Quarter: Tria (Summer) Day: 7 Year: 81377 (3) In Character Soeli, a large, sturdy Pendragon shuffled between the students in the halls. Class was going to start soon, and being a part-time teacher, this would be her first time teaching. She headed for the gym because Tsupeon would be full today, due to a minor league Jemdrull tournament. Mats were already placed on the gym's floor, so everything was ready. Soeli was, in plain words, huge. At least two feet taller than the average sized Pendragon, so that's why she was perfectly fit for this job. Her body was well-carved, with only muscle underneath her hide. But she was by no means skinny. Soeli yawned and sat at the one desk in the gym - for her. She hoped teaching wouldn't be too difficult and that the students would be mature and willing to learn. So far, she liked it. Out of Character If your character wants to join, feel free. Soeli's not planning on going easy on the students, though..
\\ Anezka Ylinari ¤ #1, Female, 1000 ¤ Warrior (B) ¤ Escape Artist (B) \\ OOC: Mwa.. I laugh in the face of dang.. evil fighting teachers! Hahahaha-*coughhacksputterhairball*-heh.. \\ IC The young mouse brown pendragon child meanders slowly through the halls, on her way to the underground Janardan gym. She was told of a new fighting class, and naturally, had signed up. This bi-eye colored little gremlin was usually the happiest creature you could ever find. Little did many know that she secretly had quite a temper she could barely control. Pushed to limits, she snapped, and would quite honestly go postal. So in her training, serenity and restraint were two things she was working on perfecting. The gangly pup strolls into the gym, glancing around. Not too many 'dragons here, but one rather menacing looking one seemed to be standing alone. Better to guess than to stand here looking stupid, eh? Anezka smiles brightly and genuinely, she does love meeting new people, and trots over to the lone femal, her wings partially unfurled; trotting while having them tight to her sides was uncomfortable to say the least. "Hi! I'm Anezka Ylinari, are you the fighting professor for today's class?" the child smiles hopefully up into the face of her elder.
Sitting at the desk, Soeli looked at a clock on the wall before looking at the student. She pulled a paper from one of the desk's compartments and turned it towards Anezka. Then she searched the desk again, and took out a pen, which she placed beside the blank page. "Alright, please write your name and your age here. Since this is a new class, a new attendance sheet has to be made." Soeli paused and scratched her head. "Yes, I'm teaching the fighting class today. Please take a spot on the mats and warm up." The teacher became preoccupied with entirely re-organizing the desk to kill the time, waiting for the bell to ring. She would wait for more students until the bell rang. After that, she would begin warm-up, even if Anezka was her only student.
-Mist Sterlu- 1600, Female, Magic OOC: Oh! A challenge, lol. BIC: Mist walked quickly down the school halls on her way to the gym. Word had come to her ears that there would be a fighting class in the gym and she didn’t want to miss the opportunity to learn some new stuff. She also didn’t want to be late. She went through the doors into the gym. She looked around the room, it was quit big and there was already two other ‘dragon who seemed to be waiting. She kept walking up to the desk, she then noticed that one if the other ‘dragon was Anezka, who was in her other fighting class. She nodded to them both. "Hello. I’m Mist Sterlu and I’m here for the fighting class." She said, alittle more to the ‘dragon who is didn’t know and who she thought was the teacher. She took a seat beside Anezka who seemed to be righting something on a paper.
Soeli was glad Anezka could have a partner now that Mist was here. "Okay, Mist, write your name and age underneath Anezka's," she pointed at her, "to record your attendance. She will be your fighting partner today." Soeli rose from her desk as the bell rang. "Guess that's our cue to begin. Do three rounds around the gym and come back to your spots."
