Joey sat there looking at the empty table a few tables down. That one girl sat there. She did. Joey knows she did. It could'nt have been all in her head.

Sure....Joey is an odd ball. But she does not make up random pretty girls that talk to her. Or did she? She sighed and took another bite of the sandwhich.

Everyday since she talked to that girl she has waited for her to just come back. but she hasn't. She hasnt seen her since. That girl was the first one to ever look at Joey like she was pretty. The first one to stroke her face. She did it before any boys had.

Joey was never really liked by the boys. It was because she was crazy and odd like most boys are. But...she never thought she liked girls like the boys did. Not since that girl. She hasnt been able to get her out of her head.

"Am I into her? Do I really like her like that?"

Joey took another bite of her sandwhich and looked at her table. She was alone at her table. She thought she would never really have to sit alone since that day. But she was wrong.

  2. Sah`Dja sauntered through the cafeteria with a smoothie in her burnt russet fingers. She sipped idly at the straw, letting the odd berry concoction slide past her tongue. The strange health drink wasn't half bad, and would suffice for her purposes nicely. Emerald eyes wandered the sparsely populated room, examining all the new faces, for indeed, all of them were new. She sighed inwardly; disheartened by the sense of just how long it might take to truly fit in.

And with that thought, her eyes came to rest on the lone girl. Her mouth quirked wistfully about her straw, feeling an empathy for that profoundly alone lass. And besides, she could use someone to talk to just as much as this one seemed to. The shake dropped to brush against the black flames on her golden thigh, and Sah`Dja stopped instead of passing her by. She lightly rested her hand over Joey's shoulder while a warm grin spread across her lips. "Mind if I sit by ya?" She bent beside Joey with the query, her gold-tipped, russet wings casually arching over her back.

  3. Joey was startled and squeaked in fear at the touch. She looked up at her while her hand was over her heart.

"Yeah...sure....as long as you dont frighten me like that again."

She catches her breath and looks at her.

  4. Sah`Dja's eyes met Joey's as her mirth at the girl's fright revealed itself in a smile. Her gaze hid nothing; a gaze whose depths harbor not but a friendly soul. "If that's what it takes, I'll give it a shot." She set her smoothie on the right hand side of the girl and slid into the seat behind it.

Sah`Dja ran a hand through her fiery hair - which had taken on a more chaotic aspect this day - and let out a despondent sigh. "So when are your buds going to join us?" She propped her head up on a palm and looked to Joey. Her fingers idly swirled the contents of her pale red drink with its straw. She was fishing at this point, and trying not to make it plain.

  5. Joey had taken a quick bite of her sandwhich to buy her time to find an exscuse. She chomped on it for a moment then swalloed.

"They are doing a study of something....I have no real idea. They are all taking the same class and they need to work on something."

    She smiled a staggered smile.

  6. Sah`Dja popped the lid on her smoothie with a bit of a smirk, "You'll have to try harder then that, I'm afraid...Next time, though." She cocked a grin gave the girl a sly wink, "So what's weigh'en so heavy on your mind?" The good ol' direct approach, simply because dancing around someone who didn't want to budge just wasn't worth the time. And in the meantime, she began rummaging through the purple satchel at her waist for a plastic vial.

  7. joey looked over at the table again.

"A person I met sat there one day. i like that person. but ever since the day we met....I havent seen her-I mean him." she blushes and looks away.

  8. Sah`Dja let Joey's words tumble around in her mind for a moment, added a few simple observations together, and said in an easy-going tone, "Sounds like you're love sick to me." Romantic like, even. She slipped the plastic vial from her pouch, clear like class, and rested it in her palm. The silver sand within gently hissed as it tumbled with the motion.

"So what'd she do to make you miss her so?" Sah`Dja popped the vial's top with her thumb and caught it between two fingers of the same hand in an easy and long engrained motion. The silver sand was poured into the smoothie, its top pressed back on, and the straw returned to the task of idle stirring. Her eyes returned to Joey as she took a sip at the straw from the corner of her mouth. She possessed an interest for this girl's story.

  9. Joey looked at her with a reluctant look then said softly " She was the first to ever even tell me that I was beutiful. When we met she sat there. Across from me. She looked at me like I was beutiful to. She motioned for to come over and we talked. She told me things....nice things. Then she touched my face...no one have ever touched my face like she has."

She put a hand on her face where the girl had touched her before. She sighed.

  10. "Sorry, hun, no wonder you look so glum." Sah`Dja folded her hands and rested her chin atop them. Such a hard place to be, and with what seemed like a first love. "Well, I'd say either let her go or go find her. Sitting here isn't doing you any good..." She sighed, a touch of longing throbbing in her throat, "I realize... I suppose I'm not the person you want to hear this from. I really don't know more than a thing or two about you. But, I had to let my first love go, so I know a bit of what you're going through. It's not an easy place to be." Her head tilted toward Joey and hit the girl with a searching if compassionate eye, "And if you do go looking, be ready in case it wasn't what you're hoping for. I doubt one could say if she's worth it, she could well be, but I can at least tell you that life is rarely fair." One could always and forever hope, but if that hope is blind, then you're just asking for pain.

Sah`Dja offered a wane grin, "So that's the speach, your two cents from the sky. How about I get us some ice cream and we go find some fresh air?"

  11. Joey looked at her and nodded "Sure...."

Sah`Dja smiled, "Great! What's your fancy?" Admittedly, part of this question was simply because she hadn't gotten around to figuring out her own preference. Real, or even semi-real, ice cream had been rather lacking growing up, and the shear variety around her now had made for another wonderful surprise. Her hands shifted to the table's edge, ready to push off and away. That eagerness fixated her eyes on Joey's face, entrapped by the anticipation of the girl's response. A touch of tension wrapped her body, that faint sense of being on knife's edge between repose and motion. For all that she was quite a bit older, Sah`Dja looked more the kid in that moment.

  13. "Chocolate cookie dough..." she said with a smile. Great...more things to make her even more hyper. She doesnt care though...maybe she can supress it.

She stands and throws away the garbage from her lunch, along with the half eaten sandwhich.
