    Late Afternoon

Due north of the Machina Ruins, yet still south of the Velony Gulf rested a peaceful forest. Long forgotten were the times when the forest saw the rise and fall of a great pendragon civilization. The few remains that scattered about the forest floor were covered with thousands of years growth, and several feet of humus. The forest was rich with wildlife, and anything but quiet with twitterpated birds prattling to each other.

In the deeper parts of the forest, perhaps a good hours walk if you neglected to stop and smell the flowers, the birds seemed to quiet down. The canopy over this area of forest thickened until, in some parts, it blocked out the sun. The air seemed thicker here, and was heavy with moisture. It was this small section of the forest that a young rouge pendragon occupied.

Blitzen's fur was unique, in that it had no actual hue. He blended with his surroundings like a chamelion. He was born with this unique talent. Living by himself and only going to school as he pleased gave Blitzen all the time in the world to perfect his camouflaging technique. He developed his talent so that he could blend faster than the above average pendragon eye could see. He was at the point where he could run circles around another pendragon and be able to change his fur fast enough as to not be seen. However there was always room for improvement.

Blitzen was only able to camouflage his fur from one set of eyes. If he had someone to the right and left of him, he was only able to hide from one. Thus he practiced daily and meditated so that he would one day be able to hide from more than one onlooker.

He wasn't blended at the moment. His fur was white with small hints of brown and blue. His spiked hair, crowned atop his head was a power blue colour to match his wings, and his branched tail and feet were brown. Blitzen stood in the shadow of a very think Mayneh tree and spotted a peculiar coloured mushroom. Perfect! Blitzen shot out his right hand in front of the fungus. His hand changed immediately to match the red spotted 'shroom. Then he stuck out is left hand to cover his right, and changed it aswell. Now he had two hands overlapping, both blended with the mushroom.

After a few moments of acting like a goof and actually starting to karake chop at the mushroom while blending, Blitzen felt something. He had let his guard down and he know felt that someone had invaded his territory, his forest! Blitzen spun around and the colours of his surroundings rippled across his fur like a oceanic wave. He just hoped that he had changed in time.

Cripes, Grey.. Where the hell have you lead yourself this time?

Slowly but surely, a contrasting coloured female entered the thicker section of the forest, less light cascading through the heavy canopy. Gene pool swayed greatly in the canine direction, this teen adorned with pointing ears and a dog-like muzzle. Gentle muttering emits from her throat, the female talking quietly to herself in hushed tones. Not a sign of madness though, simply that there was no one else around to talk to. Not that she knew of, anyway.

On closer inspection, one would see that this particuler female greatly resembled an earth-based Skunk, even in her naked, bipedal form. Her pelt, thick yet fine and silky, is a jet black all over, al except one single, crisp white stripe, running from the tip of her nose to the base of her spine. Here, the stripe forks, spreading out into to thinner lines, which out-line the edge of thick, bushy tail - often used to provide warmth, or something soft to sit on.

Flicking just-beyond-shoulder length white hair, braided in the odd place over her shoulder, the female stops, studying her new surroundings for a moment. Violet optics glance this way and that in search of any potential threat, though spotting nothing.

"Oh dear.. Lost again, hm? ..Might as well stop for a break here then, I suppose.

A plain brown napsack is let swing from one arm, the black and white canine-creature residing to sit upon her knees. With a small click, the bronze clasp on the napsack is flicked open, the top flap folded back to reveal her things. A plastic box, containing her lunch, a small sushi table, a reading book and a sketch pad - equipped with pencil. </span>

  3. Blitzen froze in place, his eyes fixed on the young, skunk like femme that just came into sight. Did she see me? His pointed ears twitched towards the girl. She appeared to be roughly the same age as himself. However Blitzen knew better than anyone that appearances could be deceiving.

He was a very large pendragon for his age. Built heavy, with long sturdy legs to support him; Blitzen had the appearance of someone ten years his senior. He could also change his fur colouration at will. If he wanted to he could give himself purple wings, magenta hair with a yellow polka dotted pelt. And to top it all off he wasn't to shabby at shape shifting. His favourite shift was his griffin form, which he liked to use everyone once in a while for a change of pace.

After a moment, Blitzen decided that the female before him wasn't aware of his presence. His thoughts were confirmed with her words <span style='color:gray'>"Oh dear.. Lost again, hm? ..Might as well stop for a break here then, I suppose."</span>. Blitzen relaxed his tensed muscles and took a few steps back until his wings pressed up against the tree.

