<table class=ooc><tr><td>First things first, The rules are located http://genetics.shadowlack.com/Comp-Flitter.phphere</a> and should be consulted even though I'll be explaining things as we go along.

All characters would have received a copy of the Entry Catalog, so that they would have the names and registration numbers and owners of all the birds in the show, and would know who to contact if they saw a bird they liked for breeding.

Oh, and Dragon Guardian: This is timestamped the 47th, so you'd have the bird of yours I took for breeding back.

Categories will be judged in Catalog order, IÂ’ll do all of Solid Primary in one post, and youÂ’ll get to see how theyÂ’re done.
After my big post, the player of Thi will need to RP their cage setup (the birds are show in cages on ‘Benches’ and the judge goes to the birds they’re judging) for the Pastel Category. Once Pastel’s judging is announced, the Players of Turrush, Fujjjeyj, and Paush all get to RP their setup for the birds in the Non-solid Category, and I’ll judge again. Further detailed instructions when we get there…. And to make it easy, Here’s a list of exactly what needs to happen:

    Turrush Setup Fez, Timber, Cannon
    NPC Judging of Solid Primary
Thi Setup Valas, Tom, Bupa, Ferun, Camek

    Turrush Sjoahaujs:
The black Penedragon ran his paw along the outside of the first of his cages befor opening itÂ’s door. With care, he took a small box and removed from it a tiny white bird with red eyes. He smoothed the feathers and checked for any harm that may have happened in the journey here. It only took a few minuets befor the Flitter Breeder was satisfied that the Albino was ready for the competition. There really wasnÂ’t much you could do to improve such a light bird, aside from keep them clean.

The next box he opened released a brilliant red bird into the cage. This time there was some serious feather smoothing involved, and after seeing the dust on the little birdsÂ’ plumage, a light misting from a spray bottle of warm water. After a bit more nitpicking, and another smoothing of the feathers, he was once again satisfied that the bird was ready for the show.

Then it was time to set up his final bird. This time the animal that came from the box, though not a canary, was canary yellow. This bird was as flawlessly clean as the albino had been, but was much more ruffled than either bird was, so a decent amount of time was spent smoothing the feathers and re-perfecting them.

    Ceva Ulrick (NPC FBS Official):
Ceva was an elderly Pendragon, but had been doing this judging thing too long to go in for a quiet retirement. She toured the cages for the Solid Primary Category, noting the presence of a rare albino amongst the colorful little birds. Despite the presence of the albino, Ceva had to let the Best of Category go to the bird with form, color was really a secondary concern. "Best of Solid Primary to Turrush SjoahaujsÂ’ Cannon." She pinned the ribbon to the cages door and shoot the hand of the large Pendragon before moving off in the direction of the Pastel Category Bench.

    <table class=ooc><tr><td>Thi's Turn.</td></tr></table>

  3. Thi had taken much care transporting her flitters here. She wasn't entirely sure about it but she kept her tan flitter on her shoulder. He wasn't entered in the contest though. She opened the first flitter's door and released a pastel sunkissed. She held him carefully and he closed his eyes happily. She smoothed his feathers down until he was ready for show.

The next cage she opened released her pastel green. He usually kept himself clean and had been grooming before she released him. His feathers were all smooth. a slight amout of dirt clung to his feather however ad she tapped them gently so he noticed them. He spun his head and began to clean them.

Her next cage held her recently impregnated flitter. She pened the cage and she flew out. Her violet feather gleamed in the light. Thi smoothed her feathers down. Tom had been run ragged within thelast week. Poor Tom. Thi took great care smoothing them. When she deemed her work satifactory, she placed Tom on top of the cage.

The next cage held her other fea. She wasn't as brilliant colored as Tom however. She was covered in dust. Thi sighed and gave a few squirts of water to the birds feathers. She smoothed her feathers down and kept trying to get te dirt off. when she had gotten all she could off, she placed Ferun on the cage and let Camek get he rest off.

The last cage held Valas, her first flitter. He had gotten old. She however opened his cage and he stepped out. His purple feathers gleamed however sullenly. He had little dirt on him but Thi smoothed his feathers down. he brushed the dirt off with a loving hand. She placed him on top of the cage when she was satisfied.

She took a step back from the table to allow the judge to enter and judge. She bowed her head. She was sure she might get at least one prize. Even though she was only 16 and a very new breeder.

  4. Judge Ceva:
She moved down the line of Pastel birds, stopping at each cage to carefully examine itÂ’s occupant. The entered animals were all of good quality, and good in good condition, so the choice was a challenging one. After reviewing three of the cages a second time, she made a few notes in her judgeÂ’s diary and picked up the ribbons.

"Second of Category, Thi RauosiÂ’s Tom'kjyttap. Best of Category, Thi RauosiÂ’s Bupa." After she pinned the ribbons to the front of the cages, she headed off towards the location of her final category before the Best in Show would be judged.

