Day ~ 43rd Month ~ Dyo Year ~ Year 2 Characters ~ Naedalya and Diable (from two different points of view) In Character Diable entered the school from the backyard where his fighting and forms class had been. He walked through the school, bumping shoulders with other students as he walked against the crowd. He began snarling deeply and bristling his fur. Others didn't dare bump into him anymore. A grim smile formed around his maw. His morning hadn't been very fulfilling, but at least he was getting his fun now. Scaring the younger nioties. But soon enough, ahead of him, he saw the large doors to the Courtyard. He pushed them open with his large wings effortlessly and stepped outside. Another large crowd of Pendragons, young and old, went about their day together. The crowd was, for the most part, composed of many groups of up to five 'dragons together. His eye caught glimpse of a few loners stirring through the Courtyard. Well, Diable had an hour to spare. He wasn't feeling very mischievous(sp?), so decided not to go pick on anyone. Unless someone came to pick on him, that is. He padded for a tree, climbed it, and rested along a branch watching everyone beneath him. --- Light breeze ruffled through Naedalya's ivory pelt as she took flight from the back of the school. She circled above the roof, her eyes shifting. Old boxes, chimneys and doors, all unnatended were on the roof. She landed quietly, her paws hitting the solid wood, brick and limestone surface. She took a few steps toward a pile of boxes. It surprised her that they allowed the boxes to be rained on. But, seeing that all the boxes were empty, she realized that the roof of the Janardan Academy was just a place to store unnecessary items. It surprised her ever more that this place was completely unnatended. Many Pendragons were able to fly and were very able to get up here. But then again, would they really have anything to hide? Nae gave up and realized there certainly wasn't much to do up here. She walked towards the Courtyard, the muffled speeches below her all distorted by all the voices seemingly clashing. But it was just because everyone was having conversations at the same time. Her head peeked over the edge of the roof as she watched all the Pendragons below her. She sighed boredly and opened her bag, took out a pencil and her sketchbook and decided to draw..something. Her lead danced over the page. Blades of grass, a tree, a river were all sketched onto Nae's paper before she gave up totally and threw it in front of her. She turned, took a final look behind her, all the nioties still playing together. Nae pushed her long, flowing burgundy spikey hair behind her ears and lay down for a nice nap in the sun. It certainly wasn't a warm day, but warm enough to not freeze if you lay motionlessly. Out of CharacterFeel free to join, or should I say, barge in on one of my characters. They shouldn't mind. Nafel, a young Pendragon, aged 15 00, launches herself onto the roof as well. She doesn't notice the other 'dragon untill she is already up there. "Oh... sorry. I didn't realise you were up here. Do you mind if I join you?" her voice is shaky, she is not very social. She sits and waits for a reply. The tabby stripes on her thin frame are shaking slightly, and she looks slightly frightened. Her head is bowed, and she is trying to avoid eye contact.
Nae raised onto her haunches, her tail wrapping around her slim midriff in contemplation. She stared at Nafel for a moment and lowered her head to make eye contact. Her chin almost touched the ground. "Why so shy?" She reached out slowly with a pand and lifted Nafel's face up by the chin. "Of course I don't mind. It's not my roof..." She turned and quickly stuffed her sketchbook into her bag. "So..what are you up to this morning? It's almost lunchtime. I'm getting hungry. Right now its my free block...and my brother must be somewhere down there too." She peeked over the edge but couldn't find him. She shrugged and turned back to Nafel. Nae was feeling quite talkative.
Nafel blushes, her cheeks turning a light pink. "I'm sorry, I'm not very used to being around so many people here... I grew up mostly alone. What's your name...?" Nafel is glad that she's friendly, it's all for the best. She looks up into Nae's eyes. She feels more at ease now, since the 'dragon is nice.
"That's alright, don't worry about it. My name is Naedalya, but you may call me Nae if you prefer it." Nae smiled and raised her eyebrows. "So..what classes do you take here? I just finished a fighting class. After lunch, I'm taking Aerobatics and then poisons with my brother." Nae said to spark a conversation. She stretched out her impressive leathery dragon wings to their largest. Without them, she would look really cute. But she is actually quite proud of them and liked showing them off. Since she didn't like making herself look like a showoff, she yawned lazily to make it appear as if she was simply weary from boredom.
Nafel smiles. "Nae then? A pretty name. Nice wings, by the way. she smiles and examines them, as she spreads her own jet-black feathered wings. "As for classes, I have one morning class in Ramathian, one morning class in Elemental magic, then lumch, then I take Musical Theory and Technique, Musical Composition, and my last class it Hunting. Is poisons class interesting?" She cocks her head and takes a more comfortable seat on some sun-warmed roof. "I've always wondered how it would be to take a poisons class."
"Oh, thanks." Nae smiled again and listened attentively to Nafel. "Interesting classes. But I'm more into classes that don't give a lot of homework." She chuckled a little bit. "Oh, to tell you the truth, I've stopped going to school for quite a while and today is my first day back with my brother. So I can only tell you about the Poisons class after school." She stepped to the edge of the roof. "Wanna go inside, eat lunch in the cafeteria, then go for a flight around the flying tracks? (A winged pendragon's equivalent to a racing track, I guess..:D) Your wings look awfully nice. I don't really like mine, they're too..oh..masculine, you know? Heh. It's lunchtime, after all." She pointed down to the Courtyard to a few students eating their lunches. Nae's lunch was in her locker.