Anezka grins happily, taking the pen daintily from her new teacher, and begins scribbling her name down. She hadn't the most perfect penmanship, but it was legible. She passes the attendence sheet and pen on to Mist with a happy smile, then jogs over to the mats that Soeli had indicated. Ah, stretches. Wings first. Always first. Right wing, left wing. Anezka own wings were like that of a terran bat - soft fur covering five clawed fingers with webbing between, so each 'finger' is stretched and flexed with the child's already nible dexterity. She praces in place to warm up her limbs, then stretches forward and backward, right front leg, left front leg, likewise with the back legs. The mouse-brown pendragons continues stretching lazily in this manner, not wanting to pull anything later on in class.
Mist nodded to show she under stood. She smiles then takes the paper from Anezka. She was no good at writing with her paws so she used her telekinesis to pick up the pen and move it quickly across the paper and placed it back on the desk. Â She also goes over to the mats to do some stretches. Before she starts she hesitates for a secon then lifts her wing and removes her sword and sets it down to the side of the mat. She always had it with her, she wasnÂ’t a very trusting towards others but she knew Anezka alittle and often trusts teachers. Â She stretched out her white feathery wings and flaps them up and down but not hard enough to left her off the ground. She stretched out her arms and legs, bends her back a few different ways. Â She then sets out on her laps around the gymnasium, after three she slows to a stop back in front of the Teacher.
Soeli rotated her paws to stretch her ankles and wrists, one at a time. Then, she stretched her stygian feathered appendages as she began a steady jog around the gym five times and returned to the mat. "Well, we all have wings, so that's good. Maybe we'll cover a little bit of aerial combat today. But first, the basics. Call me Ms. Jadru. You can trust me entirely as your teacher today..I've never taught before so if I'm doing anything unusual for a teacher, tell me." She laughed a little. "But don't try to make me become your usual teacher or anything. I'm Ms. Jadru, let's just leave it at that." "First, let's cover all the basic stances. Imitate what I do as we go along." Soeli lowered her head and shoulders to the ground, allowing her elbows to rest on the floor. "This is a low stance, and it can be used to dodge blows coming to your head. It's useful, because it's easy. You just fall into it." Soeli stood upright once again. "Something done very commonly in battle are body slams, where your opponent will bump into you and make you fall over, thus rendering you helpless. Now, this is another variation of a low stance, where you lower your entire body." The teacher lowered her head and entire back, her legs still keeping her upright. "This way, you can stand up quickly once again." She watched her students imitate her.
Ooc: Sorry to post before you Zeva, it’s just that I’m leaving today. And I’m sorry to leave you both hanging, I sorta got all my coming and going dates mixed up. I’ll be back the 12th. Mist ears perked up at the sound of aerial combat. She liked the sound of it. She then nodded to show she understood. She was sure that she would remember her name for she was one of the biggest ‘dragons she had ever seen. Though, she hadn’t been away from home long to have seen many others. She watched the teacher closely not wanting to miss any thing. She then copied the low stance preformed by the teacher. She lowered herself, raised herself, then lowered again just to be sure. She had her wings slightly spread out to balance herself and to keep her more stabile. She then went to the lower stance. She also did that one twice before stopping and waiting for more instructions.
\\ OOC: Aw, don't worry about it! Have fun wherever you're going!! \\ IC Anezka was used to this stance. Being little among a group of older niotis, she quickly learned to duck and weave when a paw or tail was aimed her way. She drops into the bow, head low, snout angled upward, though. Front arms splayed out, digits spread, but claws retracted. Normally, they would've been out, but she didn't want to rip up the mat. Anezka then continues by imitating the second variation of the low stance, where her back was lowered as well, with legs and hindquarters still propped up some. Her wings, however, were something of a mess. She tried keeping them close to her, then unfurling them, then partial extention, both high and low. She couldn't remember how she normally did it, nor how the professor had done it just moments before. Usually it was just whatever worked for the moment so she didn't get clocked, so her wings had no set position. And with their being individual digits all on their own, she often used her wing thumbs and her wing fingers to grab or swipe at her opponent. But at this point in time, her wings were all over the place, and besides her solid low bow stance, she looked rather horrendous.
