Well, hello to everyone. I am surprised to find a site of this nature with any sort of activity, so I am very intrigued. Now, how should I begin this... Well, my username is Hatter because I adore millinery. I'm sure you were wondering. You may call me Astrid. I don't prefer to give out my real name online. I am an actress. I will be going to college for acting this fall. I love writing. It is one of my favorite pastimes. It lets me express my thoughts and ideas in a way that I can't do in speech. I love language. I am constantly trying to learn more languages, and am very particular about spelling and grammar because of this. I am not new to roleplaying. I have been at it for several years now, on paper, via text message, and in online forums. I have my own roleplaying forum based on a slightly fantastic version of the American 1920s on vampirefreaks.com. I'm here because I've been interested in trying out a roleplay with the anthropomorphic character theme. I joined a group for it before, but they were extremely illiterate, and I couldn't handle it... Some favorites... Color: Purple Animal: Ocelot Movie: The World's Fastest Indian Author: Darren Shan Authoress: Holly Black Actor: Johnny Depp Actress: Helena Bonham Carter Fairy Tale: Beauty and The Beast Muffin: Lemon Poppyseed Food Group: Fruit If you'd like to know anything else about me, feel free to ask. I very much enjoy answering questions.
Hello there Hatter! I actually thought that your name was from the BBC adaptation of Alice where the Mad Hatter was just called Hatter. Your reasoning is cooler :3 Welcome to Shadowlack!
Hahaha. Well, it very well could be, as I love that adaptation. I don't count it as a fairy tale like most, but Alice in Wonderland is my favorite fantasy story. Typically, my username is Mrs.Hatter. :P And thank you very much! Expect me to be quite full of questions.
People seem to like it so I suspect that I should watch it someday, I only know of it because of Andrew Lee Potts who I know for running around chasing dinosaurs in Primeval xD Bring on the questions, I love 'em!
Just a quick one, at the moment, and since I'm not sure if there's a proper process for asking questions... Haha. By way of character portrayals, are you allowed to use artwork found via the internet, or must you draw/color your own? I am capable of both, but was just checking in case of violations. I'm not good enough at navigating this style of forum to tell if there's a place where my answers are already found. And the description box? What can/should be there?
If it is open source images you want to use you are free to use them, if it's artwork created by someone else you should get their permission first. Just the standard copyright way. Description box is pretty much for anything, if someone does give you permission to use their art it's a good place to credit them. Otherwise anything you like. Within site rules of course ;)
Okie-dokes. That should be all for the moment. Is there somewhere else I should post questions in the future, since I don't want to spam my introduction with them? Ha.
Yep, the Help Desk is there just for that, it's generally the fastest way to get a reply as everyone will be able to see it :)
Okie dokes. I saw that, but wasn't sure how it worked... It probably says that somewhere, but I'm the most awful of n00bs when it comes to finding where certain things are already posted...
Hi Astrid, and welcome! :D Don't worry about being new. New players are frakking awesome. It takes time to learn a new site/game. If you can't find something though, or if something is unclear, please let us know. I'm forever trying to make this place more new player friendly.