Nice move there Blitz. Keep up your guard...

Blitzen watched Grey kneel down and open her pack. He attempted to stand taller so he could see the sacks contents. Surely whatever this intruder had on her mind could be revealed by her choice of belongings. The only item Blitzen could see clearly was the sketch pad.

What is that, some kind of notebook? Wait no...it's a sketch pad! Uh oh... sketch pad means artist... and artist means.... Shit I'd better get outta here!

Artist meant that if she decided she was going to draw her surroundings, she would have to really focus on them. Blitzen could pass by someone unnoticed easily if they weren't actually looking for him. But he wasn't perfect at it. If they focused hard enough they might see a slight shift in the contour lines of the trees or leaves. A slight discolouration in some grass or moss. Hell, a quick double take at the ground could reveal Blitzen's form in a shadow. He could control his fur colours but not his own shadow. That's why Blitzen preferred a forest with a thick canopy.

Blitzen turned to leave but as he did he felt a quick stab of pain in his stomach.
    CRUNCH!
The mushroom on the tree! Blitzen walked right into it and broke it off with his belly. The piece of fungus dropped to the ground and rolled over to near where Grey was kneeling. But as if the loud crunch wasn't enough, Blitzen lost his balance and toppled over.
    THUD!
He was able to keep his fur cloaked, but he couldn't help the dust from the forest floor spray into the air. Shit...

  4. <span style='color:gray'>
Silently smiling to herself, the small black and white feline lifted the wooden sushi table from her bag, placing it on the near-flat ground before her. Plastic lunch box shortly followed, and it too was placed on the leafy ground. Plain brown napsack was then closed again, teh clasp fixed tightly. Perhaps she would sketch later, the was an afwul lot of pretty things in the area, flowers, vines winding up trees, and stereotypical spotted mushrooms..

    CRUNCH!

It appeared that just as she though about the mushroom, one had decided to head her way. Freezing in her kneeling position, large tail flickering and twitching a little, Grey blinked, watching the spotted fungus slowly roll to a hault at her side. Now, that certainly was odd. Lifting the mushroom, lavender optics examined it quietly. It seemed that it had been ripped off of a tree, splintered pieces of bark protruding from the back.

Placing it back on the ground, she looked up towards the direction of the mushroom, ears folding back a little in defence. It was then though, that a loud 'THUD followed the previous 'crunch'. Grey yelped, shocked by the out-of-place noise. What the hell was that? Had a tree fallen? No.. It sounded like more of a.. Body. And, the large sweeping movements of dust confirmed that theory..

Ready to grab her things and run, Grey's ears folded back a little further. Tail continued to twitch in frustration - she had to know what made the noise. It could've been something dangerous..

    "Who's there?"
    </span>

  5. Blitzen slowly lifted his head from the ground. He was tempted to groan, but he thought it best he figure out how he was going to handle the situation first. He had been caught. He could easily just take off running, but Blitzen didn't like to think of himself as a coward. She had caught him fair and square.

Blitzen raised himself, hoisting his body up with his arms. He slowly stood and shook off a bit of the dirt the clotted around his knees and chest. He put a sheepish grin on before his fur rippled and changed to his favourite white colour. His hands, feet, and tail changed to a dark ember. The greens and browns of the forest faded from Blitzen's wings as a soft, powder blue replaced them. His spiked hair turned mostly white, aside from ember roots and blue tips.

Blitzen stood beside the tree, his sheepish grin still playing across his face. He slowly raised a hand to run fingers through his hair.

"Uh...ehm. Sorry. I'm not a creep or anything..."

Blitzen could feel his cheeks flush. This looks great. A young thill wandering around the forest with some creepy cloaked stalker following her. Oh god, I hope she doesn't scream...

  6. <span style='color:gray'>
The slight worried expression that once lay over black and white features of the kneeling female faded, a look of light puzzlement sweeping over to replace it. Events had all taken place quite fast - loud noise, and flying mushroom, and now a very sheepish-looking white male had appeared out of nowhere to stand before her. Tilting her head a little, Grey ponders over these happenings for a moment, with phisophical mind, trained for thinking and debate. Odd as this all was, she wasn't the sort to appear rude in front of company.

"Well. That's certainly not something you see everyday.."

Eyes flash a playful lavender colour, showing that any fear of confusion that had once been playing about her face was replaced with friendliness. A light grin curled it's way into her lips, as she looked this odd male up and down. A being that just ripples out of nothing definately wasn't the most common thing to come across.