ooc: Yes, have fun, Lautir. Our font colours look SO nice together, dont you think?? @_@ bic: Soeli realized her students were very attentive. Well...this class won't be too difficult. It's a good thing I only have two students, too. The entire gym echoed her voice as she spoke, in a soft tone. "Very good. A few more stances and we're going to move on to actual fighting. Then, I promise we'll cover some aerial combat, you both seem to like that idea.." Averting her attention to Anezka, she saw her struggling to keep her large wings at her sides without them unfurling. "When I was a nioti, I had the same problem. My wings outgrew me. But I eventually grew into them...So just give it some time and practice, Anezka. Your large wings must mean you're talented at flying." She smiled convincingly at her students. Now, for a few more simple stances. Soeli asked the students to imitate her as she moved along to get it done quicker. Stances wasn't something Soeli liked learning when she was younger, but it had to be learned, and now, taught. Standing upright, she simply parted her front legs, where her claws unsheathed instinctively and made a clicking sound as they collided with the floor. Her claws soon disappeared into her paws once again. "Don't you two make the same mistake, you'll tear the mat for sure." Then, her hind legs moved backwards by a few inches. This caused strain on all the muscles in Soeli's body and they all flexed at the same time, making her appear larger then she usually was. "This is your simple guarding stance. The way your legs go away from your body make your muscles strain to keep you standing. You immediately appear larger, thus more threatening. And, you can easily pounce or fall into a low stance from this stance, as well." In an instant, Soeli made a huge jump above her students and landed behind them in a low stance. She turned at looked at them. "Told you so." The teacher returned to her spot at the front, walking between Mist and Anezka. That jump got Soeli in a mood for fighting. "Okay, we're gonna do some real fighting now..face each other. Mist, pretend to swing a claw at Anezka's face. Anezka, fall into a low stance from there, as soon as you see Mist's claw coming at you."
Mist slowly move herself around to have her paws in the right places. She did it slowly so that her claws would not come out instinctively. She could feel them start to move but quickly brought them back. She would not want to get this ‘dragon mad by ripping the mats. She could feel her muscles working to hold her in that position. It reminded her of one that she had learnt before. She watched in aw as their teacher jumped clear over their heads. She knew that would take practice if she ever wanted to do that without her wings. She looked over at Anezka and noticed her big wings. She knew that, from past experience that they worked quit well in the air. She also thought that she, herself was one of the lucky one for she could keep up to the growth of her wings. Not that she would get much bigger. Mist did the stance one last time before taking her position in front of Anezka. She waited a few minutes for Anezka to take place. She then swung her paw out at her. Not her fastest and she also didn’t let her claws slip out this time in fear of actually hitting someone. OOC:My computer is being nice for a while I better hurry.
\\ OOC: Loverly bloooo. (Sorry it took such a long time for me to reply. Lost track of the thread, my fault. ^^;;; ) \\ IC Anezka smiles at the warm advice from her professor, hoping someday that'd be true; and she would grow into them. She was still too young to see much of a difference. She watches as her teacher performs another stance and then flips around above the two of them. Quite impressive! She'd have to practice that in the courtyard sometime.. Before she knew it, as she wasn't that keen on paying attention to Mist (which was quite her own fault! ), a paw was coming at her. This, however, was something she was quite used to. Tails, paws, claws, even teeth, came flying at her just about daily where she was from. And usually being too little to directly fight back, the nioti was very good at ducking and weaving. As Mists' paw swipes at Anezka's face, the mouse-brown pendragon pup ducks her head down, and weaves underneath the flying paw in the opposite direction it was going, pinning her ears to her head to hopefully keep them from being clipped, to coming back to a standing defensive stance when finished.
