Quote

Nelson looked at Kae with wide eyes. He saw that certain glare in her eyes when Rachel had hugged him. He smiled at the thought. Jealous? Ah, he wished. He shrugged the thought off, doubtful. "You don't have to go, do you?" He raised an inquiring eyebrow, hopeful she'd tag along with him. "I do get sort of lonely when..well, when I'm alone." Nelson felt stupid for saying that. Ugh, I have to stop doing that.

Had she heard that right? Had he asked her to stay? No, you should leave ... You'll just be a burden. - Well, I am quite late. Kuentin is probably all worried already... And my Aunt'll kill me... But I do want to stay... But I suppose I could telepath them and tell them I'm ok. Sure, I'll come with you, but, remember, I'm more of a water/air Pendragon. Land is not my element. She said, smiling.
Nelson's impatient glare slowly turned into a frown as she began telling him she really had to go, but it turned into a lit up smile when she accepted. "Oh, awesome!" He jumped towards the beach and began running to the rolling waves. He stopped at the shore and yelled to her: "So we'll swim! I don't mind at all!" His voice was convincing and accepting. He didn't want to stay out of the water all day, and since he couldn't fly, this was his last option, and he gratefully accepted Kae's requests. She was, after all... Nelson's friend, that was a girl.
Kae stood for a few moments, unconsiously staring after him. She had never really looked properly at him before, but, now that she thought about it, she reminded him a lot of her dear cousin, Kuentin. He's about Kuentin's size... she thought absently. I wonder how old he is? Now that she thought about it, she didn't know much about Nelson, only his name. She was snapped back to reality a few seconds later. Why am I thinking of such things?! I should be swimming already ! And with that, she unfolded her emerald wings, and, an instant later, was soaring in the airs. She flew towards the sea, did a loop, and dived. She then came up to the surface again, and swam towards Nelson.
Nelson gleefuly dived into a wave and surfaced, ridding his hair of water. "You a good swimmer?" He wanted to go find some stuff underwater. The noon sun shone gently upon the sea's surface. Nelson was sure it would look splendid under the water and the bright rays would illuminate the shallow water's sandy floor.
"You bet !' She said, grinning. Swimming and flying were her favorite activities. Kae and her cousin would often swim together when they were little and she could still remember Kuentin's face the last time they had raced, a couple of years back. It had been the first time she had beaten him. "So, what d'you wanna do?"
Nelson looked at her. "Oh, I dunno. Look for some shells under the sand?" He smiled slightly and raised his eyebrows convincingly. He reached for the sandy bottom with his toes and raked them through the sand. It was smooth and granular, as fine as dust. Walking on it was pleasant. So would be digging into it. He smiled, and dived into the shallow water.
Fine ! she said before diving herself. Her eyes stang a little as the made contact with the sea water but she was quick to whisper a simple aquatic spell her cousin had taught her. A few minutes later, she could see properly and could breathe, too. She swam a little further down and gently began displacing the sand beneath her. At first she saw nothing but algae and sand, but, as she searched, she thought she saw something that vaguely ressembled a sea-shell. She quickly picked it up with her paw and looked at it. Just and ordinary shell. She wanted to find a better shell, a prettier one. One that would impress Nelson. An Ordinary shell was not enough. What am I thinking? she scolded herself. Why should she be trying to impress anyone? After all, Nelson was just a friend... And then she saw it. Just a glimpse, a green flash. Curious, she made her way to where she thought she had seen it. Sure, enough, after a little digging she found what she had been looking for. It was beautiful. Not a sea-shell. But better. She didn't quite know what it was, some kind of gem or another, but it sure was pretty. The jewel was of deep green, quite similar to that of Kae's eyes and it was in a crescent shape. Though she couldn't decipher the gold marking that were engraved on the back of it, she was sure it was Ramathian and wished her parents had allowed her to attend some school like Janardan, so that she could have learnt the Old Tongue. She knew a few basic words, but was incapable of expressing herself in it. Maybe Nelson would be able to read it. She looked around ot see where her friend was and spotted him a few meters away. Maybe he, too, had found something interesting. {Nelson ! I've found something! It's some kind of jewel... And there's writing on it. Can you read Ramathian?}
Nelson's eyes opened with with interest as he looked over to Kae, raising his head from under water. "Wow..No, I can't." He frowned, wishing he could. "And I don't plan on learning, either." He laughed and pushed his hair back. "But keep it, we can ask someone who does know Ramathian." ooC: Sorry for the short post. --;
Kae gave out a disappointed sigh. She frowned, as she tried once again to read the inscriptions. But it was useless, so she kept it in her satchel. She'd have to ask Kuentin then. "Don't you want to learn Ramathian though? I would love to. Not that I'll ever get to... I'd have to go to school for that." She muttered absently, lost in thoughts. Now that she thought about it, she wasn't sure wether she was so eager to learn the Old Tongue because she thought it would be useful and ineteresting to study or because it was being denied to her.
He kicked his foot through the fine sand, and muttered boredly, "Actually, I'm not all that interested in it." Nelson looked up at Kae and smiled, with a raised eyebrow, as if to show indifference. Sure, he was impressed at her find, but didn't care much about education. He stared at her, as if to say, 'This is boring, let's do something else.'
- So, what shall we do next? She asked. She looked around, searching for something of interest. She shivered a little as the wind blew over her and she lowered her head, allowing in to be submerged by the waves. She was just about to rise to the surface again when she noticed some strange, large bubbles that seemed to come out of a hole, a little further away. {Nelson. I think I've found something} she telepathed quickly, swimming towards the bubbles.
