Day: 47 Month: Mia Year: 81378 An ebony form slipped silently through the blazing desert. Soft paw thuds could be heard as it struggled against the heat of the Pwa desert. The paws appeared to be dancing upon the golden sands in an odd pattern. It leaped here and there, always avoiding full contact with the scorching heat of the sands. The 'dragon whose paws twitched, was busy thinking. He was unaware of the raging desert, lost in some parts of his mind while his body coped with the heat in the best way it could. Glittering of emerald green could be seen within half-closed eyes, protecting it's fragile orbs from the harsh sting of the Pwa wind. The swelting heat was just bearable, but only just. If he did not find shelter soon then he would just be another corpse. Lost within the desert. That meant death for him but he cared naught for death. Everyone encounters it at one point in their life. It was inevitable. Why did 'dragons have to be so afraid of death? the eternal sleep? Maybe they wished to live on further, always eternal without the meeting of Death. Huh, Dark laughed softly at this. An odd sound that was muffled within the raging wind. How long he had been traveling for, he knew nothing of this. One thing he did know was he unyielding thirst for just a drop of water. Just one single drop of water would satisfy his thirst. Yet, this too was not given access to his self, only to his body which had to cope with it as well. Dark knew the ways of keeping oneself separate from parts of one's body. Many called it mediating but that was not what he was doing. He was simply lost in thoughts. Somewhere in his mind, he was looking at another scenery. Another thought....or rather, another past. He had denied the past, keeping it locked within the deepest part of his heart. Here in this vast desert, he was alone. Utterly alone. No one here for him, no one to hear him scream in pain if he encountered a trouble. No one to hear him cry..... His emerald eyes watered, the world was now seen through a blur. Slowly, tears fell from his eyes unto to the golden sands. Flickering gently as the sun caught it then in an instant it was gone. Evaporated instantly. Each tear fell only to disappear within an instant. If only pain could be solved just like that. To disappear within an instant. Life was not that. Dark let the tears fall freely unto the sand. He had came here to be alone, within the harshness. Slowly he begun to increase his speed from a relaxed trot to a full-out run. He laughed happily as he ran. He did not care if he was wasting his energy needlessly through running. He just wanted to ran, to feel his heart pump. He was a streak of ebony that flickered through the desert, flying over the hot surface of the sands in a blur. He just ran, kept on running until he was at full speed. Energy drained out of his body only to be replaced by another endless stamina that just fed his legs. Pure freedom was given to him as he ran. He roared in pure joy, denying the desert to take his life. He roared once more, an earth-shattering roar that challenged the fury rage of the Pwa desert to claim his life. Come now, take my life i dare you. Come steal my life essence. I challenge you was his roar to the fury of the harsh winds. Freedom was all he knew, he just ran and ran. His legs pumped out underneath him in quick bursts. The emerald eyes glittered with happiness. The eyes were narrowed against the winds. Scatterings of sands followed in his path as he ran. it seemed as if the Pwa desert was taking up his challenge. A faint rumbling echoed over the vastness. A mini-hurricane of sand particles was raised up. He did not see it nor cared about it. Inside, his heart pumped wildly while his mouth was twisted into a mischievous grin. The past was long forgotten, his tears were gone. The overwhelming sadness and bitterness he felt was replaced by happiness. Soon, the world was a blur as he ran freely. He did not have unlimitless energy. Sooner or later he would have to stop running or allow the desert to claim his life, thus losing the challenge. Before he slowed down, he let out another bellowing roar. Panting, the ebony form slowed down to a trot. He was closer to his destination. Fatigue had succeeded in the end. His parched tongue complained for water. Mumbling under his breath, Dark held himself together as he begun to gain the required energies needed for another full-out run. "Damn, shoulda kept at the same speed as earlier...." He cursed softly as felt the beginnings of weariness. He was getting tired. Soon, not so far he told himself as he begun to break out into another full-out run. Once again, his ebony form streaked across the golden desert. This time, it was not a run of pure joy. It was a race against time to head to his destination. What was his destination? He did not know exactly but he had seen it within his dreams. Not so far now he panted to himself as he closed in within his destination. His dreams had spoke of a run down shack. There was a poorly made tower just behind it which towered over two stories. Dotted around the perimeters of the shack was some form of hole from which one could draw water from. Atop the tower, sitting cross-legged was the form a 'dragon. That 'dragon had an aura of peace around him. He appeared ageless and eternal. The strange 'dragon was waiting for him. He knew that. When Dark had dreamt of him, he just knew. It was undeniable that the strange 'dragon waited for him. Still, he kept on running. The Pwa desert was taunting him, trying to break down his resolve. He was stronger then that as he roared his own taunt in return to the stinging winds and kept on running. He thought himself crazy to come here at the whims of a dream...no not a dream but instead a series of dreams. Huh, what he was supposed to do once he got there? achieve some form of inner peace? maybe enlightment? Hah! he laughed harshly as he felt doubt tug at his mind. Maybe this was not worth it. Maybe he was just crazy to come here all of a sudden. He slowed down his run to a sprint. Well, it was too late now. He came so far. He glanced behind, he could not see anything but the particles of sands within mini-hurricanes behind him. Humph, only way now was forward...to his destinations. If the dreams were just your average-joe dreams then he faced death. No going back. He cursed angrily. Under other circumstances, he would not have cursed repeatedly as he did earlier and now but this was different. He was alone here. Again, he cursed. Out of anger, his stamina was fueled once more as he broke out running at the highest speed he could achieve torwards his destination. Towards that shack. To the strange 'dragon and to whatever fate awaited him there. (( um....this is a free for all if you intreasted. I don't know what will happen to Dark. This is a kinda sudden thought so there is no certain outline for what will happen which leaves it to whoever decides to enter this thread, to alter what happens and change the path of wherever Dark is heading for or whatever. Yeah...just a free for all.... ))