Soeli had noticed that Anezka was daydreaming as Mist's paw came swiping towards her face. The teacher's jaw almost dropped when she noticed the small pup's sudden reaction and ducked, avoiding getting a hard hit to the cheek. "That was very good. Great reaction and stance. Mist, you try avoiding Anezka's attack now, just to get the whole idea. Then keep reversing the roles, and try circling with eachother so you get more of a feel of a real battle - where you wouldn't just be standing there, you'd be moving around." Soeli did the same with the second variation of a low stance, asking Mist and Anezka to pounce over eachother while the other would duck completely.
Mist was relived that Anezka had dodged in time. She knew that she shouldnÂ’t doubt her. Mist under stood what the teacher was saying and quickly went into a defensive stance preparing for AnezkaÂ’s attack and then being ready to take a swing back at her. She also started to walk around Anezka. Slowly just to keep moving and to keep ready. Ooc: Eek.. Short sorry
After watching and waiting for the two to get the hang of the mock-fight. She nodded at both of them. "Looks like you didn't have a hard time learning that. This looks like it comes naturally to you." Soeli looked at the clock that was set up high on the wall. She thought over today's lesson and went over everything she had been planning to teach in her mind. Since today was the first class, basics was all that needed to be taught..So she told the students to take flight and circle the top of the gym a few times to get used to how much space they had. "Dont bump into the light fixtures, just get used to where the walls are and such, I'll be right back." She walked into the gym's storage room and closed the door. She was pretty sure the students knew what was awaiting them. Soeli _had_ promised them, right? She wasn't one to break promises.
Mist started to flap her white feathery wings. She was used to flying in strong winds but here in the gymnasium there wasnÂ’t much for air movement so it took her a little longer to get air born. Once she was up she just barley missed a light fixture that the teacher had just said to look out for. She hadnÂ’t looked up before she took off. She started to fly around to get the layout of the ceiling and falls. If they were going to be fighting up here she would have to get the feel of how much room she had to work with. Mist looked down to where Soeli had entered the closet. She started to wonder what she was going to take out. She kept flying around waiting for the other two to take flight.
DarkWolf bristled in antipication for the fighting class in the gym. he hoped he wasnt too late to join in. DarkWolf thought of everything he already mastered when he was young. taught by his fatther, now dead. " i wonder what this class is gonna teach, i already know most of everything" he thought to himself. DarkWolf rushed through the gym door and saw 2 girls and an sexy teacher combatting. to his disappointment he sat down watching the fight and thinking it was too late to join in
Soeli finally walked out of the storage closet with padding to protect her students from collisions. "Alright, everyone, come down and put this on. This obviously means I'm not gonna just let you two glide around. Get ready for some real fighting, just without the potentially real pain." She said this as she layed out two pairs of shin/knee guards, elbow guards, and chest protectors. All the lightweight equipment would allow the students to move and fly freely. Not to mention fight. She finished and looked up at Anezka and Mist. It was only now she noticed another 'dragon standing by the door. "If you're trying to look as if you're fashionably late, it's not working. You look wayyy to old for this class, too. Buddy, class is over in 25 minutes, come back tomorrow if you insist, though. The more the merrier." She turned back to her students and motioned to them to take flight again, once they had their equipment on. Soeli finally took flight herself with ease and hovered in one spot, expecting the students to do the same. Since it was aerial combat, she couldn't expect them to have weak wings and explain what they'd be doing while still on the floor.
\\ OOC: EEK! *clings to Izzo's ankle and begs forgiveness* ^___^;;;; \\ IC Anezka studies the equipment, having never used any of it before. She wasn't, however, a complete idiot, so after a few moments of staring at the shape of the protectors, she guesses where they go. Fiddling with them probably far longer than Mist, Anezka succeeds in strapping on two arm guards, two shin guards, and her chest protector. (Of course, after much frustration, she finally just used her wing thumbs to snap the chest protector on) Taking a deep breath, in one fluid motion, Anezka spreads her wings low, kicks off from the ground, and gives one powerful flap with her bat-like webbed wing fingers. "Ready now!" She replies cheerily, hovering not too far from Soeli.