    Turrush:
Turrush readied his next birds to be judged. First was the lovely dark blue animal he had acquired a few months ago, with a dark black band around he neck and glistening feathers. He straitened her out, making sure that all feathers were in place and she was ready to be seen by the judge. When he was satisfied, he moved on to the next of his pets.

Little Vade was one he was very excited to see Debut. The Uncommon red and white mottling would make Vade stand out. He didnÂ’t know if the judge was one who approved much of the newer colors or would be one to favor the more traditional birds, so he took extra time to make sure Vade was in shape for the class. The little bird was young, so he was unsure of how heÂ’d stack up against the older, full grown, birds.

    Paush Setup Lina
    Yin setup Tangaj</td></tr></table>

  5. Fujjeyj walked up to the table, a single cage in hand. He placed it on the table and opened it's door, letting out a young female molten red on white piepald. He held her for a second just patting her head. Then he checked her feathers for anything askew. Teja'ni was relatively clean but for a few dust specks in her back. He took a mister and gently sprayed the dust. He then smoothed her feathers as best he could. When he was dont Teja'ni looked pretty nice. "Only way to make you look nicer is if we had some wax!" he said to her jokingly.

<table class=ooc><tr><td>o.0 I have almost no clue what I'm doing... neither does Paush... Excuse me if I'm in need of assistance.</td></tr></table>

Paush swallowed; he had to admit, he was nervous. He lifted the large brownze cage towards the table, the red flitter eager to recieve attention. He wasn't exactly sure how the competition worked, so he processed rather slowly. He gently set the brownze cage at the foot of the table, opening the hatch and withdrawing the red flitter. Her 'talons' clung to his 'paws', as he gently plucked the few specks of dust of her silky feathers. He waited for her turn as the bird began to stretch his wings.

<table class=ooc><tr><td>Quiet a good setup, though the bird goes back into the cage ;)
The judge comes around to the benches where the cages are set, and the judge looks at each animal in the cage, and comes to thier decision that way (it's not like a dog show where the animals are brought to the judge).

Don't worry about doing it wrong. Just take a peek at what me and the other entrants have done so far, and so something like it.

The judging is all random except for 'Best Color' which I plan to pick based on my favorite colored bird combined with role play quality.</td></tr></table>

  9. <font color=steelblue><blockquote><font color=silver>[</font> in character - <font color=darkolivegreen>yin</font> <font color=silver>]</font>

<font color=darkolivegreen>Yin calmly, gently pulled the cover off of her bird's cage. A fond smile curled her features as she gazed at the exquisite flitter. Of course Tangaj was slightly anxious, fluffing out his feathers and looking nervously from side to side. The slightest croon from its trainer's lips sent the docile creature into a more calmed state, though, as it shifted its taloned feet and stared up at the Sunhawk. Opening the cage's door, she reached in, running her fingers across the bird's side, feeling for any strange bumps or anything that might signify illness. Despite the fact that they were here for a show, she was going to be careful with her little magenta male. It was a relief when nothing showed up during her brief inspection. A light spray of the water bottle misted across his wings, little beads of moisture appearing on the pinkish coat. Softly running her fingers across his body to smooth the feathers and also dry the droplets, she closed the cage up once more, smiling at the attentive, suddenly confident look of her bird. A look that Yin also had.

  10. Judge Ceva:
Her well aged eyes scanned each cage as she passed, watching the bird for quality of build, good complete coloration, and lively appearance. Her knowledge of Flitters spanned most of her life, so she was easily able to spot some of the best animals in the class. that was the part that was more difficult, are more close examination of the stand-out animals, and then the notes of winners in her book. She then cleared her throat. "Second in Category, Yin Sunhawk's Tangaj. Best in Category, Fujjeyj Quentil's Teja'ni." Paws still agile for her great age pinned the ribbons to the cages with confidence. "Category winners have half an hour to report to the Final Bench with their birds for the Best in Show Judging."

    <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span>
<table class=ooc><tr><td>Basically, all that Turrush, Thi, and Fujjeyj need to role play is moving their birds from the Category bench to the Final bench for the big Best in Show part of the competition! Congratulations everyone on your placements so far.</td></tr></table>
    Turrush Sjoahaujs:
He carefully covered and lifted the cage containing his little yellow flitter. He had already saw to it that all of her feathers were perfect and she was dust free for the final bit of the competition. Without jarring the cage, he carried it down the rows of cages and to the small bench that had been set up for the final judging. He set the cage down on it with care, and pulled the cover slowly off. After one last check to make sure nothing had happened to his bird while they were moving, he stepped back. Not long now for the judging of the Best bird in the show to commenceÂ…

  11. Paush smiled; he knew every flitter was rather unique, but Lina blended with the crowd. He lifted up the large brownze cage to examine the bird more closely; it chirped excitedly. He and Lina realy shared a strong bond, and Lina was so domesticated, she never left Paush's shoulder hwen away from her cage. Of course she wasn't spoiled, but Paush tried his best to support the young flitter. But it didn't matter - Paush was competing for the experience, and for Lina's amusement.

