Mia 22nd, Year 81380 Temyc was silent as he sat cross-legged infront of the small fountain in the courtyard. He wore average every day clothes that allowed him easy movement with comfort and stylish looks. On the back of his black silk shirt was a picture of a large red dragon with large brown horns and pure white spikes about its body. He breathed softly and evenly as his eyes were lazly fixed on the water streaming from the spout of the fountain. He had done his yoga and stretches for the morning, making his body limber and ready for the private lesson he was about to recieve for his finals that were coming up this year. His mind was blank as all he heard was the planet moving about him and the water flowing continously. He could hear it all, every disturbance of every part of this courtyard. His tail was laid upon his lap, limp. He normally would swish it when he was just idling about, but today it didnt show any signs of life. Temyc was ready. But apparently his teacher was not. He was late.
To say that he was awaiting just the perfect time to come out and surprise Temyc with fancy entrance would be a lie. A lie on top of a lie, in fact. Straken was running late, pushing up to ten minutes at this point. "Ah, what a beautiful day!" And there it was. That totally happy voice echoed up from the main building, coming straight from the mouth of none other than Straken himself. His wings, which were folded on his back, were covered completely by what looked like a gigantic hiking backpack. Straken was wearing a simple pair of Blue Jeans, and nothing more. He'd wear a shirt and make himself look presentable if he were to be teaching an Elemental Kinesis class, or put on a Gei for some of his advanced Fighting classes, but today, he was wearing what he'd normally wear. "Great! You dressed casual! Perfect. Rarely ever will an enemy choose to simply attack you after you've prepared for combat!" Once he was about ten feet from Temyc, Straken dropped the large book bag onto the ground. And, as he did, Temyc would feel the ground shake. Straken's hand came to rest on top of the bag, a smile still on his almost innocent face. There were a few rumors floating around that Straken possessed highly unnatural strength, but they had never really been confirmed... Straken's hand came to rest on the sword that was at his hip. Normally, he'd never carry it. Today, however, he was doing some private training, so it'd come in rather handy. "Ah, sorry I'm a tad late. It's hard to run with all this weight on my back." He gave a laugh, slipping the sword out of the loop on his belt and putting it against the backpack as well. "Hn, though, we should make up for that lack of running." Straken's hands came together in front of his face, making a distinctive slapping sound. Apparently, he just had an idea. "Let's go for a jog! I'm thinking five laps around Janardan should be a good enough warm-up. What do you say?" Five laps?! My damn... Sure, some of Straken's actual Fighting classes could have a good work out... but a Five Lap warm-up? That's just cruel! ... Besides, Straken didn't even look like he knew how to fight.
Temyc stood slowly, giving an slightly confused look but he yawned and looked at the walls around the school. It would be a lengthy run, but maybe it was part of the lessons. He was unsure that he COULD run that much but, it never hurts to try. He did normally waste allot of energy dancing at the dance clubs or just fooling around, but 5 laps? He was unsure. "Alright" he said softly. He was still a bit relaxed from his morning yoga and meditation. He was one of the few ardens who did yoga openly and was proud to admit it, but it was a wonderful exercising technique of working on both the body and mind. It would stretch your mucsles and allow for felxiablilty while easing your mind yet at the same time making it stronger, allowing you to make quicker and better decisions. He stretched his arms out as he yawned one more time then began to jog, slowly at first till his teacher would catch up in the run, then he would adjust his pace accordingly or until he got tired.
Straken clapped his hands together lightly, then opened one of the zippers on the side of his gigantic back pack, pulling out a blue bottle full of water. He then started jogging, catching up to Temyc. And, as he did, he tossed the water bottle toward him. "Stay hydrated!" Straken gave a smile and a thumbs up, then increased the pace of his jog. He folded his gigantic wings onto his back (which, of course, caused a few of those white feathers to blow into the air), and then picked up the speed to an even higher level. Hell, he was almost running! And, like clockwork... Five laps would come and pass. Straken came to a stop beside the rather large backpack, putting a hand on his hip and giving a little bit of a sigh as he did. Yet, despite what sweat he had worked up, he didn't seem overly winded. He brought the back of his hand up to wipe off his forehead, looking toward Temyc once more with a smile. "Ah! Now that's fun!"
Temyc drunk heavly from his bottle. There was saliva already draining from it so he had to swallow most of it down along with his drink. Since he was a pendragon he did have fur, but he had reptilian alikes within him too, thus no sweat glands. "Fun?" he breathed for a moment, looking at his teacher. "I guess...." he nearly rolled his eyes but did not. That was tough for him. He would run one lap, three at the most. Mostly though he was a sprinter. He watched the 'dragon for a moment "So whats next" as he finally regained his breath. "I already did stretches, but im willing to do them again if you need to do them..."
Straken was already putting his sword back on his side, before unzipping the top compartment of his bag. "Nah, I stretched before I picked this up." He reached a hand into the bag, then pulled out a cinderblock. And, by the sounds of things, the bag was full of 'em! He set it on top of his head, then did this with two more. He then walked over to Temyc, holding out a fourth. "Here, balance this on your head. We're going to play a game before I show you some of the more advanced combat maneuvers." Straken had this wicked sort of smile on his face. The kind he'd flash in Class, right before he picks a student to be the target of one of his more physical throwing moves. That totally sadistic glance that seemed utterly impossible for someone who looked like him to have.
Temyc held the block looking at it like it was the most frightening thing ever. "But um sir....." he went silent for a moment. His head was more round then the other 'dragons where, he wasnt sure he could do it. Slowly he rose the cinder block and placed it on his head, holding it there for a few moments. He was silent and then began to slowly let go of it. At first it wobbled then stopped. Temyc sighed with relief, then it fell nearly hitting his foot. "Holy Shi- Im sorry sir. My head is too round to do this...."
Straken watched as Temyc made the attempt to hold the cinderblock on his head, and then gave a bit of a laugh as it fell. And, without so much as a word, he crouched down, grabbed the block, and stood up. The stack on top of his head didn't even seem to wobble. "Ah, no worries. I'll just have to make a slight modification." He brought one hand down on top of the cinderblock, then gave a bit of a smile. Temyc could feel the air around him rushing forward as Straken pushed it - literally - against the block. And, by using this unique form of Elemental Kinesis, he was able to crack the base of the block, bending it upward slightly. "There! Now it should be much easier to keep on your head. Once you can balance perfectly with this, a flat block will be nothing." Straken held the block back to Temyc, bringing a hand up to catch the top block on his own head and slide it off. "However, you'll have to hold two at a time. Sure, it'll be tough, but it'll give ya damn near perfect balance in no time!"