"No need to apologise. And, who said you were a creep?"

Smiling in a friendly manner, large, pointed ears twitched a little, showing part of the child-like nature that lay somewhere within her. Almost unconciously, she continued about setting out her lunch, opening the small plastic box which she had pulled from her bag. Quietly she peeled off the lid, revealing many small sushi rolls. Indeed sushi was her favourite dish, small pieces of raw fish, coated in rice and wrapped in seawed. Grinning, she produced two chopsticks from the side of the box, lifting a few pieces and resting them on the wooden sushi table. Gaze then flickers back up to the male.

"I'm Grey, by the way. And you are?"</span>

  7. Blitzen ruffled his wings and relaxed a bit. He had been worried of Grey freaking out. There was no way to tell how someone might react to a pendragon simply slipping out of nowhere. It occured to Blitzen that he could have come out decloaked from behind the tree and then stepped out into the open, but would that have been any less of a surprise?

No one had called Blitzen a creep, not here anyways, although he often felt he came off as one. Some pendragons didn't take to well to someone who could be standing right in front of them and they might not know it.

"Well no one... I was defending myself in case you were thinken' it. I heard you comming and I cloaked. I haven't been following you or anything."

Blitzen felt his cheeks heat up again. She hadn't thought you were following her. Betcha now she does. Idiot... Blitzen pulled his folded wings closer to his back and leaned against the Mayneh tree. He tried to look more relaxed then he felt. He didn't want to be rude and come right out and ask why Grey was in his part of the forest, cause technically it wasn't his. The forest didn't belong to anyone, but Blitzen didn't have anything else, so he claimed the section of the forest with the closed canopy as his own territory. It was his home. And as lousy as it made him feel, he had to ask how she had happened upon it. She had mentioned to herself that she was lost, but Blitzen couldn't think of anything she might have been looking for.

"Oh! Sorry, I'm Blitzen. So... what brings you to such an isolated spot such as this? You lost or something?"

Clicking the chop sticks together a little playfully ,Grey smiled down upon her lunch, the Japanese appearance so appealing. The unique smell began soon started to sift through the trees, up from the small, neatly made wooden sushi table that it sat upon. The taste too was tantalizing - odd and intruiging. With ease, Grey clamps the chopsticks around one piece of rolled up suchi, lifting it with precision, and popping it into her mouth. Such a strange lunch felt extra good out here in the forest.

    ''Pleasure ot meet you, Blitzen."

A light grin plays about the contrasting one's features, as she eyed the male that stood before her. He certainly didn't seem very comfortable, his cheeks a gentle tone of scarlet - form leaning awkwardly against a tree. Perhaps she'd stumbled into his claimed territory? Or perhaps he was simply a teenage Pendragon, not used to female company. Surely there weren't a lot of girls around here.. Well, she'd have to show him that his presence wasn't a threat to hers - as long as she didn't provide a threat to him. With friendly-laced tones, she speaks.

"And even if you were following me dear, I wouldn't have minded. I often talk to myself - it'd be nice to know that someone else is listening for a change. Plus, it flatters a girl to know that guys follow her."

She grins lightly once more, popping another piece of her lunch into her mouth. Of course she was only teasing the male in a friendly manner - she truely believed that he wasn't following here. Who would want to follow her? She wasn't all that special.

"I suppose I'm a little lost.. I don't know. I guess I always am. I only came out for a walk, and now I seem to have forgetton which way I came.."

Chuckling a little, the female picked up another sushi roll between skillfull chopsticks. Smiling, she held it in the direction of the male, offereing for him to join her. She had plenty, and was always willing to share.

    "Sushi?"</span>

  9. Woe, softly gazing, sat still on a tree branch.
Confused, she watched in wonder, as the whole ordeal happened. She was a pup, with rich, black fur and heavy, thick black wings that hung heavy from her back and limply dangled from the tree branch. She was a peculiar pup, and was searching...ever searching. Her deep blue eyes and awkward, large ears alert and watchful, she knew her presence was known if not now then shall be soon, but she kept quiet. The unfamiliar odd feeling in the air, where she sat was strange. Unnerving but not threatening...the peculiarity of this enigmatic pup was obvious to anyone, but upon undestanding her and meeting her, it only brought more questions to light and made her everlastingly more mysterious...