Lina's round eyes gazed up at Paush. She looked around; their were other birds, too. She chirped, trying to make contact. Her cage was rather large, but she wasn't close enough to the nearest cage.

  12. Fujjeyj almost jumped for joy. He looked at the ribbon on the cage to confirm his joy. Yes it was true, Best in Category. He smiled happily and looked at Teja'ni inside the cage who did not seem to care. Carefully he lifted the cage and walked it over to the Final Bench. He placed his little bird on the table, opened the cage and brished her feathers down a bit more. He had gotten this far and he did not want to blow it. "Good Job Teja'ni." He repeated over and over agin to his little bird while stroking her feathers. She seemed to know she had done something right and cooed softly. Finaly Fujjeyj got over his shock and closed the cage up once more, waiting to be judged.

  13. Thi placed Bupa back inside his cage. She placed the others as well. Lifting Bupa's cage gently she began to pad over to the final table. When they reached it, she put a hand inside, gave Bupa another good squirt to get all the dust off, smoothed his feathers down and gave him a slight kiss. -Do your best Bupa- she whispred to him. -I'll still love you whether you win or lose-

<table class=ooc><tr><td>From this point on, itÂ’s free role play. Things like, Congratulating winners, visiting with friends, and the like.

Best Color (BC) was awarded based on what I decided was a good bit of nice colorful Role Play on the part of itÂ’s winner.</td></tr></table>
    Judge Ceva:
Ceva smiled as she reviewed the three birds she had picked as the best amongst their categories. They were not only wonderful specimens of good Flitter type, they were excellent representations of their colorations. Seeing them up next to each other, it was quiet easy for her to pick her choice from the list, and add the name to the showÂ’s record book. Once again, her throat was cleared. "Befor I announce the Best in Show, I would like to grant the Judges Choice award for Best Color. Congratulations to Yin SunhawkÂ’s Tangaj." She held the ribbon out long enough for the Sunhawk Pendragon to take it. She then held up the large, flashy best in show ribbon and continued with her speech. "Now, my choice for the Best of this Show isÂ…" She paused, for dramatic effect, enjoying the thrill of excitement that ran through the crowd of breeders eager to learn the prizeÂ’s winner. " Fujjeyj Quentil's Teja'ni." With great ceremony, the ribbon was pinned to the proper cage.<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span>
<table class=ooc><tr><td>IÂ’m sorry to YinÂ’s player if that seemed like a GodmodeÂ… But it was sorta needed ;)
Note on the judging of everything but Best Color : Random Draw. Check the Show rules for exact process.</td></tr></table>

  15. Thi sighed. Bupa had done his best. She smiled to him. He looked as though he was depressed. He gave him a loving pat. -It's okay baby- she said softly -You did your best- She smiled and carried his cage down off the podium and to the others. She normally didn't keep them in cages and they were showing some distress at being cramped up. She let them fly around for a while as she reassured Bupa that she was not Angry nor was she upset with him in any way.

  16. Fujjeyj could not beleive his ears. He had not won, but then why had another ribbon been placed in the cage of Teja'ni? He looked at the ribbon in surprise and then back at the judge. He looked at Teja'ni and smiled.

    "You did it little buddy!"

Teja'ni of course could not know what had happened. None the less she seemed exited, it must have been the ruckus and cheers directed toward her, she liked the attention. But she seemed to be happy in the light of the moment. Fujjeyj lifted the extatic bird from the table and examined the ribbon a bit. "Nice" He said to himself and the little bird.

  17. Turrush grinned and extended a hand to Fujjeyj. "Congradulations. You've got a lovely bird."

  18. Fujjeyj exepted the hand and shook it viroously, a wide smile printed on his stern face.

"I couldn't have done it without you. Teja'ni is just the result of your breeding."

He said with another grin. He had not done anything but nurture and care for the bird, but that might have been as great a contribution as any. Fujjeyj eyed the ribbon once more, just to make sure this was all real and would not fade away in a few seconds.

  19. "The breeder only does so much, showmanship is a big part of it." He chuckled quietly at the way she kept eyeing the ribbon, then turned to look for the other Best of Catagory winner to congradulate his student on her win.

  20. The excitement was fading, as Mr. Cell's nerves once again settled. Lina tried to stretch her wings in the contained space, but failed. Here you go, Mr. Cell carefully unlocked the hatch. The small bird spread her silky wings; viberant sunlight reflected of the red glossy color. He smiled; he looked around, sincere, and softled murmured, Congrads. There. All done. Better luck next time, eh, Lina? The Flitter seemed to understand, her round opticals gazing into his.
