, awesome. Do you play that game with any specific mods? I've watched Sadie play it a few times now, and I still have a difficult time wrapping my head around it all.
I apologize for the long wait. I am starting to get ready for another semester at college. Takes a lot of my time. To Lautir, Thanks for the welcome. I have been reading quite a bit more on the game thus far, and it seems like it is a very open world. However, it seems like it will take a ton before I will be fully familiarized with and understand the world. I am slowly working on it though. To Iversia, The most recent mod I fiddled around with was Masterwork Dwarf Fortress. It is probably the most substantial mod to date. I still have not explored everything it has to offer. Dwarf fortress has a ton of depth to it from the way damage is inflicted, to the crafting system. It takes a bit of time to get use to due to the slightly clunky, no scratch that, the very clunky controls and a lack of a tutorial. That being said, once you get adjusted to it and perhaps follow a beginners guide and do a bit of browsing on the Wiki, you cant beat the experience every new game you start has to offer. Anyways, I hope to find the time to get a character up on the boards sometime in the near future.
