((ooc: Day: 40 Quarter: Mia Year: 81380 Where: The banks Magi Lake. Time: Relatively early morning- think 5am. Who: http://shadowlack.com/persona.php?id=1058Vethum Fusajtcoll</a> and anyone that wishes to join him. Note: This is my first roleplay as Vethum...please tell me if there's a problem and I'll fix it.)) It seemed that Vethum was having a streak of bad luck, as far as his profession was going. For days now, he had found himself sitting on the banks of the lake, with a fishing rod in his hands, shivering discontentedly, and everyday he had walked the fifty yards back to his house with but a few tokens to show for his efforts. On the seventh morn, he was even less pleased than usual, sitting with a scowl upon his crinkled face and muttering something under his breath, which was rising in heavy clouds of steam before his eyes, or at least it would be, but the sun was yet to grace Magi Lake with it's presence. His arthritic hands shook, partly because of the cold and partly due to the strain of trying to keep a heavy fishing rod still for hours on end. The only sources of light were the lantern stood by Vethum's stool, and the flame from his tail, which swished round like a firefly in the dark. Squinting through his glasses, the elderly 'Dragon refused to admit that he couldn't actually see his line, or the water in front of him. He shivered, still muttering under his breath, and carefully wrapped his scarf tighter around his neck, sweeping his fringe from out of his vision and grabbing hold of the long pole in case he might drop it. Of course, his constant mumbling probably wasn't improving matters with the fish, as the noise breaking the early morning silence would more than probably drive the creatures away, if the cold weather had not already, but Vethum was stubborn man, and would not admit defeat easily.
Orcalini walked slowly and, it seemed, rather diliberatly, through the pale dusk, her tail flame flickering and crackling louding in comparision to the utter silence that surronded her. She sighed and paused, stretching her hand out and staring resolutely at it. A spark, then a pop, and a tiny blaze flared into existence. She blew lightly upon it, and it flared, to a bit larger then her hand. She grinned in delight, not seeming to notice that the fuel it was using was the fur on her hand; in fact, it seemed that as soon are the hairs started to singe, they grew out again. The ball of fire floated lazily up to her head, and drifted in front of her as she started to walk again. She sighed and slung off her black leather backpack - the only thing she was wearing today - and pulled out of it a fist-sized biscuit with blue berries in it. Orcalini then continued to walk, and soon, the biscuit was gone and she was at the foot of the water, rather close to Vethum. She wlked over to him and gave a smile. 'Ayoa, neighbor. I'm Orcalini. How're the fish treating you?' She sat down next to him after this pronouncement, coal tail-flame flickering merrily.
OOC: first roleplay here, please tell me if I do something wrong. Nal shivered in the cold, he hadn’t ever liked it. Maybe it was because it froze his last bits of food, or maybe it was because the snow would soak his clothes. Either way, he didn’t like it. “Now why did I decide to head this way in the middle of Mia?" He thought to himself. He sat down in the snow to rest. “Well, this is a great mess ive gotten myself into. "He said to himself as he felt the cold seep into him. Nal wasn’t exactly dressed for cold weather. His light, torn coat wasn’t all that warm and his pants had a few tears in them. He wrapped his tail around him and tried to remember why he had left the warm inn the night before. “That stupid old keeper, throwing me out in the cold just because I couldn’t cook to HIS standards." He laughed quietly. “If only uncle Clarion could see me now." Nal closed his eyes and tried to rest. Nal must have fallen asleep, because when he opened his eyes next it was dark and colder then before. He forced himself to get up and continued walking. After about a half-hour he heard a voice. 'Ayoa, neighbor. I'm Orcalini. How're the fish treating you?' Nal looked up and saw two figures by the lake. The speaker, a female pendragon who looked about as old as himself and another, older pendragon with a fishing pole. Nal thought to himself, “Maybe one of these two can tell me where this path leads." He slowly began to walk up to them. OOC: dang, I know thats terrible ><
ooc| Yay for first roleplays here! -glomp- Er, yah, I'm new here. I didn't know there was snow! How exciting. I like snow. Its snowing here in Minnesota. Pretty hard. I mean, for snow. I'm really hyper right now. bic| Cal looked over and saw Nal. She stood and flashed him a bright smile, then turned toward him, licking a couple snowflakes off of her shoulder and shaking them out of her long, straight jet-black hair. Her tail-flame flickered and brightened a touch, and she twitched her dark wings idly. Ayoa, other neighbor. She grinned and cocked her head. Hows the cold treating you? She opened her mouth and stuck out her long tongue, catching snowflakes and swallowing at random intervals, tilting her head back for the best efficiency, and holding her arms out. Looks like not to well, she thought. He probably doesn't like the cold. Luckily for me. I can bearly feel it. She took her backpack off once again, feeling a bit hungry, and pulled out a berry-biscuit - although Cal ate meat, she found it didn't store so great in a backpack, and adopted bready foods, too. Want one? She inquired, holding one out for anybody who might want it. It was perfectly cooked, light golden brown, with blurred blue speckles.