  10. OOC Oops... sorry GibsonHummingbird. 'Prolly should have mentioned this earlier but this is a private thread between Blitzen and Grey. Sorry... ^^¿

Blitzen shifted slightly. This Grey was turning out to be quite the character. Blitzen had never been called 'dear' before. Certainly not by someone who appeared to be in the same age group as himself. Then again, how often did the young Seneca talk to anyone in his age group? Blitzen proffered an older company rather than the latter. He enjoyed acting older than he was, and it pleased him that he was able to pull it off so well.

<span style='color:gray'>"Plus, it flatters a girl to know that guys follow her."</span>Blitzen flushed once again. So easily did he embarrass. Blitzen fancied himself a fighter or a rouge , not a conversationist.

"I uh... ehm... really wasn't following you."
Blitzen muttered into his thick chest of fur. He stared at the ground in front of him as he spoke, with his mane tickling his chin. He more or less spoke his words under his breath, he wasn't aware that he was simply being teased. The aroma of Grey's food wafted towards Blitzen's nose. It was a strange sensation. It didn't really quite smell like anything he had ever smelled before.

<span style='color:gray'>"I suppose I'm a little lost.. I don't know. I guess I always am. I only came out for a walk, and now I seem to have forgetton which way I came.."</span> And then the sushi was offered to Blitzen. He had never heard of sushi before. Blitzen really didn't eat out often. The forest provided him with his meals.

Blitzen began to feel a little uncivilized. He realized that his meals consisted of whatever he could catch or forage. His white bib of fur was off-coloured with the dirt he landed in a few minutes ago, and a thought occurred to him that he had been working and exercising all morning; he more than likely had an 'aroma' to him as well. Blitzen doubted he smelled anywhere near appetizing.

"Er... I would, normally thank you... But I um... I just ate. You go right ahead though."

Blitzen lied. He hadn't had anything since a very early breakfast.

"I could, however, help you out if your lost..."

"I uh... ehm... really wasn't following you."

Smiling lightly, one empty chopstick is waved in slight protest, as the last of the small sushi roll is swallowed. Of course, she had only been playing, teasing. She could've continued to do so, perhaps playing the hurt damsel part? With such remarks as ~And, why weren't you following me? Am I not good enough for you?~ Usually, she would've replied in such a way, but this Blitzen fellow appeared a little uncomfortable aboutthe whole subject. Tones gentle and reassuring, she speaks softly, after making sure that the last of the Sushi was half way down her gullet already.

"No no, I know, dear. I never meant to make you feel uncomfortable. I knew you weren't following me really.. I'm not suprised that you weren't."

She grins a little, to create a general ora of comfort. Her comment perhaps indicating some self-concious issues.. As the female did not find anything about herself attractive, so, why indeed would he have been following her?

At the rejection of her home-made sushi, delicate features twist slightly into a small frown. Why on earth would he not want to taste these delectable little delicacies? Little did she know, Blitzen was used to his surroundings providing his food.. But then of course, little did he know, Grey too, used the land to fetch her meals. She just had.. A rather more creative way of displaying it. The small chunks of raw fish within the sushi rolls, were supplied from a small bay, in which the female fished and caught them herself. The seaweed that held the rolls together - also provided by that very same little bay. And the rice that fills each individual roll? Hand grown on a small, pivate plantation of the Skunk-like females.

More recently, sensitive nose had indeed picked up on an odd smell, though mind never lead her to believe that it was Blitzen. Originally, she thought that there may be some wild critter around, doing it's business - but if so, she would've seen or heard it. In the end, she had decided that the strange pong was being produced by the peculiar little mushroom-fungus, that had 'attacked' her earlier.

"Hmm.. Perhaps you could help me get out of here. Though, not just yet. First, I'd like to eat. And then, perhaps have a look about - maybe make a few sketches?"

A light smile played about intricate features, skilled digits twirling a chopstick about in a rythmic fashion. Yes, she would sit and eat for a while, then take a look around. Maybe Blitzen would show her about the place? Or at least show her more of his so-far-not-mentioned camoflauge skills. But - he'd have to eat. Can't do all these things on an ampty stomach. Just eaten? Yeah, right.. No, Grey wasn't the sort to give up. Especially when her home-madetreats were refused.

Lifting another pair of delicate wooden chopsticks, engraved with pretty Ramathian marings, from the small plastic lunch box, they are held out to the other. A sly smile swept across blackened muzzle, almost seductive - but definately manipulative.

"But first, eat. I insist.. You wouldn't turn down a poor girl's home made delicacies, would you..?"</span>
