Tria, 18, 81379
There are new and exciting developments in the Koani Grader verses Okkatteiru Stormwing case, a skirmish that is now known worldwide. Last week, Ms. Stormwing's representative attorneys from Janardan summoned Ms. Grader to court, citing her for unfair prosecution and undue process of law. They also claimed that the assault upon her by Ms. Stormwing, which took place on the 46th of Dyo, 81379 in a posh Ajita restaurant, was an act of defense on behalf of Ms. Shriker, whom was jailed without official charges, or a trial by her peers. Ms. Stormwing herself blamed temporary insanity combined with a stark sense of justice for her friend as the causes for her violent actions. She was quoted as saying "I was being loyal to my friend. I had to fight the fight that she could not, due to being grossly persecuted by the lack of a justice system in her case." In a surprise move, Ms. Grader responded to the subpoena, appearing in court on the 12th day in Tria, 81379. The defense did not have a lawyer; Ms. Grader chose to represent herself. She defended herself and her actions on the stand, saying that she had had enough evidence against Ms. Shriker, a supposed serial killer, and that a trial by jury would have been a waste of the judicial system's time. The Janardan prosecution tore her testimony apart during the cross examination. By the end of the day, a verdict had not been reached. Anonymous tips thought to be coming from government officials, perhaps the Council of Twelve itself, have said that a large cash settlement was reached outside of court the next day, and that the case is settled. Ms. Grader is quoted as having said, "It's over" to an overzealous reporter. Indeed, it must be: the same day, both Ms. Stormwing and Ms. Shriker were cleared of all charges and were released from where they were being held, Krokino Prison in the Tmu Desert. A top financial expert estimates the monetary sum rewarded to the pair to be "enormous. They'll almost definitely be financially comfortable for the remainder of their lives." The exact amount, and what the thills plan on doing with the funds, is unknown.
Be the first incredibly rich ex-convict celebrities. I wonder if they can walk the streets normally now, without being recognized or pestered. Or MOBBED! Not that Kakos ever goes out anyway.
Well, a little publicity could be a good thing, especially in the criminal sense, nobody can prosecute a celebrity these days, I'm pretty sure the two can commit all sorts of fabulous crimes while under the celebrity act. :D