Drak wandered the halls of Janardan heading for the Courtyard. He was looking over some notes he had taken in a healing class. Â He was anxious to perfect his healing techniques, for he knew it would come in handy sooner or later. As he left the academy and entered the courtyard, he looked around for a place peaceful enough to study. He found a tree, and took his bag with him underneath the shade and kept looking over his notes. Drak had a strange feeling that someone was nearby, and looked up. He saw a Pendragon that he seemed to remember. Where have I seen this Pendragon?... he thought as continued to look over his notes, making sure not to stare. OOC: This is assuming Drak knows Diable from Ajita Mainland. I wasn't sure if this took place after the even there since they didn't Time Stamp, so if this happens before then, just tell me and I'll change it.
Nafel smiles. "Sure, I'd love to eat lunch! I haven't been to the flying tracks yet, not near enough time." She grins and grabs her book and stuffs it into the leather pouch held on her chest. "I've already got my lunch, do you have to go get yours?" She stands and flexes her wings. "Thanks! I like your wings too, they're nifty. They look... powerful, you know?"
Out of Character Heh, well assuming this is happening a few months later, I think its alright. Back in Character Diable yawned and looked down at the newcomer. Hey, wait a minute. That's..Drak. He blinked. Well, many Pendragons do come here..so it's not that big a coincidence. But Diable was still unsure. So he didn't bother saying anything. Maybe if he attracted his attention somehow? Diable turned his head the opposite way, towards the fence. (the tree stood right beside a fence) He himself was unsure if Drak had noticed him. So Diable had to decide on something that would attract the 'Dragon's attention without making it obvious. He stretched along the branch, yawned loudly and let his wings fall all the way down, causing a breeze that most likely hit Drak's head. --- "Yea, I have my lunch in my bag." Naedalya said, pulling a blue lunchbag out of her school bag. She reached in and pulled out a sandwich. "Well, I guess we can just eat here. The cafeteria must be really crowded right now, about half the students aren't in the Courtyard anymore." She took a big bite from her sandwich, and swallowed quickly. "Yea, I got my parent's wings. They were professional aerobats."
Nafel sits and takes out a lunch from her bag of dried meat ond some juice. Okay, lets eat up here. Your parents were aerobats? That must be really cool. I got my father's wings, or at least that's what my mom always said. His were dark red though. So what did your parents do?" she looks curious, her thoughts were sparked.
As Drak continued to look over his notes, the Pendragon's wings fell down towards the ground, and made his papers fly away. Drak stood up to fetch them, and as he was heading back, he looked up, and got a better view of the other Pendragon. He was almost sure. It was either Diable, or Diable had a twin Drak knew nothing about. He decided to get Diable's attention. "Hey there! Do you know the date?" Drak asked, even though he knew the answer.
"Oh..well, my parents were performing as a duo one day and during the show, they crashed. It was back when I was 6 00, though. But I remember it. So they lived, but maimed for life and could no longer take care of my brother and me. So...yea." She sat up slightly but lowered her head, and took a final bite from her sandwich. She closed her bag and set it beside her. "Well I'm ready when you are."
Nafel looks slightly downcast at hearing this news. "Oh... I'm sorry. I didn't know..." Trying desperatly to change the subject, she moves on to her other comment. "I'm ready, do you have to go back to class now, or can you stay out for a little longer?" she smiles hopefully. "Maybe tell me about your poisons class? It sounded neat."
Diable looked down, yawned again. His eyes widened. "Hey, Drak!! Yea, its Dyo 43rd." He acted as shocked as he possibly could. "Weird coincidence, no?" He chuckled quietly, then blinked sarcastically. After jumping off his branch and landing quite lazily, he asked, "What are you up to?" --- "Oh, it's alright. Don't worry about it." She looked slightly downcast herself, but shook it off. "Nope, I still can stay out here until lunchtime's over. I haven't had a poisons class yet..."
Drak smiled back at Diable. He was happy to see that Drak was still alive and well. It wasn't often he met someone he knew with such a large number of students enrolled in the academy. "Long time no see!" Drak said enthusiastically, "I'm just continuing my studies here. Still alive and well, as you can see. I didn't know you came here, and I almost thought I had gone crazy when I saw you on the tree. How are you doing?"
Nafel looks happy that her current companion can stay for a while longer. "So... what do you want to do for our remaining break? She smiles impishly. "Up for a game of... say... tag? Air tag? I'm quite the speed-deamon, if I do say so myself. She gets up and packs her things into the pouch strapped across her chest and back.
"I'm doing alright, thanks. Good to see you well too." Diable yawned again, totally unaware of the time. He himself was also quite surprised to see him here. "Ugh..what time is it?" --- Naedalya smiled. "I LOVE air tag." She put the bag on her back. It strapped around her shoulders and buckled at her waist, ensuring that it wouldn't fall off. She got up and stepped to the edge of the roof. "I'll be 'it' first, okay? Unless you want to," she said, spreading her wings.
Nafel assumes the same position as her friend, a few feet further down the roof. "Naw, you can be it... That is if you can catch me!" With that she plunges off the roof and shoots up, moving like a fish in water. She does a turn in the air, and looks to see if she's being followed by "it". Seeing her presuit, she flies over one of the trees, trying to get in a place it's diffucult to follow one in. She grins, happy to play.
Naedalya pounces into the air, gliding upwards. As her glide begins dying out, she picks up speed with her wings. She lunges for the tree, squinting her eyes to protect them from twigs. "I'm going to catch you!!!!" she yells, flying out the other side of the tree. With that, she straightens her body, and like a winged arrow, she shoots for Nafel. She closed in on her from slightly above, and figuring she was close enough, she swiped her paw through the air at Nafel's back. With that attempt, which she was pretty sure had touched her, her reflexes kicked in immediately. She shot upwards into the sky, twirling as to avoid Nafel coming back at her.
