OOC: 24 Dyo (Spring), 81380 Who: Melissa Tayler IC: Melissa knelt down a good distance from the water yet still close enough to see. She had her bass in her lap, one hand holding the handle in her left hand. She held her other hand in front of it, gently strumming against the strings. It wasn't really any particular tune, she was merely playing with the notes to see what she could come up with. So far, she seemed to like the random tune, just so deep and mellow. She sighed lightly. Why is it that whenever she came here there was noone around to talk to? Must just be her bad luck. "Oi" She said lightly. Then she adjusted the position of her bass and strummed the strings...hard. It actually somehow managed to hurt her fingers. "OUCH" She said, and stuck her finger in her mouth. "I guess that really wasn't a good idea."
[Character: Warren Cross] Not too far off the gleaming lake, another figure was minding his own business. The neon orange color of his skin was so visble, you'd think he was the sun himself. "This dust is killing me..." Warren had been taking a walk, drumming away at the air as he hummed to himself. Apparently, his little routine of a dance caused the dirt to kick up right at his face. It took him a good few minutes to focus on vision and where he was going. That nearly caused him to run into a tree. Pretty sad, eh? Lucky me, he thought. He padded over to the lake, dropping down on his knees and splashing clean, cool water into his face. Most importantly his eyes.
Melissa waved her hand in the air, attempting to get off the sting of her fingers getting caught in the strings like that. She looked up and noticed someone not far off. She blinked. "EH!" She called "Don't you know theres supposed to be a MONSTER in there? Of course, it's probably all myth, but who knows?" She blinked and took another strum, obviously gentler this time. She hummed lightly to the sound and grinned.
Warren's ears perked up as he heard her call, slowy gazing up to confirm if someone was there. He confirmed correctly. Rising back up to a normal sitting position, he blinked stupidly. Monster? In the lake? What was she going on about? Either way, he stopped paying attention to that - and took notice to her playing. He smirked about it. He liked it. "Monster eh? Myth I'd say!" He again rose back to his feet, slighty walking toward her direction. "Besides, it wouldn't dare try coming up now. If it knows what's good for it!" He made a small fist fight gesture, though even he himself knew, he probably wouldn't stand a chance.
Melissa snickered lightly. "Show off" She said and laughed. "Silly boy" She held up her bass a bit, and actually began to play a tune. Sort of rock-ish but aswell quite random. After a few seconds she stopped. "Eh, don't mind this thing" She said "It may not be glamorous but it works" She layed her arm on the top of it. "So, who are you?" She asked casually, grinning.
"You can call me Warren." He made himself a seat close to her. Not too close though. From what he knew, you could get yourself a nice slap to the face going into a girl's private space. He wasn't going to take that risk today! "And you are??" He kind of hoped she hadn't stopped playing. Especially her rock tune. He could take any type of music into his head and like it. Even classic - ironic for a drummer.
"I'm Melissa" She said. "So, what strikes your fancy? Warren-Chan? Warry-Pi?" She snickered again. "Or maybe how about 'GigglewuffleWarrysnout?'" She grinned widely at the little pet names she could think up. "Oh man, thats priceless"
If this were the world of cartoons, Warren's eyes would probably be the size of basket balls right now. Though, with his sense of humor, he couldn't help but burst out a laugh too. "Okay, Warren-Chan could work, but please. Not that last one!" He finally got control over himself, a smile still traced on his face. "Your lucky I can't think of one for you now. Just you wait!"
"Ok, I will wait" She said with a laugh. "Hah, its SO nice to meet someone with an actual sense of humor. Kyaa!" She grinned. "Not like anyone else I've ever met. YOU actually smile" She grinned. "So, where ya from?" She asked, out of keen interest. Lately she had been asking alot. OOC: Oh Noes its the....short post of DOOM
OOC: Hope y'all don't mind me joining... :D IC: Skye loved this lake, it was her place. Well usually it was, usually there weren't many people and that was what Skye liked, swimming alone, getting out and then flying low over the water letting her paws touch it every once and a while. Skye heard something and looked out through the trees making sure she kept hidden. Looks like today this lake isn't only my place. Two 'dragons were sitting on the shore laughing together. For a moment Skye considered leaving, she wasn't sure if they were a couple and if so she didn't want to bother them...but yet they weren't sitting THAT close... Skye stood watching for only a moment not wanting to eavesdrop and then walked over to them. Skye at times can be shy with strangers and this was one of those times. She walked over and then said somewhat tentively Hope I'm not intruding... Though it was a statement it sounded more like a question. Skye didn't want to sit down, not yet.
"Oh HELLO" Said Melissa with a smile. "Nah, you arent intruding. I was just conversing with Warry-Chan here about some random crap." She smiled at the newcomer. "Oh...Not many people come here as I have seen...maybe I just come at bad times." She snickered. She held up her bass again and began to strum the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. A strange choise of tune nonetheless, but still, she loved it.
Skye couldn't help laughing. She sat down, her back facing the water. She listened to the female play her bass, she was pretty good, not that Skye knew anything of music, she couldn't even carry a note in singing, let alone on an instrument. I'm Skye. So you are Warry-Chan, and you are...? Skye assumed that the thill had been joking about the male's name (who would have sucha strange one anyway?) and decided on continuing the joke, smiling inwardly at what the 'Warry-Chan' must have been thinking...
OCC: n_n; Sorry for my sudden disappearance, Julie! That took awhile. >_> IC: Warren had finally snapped out of his trance, taking notice of the newcomer who happen to arrive at the right time. At least she covered him for the last few moments. "Hey..." He began in a singsong voice, smirking at her carefree nature. "It's Warren, for one thing. Missy here loves to mess with people's names." He glared playfully at Melissa. "Nice to meet you though, Skye."
Skye laughed, poor Warren. She wasn't sure what she should say so she asked one of those standard questions, So, what brings you two to the Magi Lake? OOC: sry for the short post!!
"I always come here" Said Melissa with a smile. "Its the only place that I can come to practice my bass without some 82 year old guy running around yelling at me to turn down that racket" She laughed. "It's true. It happens ALL THE TIME." She strummed once more on her bass, letting the low vibrating sound go. "Eh heh, I loves me bass"
Skye laughed again. She realized, childishly, that she loved to laugh. I don't doubt it. But you play really well. What about you Warren? Skye looked around it was pretty here. That was probably why she cam so often, not only that but there was a nice breeze when you were flying above the lake.
Still satisfied of Melissa's playing, he adjusted the rag on his head to loosen out his ears. It was sometimes a pain to have them forced down all the time. "Me? Drums are my thing. Just give me a stick and some flat surface, I'll play tunes from anything!" On cue, he twirled out one of the many drum sticks he always seems to carry. Either it was for spares, or he seriously did try to drum on any surface. "And you? Any musical talents?" He asked, raising a small brow of interest at her trance coming from the lake. Couldn't blame her, the place really was peaceful.
Skye watched, interested as Warren pulled out a few drumsticks. She had always wanted to learn the drums, but music just never seemed to be her thing. She did recall a few lessons witha grumpy teacher who had absolutely no patience and within a few days quit because she 'couldn't do any notes and just wasn't musically inclined'. Ha. Me? Drums? Music? No way. I am in no way in tune...even in singing.
Melissa watched the conversation intently, her eyes moving from one person to the next. She smiled lightly, gently plucking the strings of her bass as she went on. "Khuhuhu." She laughed lightly "You play on any surface, EH? Hmm...Why don't you try the back of my bass?" She flipped it over carefully. "Go on. Just be careful. Show me you can play anything hehe." She cocked her head to the side and grinned.