OOC: was waiting to give Flishe a chance to post but whatever. Nal was a bit surprised at how quickly Cal noticed him. He had thought he was being pretty quiet as he walked up. Nal looked at the biscuit; he didn’t recognize the berries that had been cooked into it. “Well, its better than anything ive got left." He accepted it from her and took a bite out of it. “Oh, uh… thinks." He said to her. It wasn’t the best biscuit he had ever eaten, but it was at least something.
((ooc: I'm not actually going to be able to continue this roleplay...I've decided to probably delete Vethum as I haven't got the time for three characters at the moment. I'm very sorry and just carry on like Vethum wasn't ever there.))
Cal grinned and took another out for herself, munching on it thoughtfully. She enjoyed the biscuits, the dwarf blueberries that were cooked into it being her favorite fruit. She paused for a moment and then swallowed the last bit and thrust out her paw. I'm Orcalini, by the way. She said, a waited politely for him to respond, fidgeting slightly - patience wasn't a virtue she had very much of. She lowered her tail into the snow and didn't seem to notice as it rapidly melted the accumulating snow surronding it, soon there was a bare patch of ground. The sun shot its first rays over the horizon, slowly lightening the sky and illuminating the lake - and its surroundings - and Cal's ball of light fire flicked and died, as if on its own accord.
OOC: sorry, it might take me a few days to post again, got a lot of crap to do. Ill write another post when I have enough time.
Razorback had been running along the banks of magi lake for the past hour "right just a few more minutes and then ill think i'll have a swim" he also thought about what he was going to do for the rest of the day "should i chop up some more wood for the fireplace or do some cooking?" he brushed that last thought aside and took off his clothes and did a running jump into the water "<span style='color:red'>BLOODY HELL THATS FREEZING</span>!!" screamed Razorback as he quickly got out of the water he noticed two figures sitting not far from where he had started his morning run. Deciding it would be better to get back into his clothes before he froze to death he made his way to talk to them "<span style='color:red'>hello my names Razorback and your sitting on my front lawn</span>" Razorback then pointed to a little cottage "<span style='color:red'>would you like to join me for a cup of tea</span>?"
Nal was a bit surprised as Razorback came up to them. “Oh, sure." He said. OOC: short post sorry! No time though.
Orca, always quick to adjust, grinned and. Sure! Although... I'm allergic to a couple of common tea-making herbs, so I don't know about the tea part. ooc| SSS (sors so short!) also busy, and on a library computer, you never know when another person will come and you have to get off o_O I have no idea what those common tea-making herbs would be, by the way!
((ooc: Hope you don't mind that I'm recycling this post. I'm going to give Vethum another go. ^^;; That's all- I'll leave you guys alone now.))
"<span style='color:red'>well come on in then and make yourselves comfortable and i also have some food i cooked myself if you want any i also have coffee if you are allergic to tea</span>"said Razorback happily as he sat down in his favourite chair and began to pour himself a nice cup of homemade tea. OOC: sorry that this is so short its just im at school at the time im typing this
Coffee sounds great! Orca grinned and followed him into the cottage and then sat down across from him. I'm Orca, by the way, I don't think I ever told you my name? Orca's tail flame flickered merrily and had burnt a small black spot into the leg of the chair before she realized it was doing so, she swished her tail away quickly and concentrated on the spot; it went away, but she felt a small spike of hunger.
"<span style='color:red'>so what brings you to Magi lake</span>?" asked Razorback as he got the food from the wood burning oven "<span style='color:red'>mmmm who wants some food i have a roast in the other oven and i have just finished some mini pizzas</span>." Razorback then put the tray on a wire rack and then brought it over to the table "<span style='color:red'>oh i almost forgot your coffee Ocra</span>!!" said Razorback pouring Ocra a nice big cup of coffee.
Orca flashed him a smile as he pour the coffee and took a sip. Her eyes lit up. <span style='color:maroon'>Oooh, what is in this coffee? Simply esquisite.</span> She dranked some more and closed her eyes, sighing happily. Whatever it was, she liked it. <span style='color:maroon'>Actually, I'm not sure what quite brought me to Magi Lake. I view myself as a bit of a wanderer, I suppose, since I always seem to be somewhere new. </span> <span style='color:maroon'> Mini Pizzas sound delicious, by the way.</span> She added.
Nal, who had been quiet up to this point. He followed Orcalini inside and put his pack on the floor. “Im sorry if I didn’t introduce myself earlier; my name is Nal and im not sure if I can stay long. It looks like it could get pretty bad out there and I should get moving as soon as soon as I can." Nal couldn’t pass up a free meal however and his hunger compelled him to sit down.
Razorback looked hurt by the words Nal had said "<span style='color:red'>Well if you cant stay for long Nal at least let me give you some food for your journey....it's just that i dont get many visitors and your the first in about six months....it gets very lonley here all that i can do is cook and tend to my vege patch</span>." Razorback then hurried to the cupboard and stated to get various things to put in Nals backpack.