OOC: Haven't created this character yet, but I will soon. BIC: "What do you say, Love?" she whispered softly, eyeing the creature she held in her dark paw. So small, so frail looking, she had only to close her paw... And the creature would meet a certain death. What a strange thing Life was. How was it that some had the power to decide who should live and who should die, whilst others died even before their lives had truly began? She had only to close her paw... ...But she didn't want to kill it. The creature was useful, and had saved her many a time. No, she didn't want to get rid of her little spy. Not just yet, anyway. Instead, she gently stroked it's forehead, waiting for it's response. The lizard began to move frantically, emitting strange noises that only she could understand. "Company? A 'dragon, you say? Running for no apparent reason?" "Interesting." "Come, Love, let's see what this is all about, shall we?", she said placing the Drakon on her shoulder. It climbed its way to her neck, then curled up, its long tail coiled around her neck. She was actually quite fond of the creature, glad to have it for company. Without it, she would probably have gone mad, not having seen, yet alone talked to anyone else in months. In some ways, her little reptilian 'friend' was better than a 'dragon. For one, it couldn't talk back. She could say all she wanted and it wouldn't disagree with her. It couldn't tell her she was insane. For she knew she must be going insane. Only a mad person would choose to live as a recluse in such a desolate place. Besides, many a 'dragon would probably consider her mad anyway, it was not normal to speak to Drakons, yet alone understand them. Moments later, Eris found herself observing the newcomer, crouched low, and, she hoped, unseen. "I wonder what's wrong with him?" she thought, watching as he ran, faster and faster, as though some unseen force were chasing him. One would think he'd tire, or slow down at least. But no, he kept accelerating, as though he could draw energy from an unknown source. Draw energy from an unknown source... ...Perhaps he could? "I have to find out" she muttered to herself. If, indeed, he knew of a spell that could grant him such energy, she needed to learn it. It could prove to be useful. Very useful. Revealing herself, Eris walked towards the stranger, waiting for him to notice her. "Stranger", she called out, "Stop. I would like a word with you." she called out.
Dark just kept on running. He knew he was closer to his destination. Each time as he felt tired, he just told himself not so far now. Just keep on going. You can do it. That kept his resolve unbreakable as he begun to increase the ferocity of his speed. He was not walking nor was he even running. He was flying now. His paws thudded lightly below him, making long powerful strides. The ebony streak was just a blur as it flew over the surface of the golden sand. He grinned happily. The joy he thought he had lost had returned at each powerful stride. He let his legs squeeze out every energy for all it was worth. Sweat glimmered over his ebony fur. Flashes of the sun glistered of the sweat giving him an appearance of a flying shadow. Hah, Dark the flying shadow of the Pwa desert! He let out a soft laughter. He could not even laugh fully since all his energy was pouring out of his body. Nothing could stop him anymore. No one could challenge him. He knew freedom now. Sweet freedom that he was tasting now. At this moment. <span style='color:blue'>"Wooo hooo!"</span> He yelled out joyfully, knowing nothing could stop him anymore. His soul soared to heights of Fronima, delighting in this pure freedom. Even if all this travelling he had done came to nothing, he cared naught about that. To die now while in this state would be his dream. Nothing chained him to this place any longer. No one binded him here. He was like the Hufc on it's beautiful flight. He let out another yell of joy that was cut short by a voice. A female voice. "Stranger. Stop. I would like a word with you." Gah! He was taken by surprise as he twisted his body trying to catch a glimpse of whoever called out. His body flipped upright twisting his now airborne legs around his body. He was tossed into the air as he extended his claws trying to get a firm grip upon the sands. Sands shifted, nothing remained here. Nothing solid at least. Thus he had nothing to secure him. Nothing to stop this aerobatic flight of his. He yelped as he tried to flip his body around. The world seemed to be upside down. Why was that? He thought quizzically. With a soft thump, he was brought down crashing unto the sands. He yelped out again as pain shot through his right shoulder. Faint footsteps were heard nearby. He tried to bring himself upright but the pain in his shoulder disabled him from doing so. Dark growled softly at this. A moment ago he was free then in an instant he was brought back to Ramath-Lehi. The dreams, the knowledge something awaited him, all that was forgotten. The freedom he felt, that was what mattered but now the freedom was shattered in a sense. <span style='color:blue'>"Time to face reality...."</span> He muttered slightly annoyed. He inhaled deeply, letting the heavy feel of the air enter his lungs. He held the breath for a moment before exhaling slowly. Almost as if he had smoked a cigarette and was exhaling at his leisure. At the end of the this "leisure" he glanced at the ground for a moment. His emerald eyes glintered with wrathful anger. Slowly he closed his eyes, trying to restore the mood he had felt earlier but failed. Bit by bit, he felt himself crumble into his rage. His claws that were extended seemed to extend even further while the muscles of his arms twitched....almost as if he was preparing to strike down whoever had shattered his freedom. An air of tension settled around him. Then it was gone within a second as he grinned mischievously. He snapped his eyes open. The anger was dispelled. Only radiating calmness showed in Dark's eyes. Dark rose from the ground and shook himself free of particles of sands that were imbedded in his fur. He grunted at the pain in shoulder but then forgot about it. A female? his eyes widened in surprise. A female out here? His mouth gaped open as if he couldn't comprehend any 'dragon being out in the Pwa desert let alone a female. What the hell was she doing here? Was his thought after recovering from the brief shock. Suddenly, he realized how stupid he was being right now. He slowly closed his mouth together and let his eyes take in the details of this 'dragon. The shock was fully gone. He was now back to his usual self. <span style='color:blue'>"Well..uh..."</span> He struggled to remember what he was going to say or what the 'dragon had called out<span style='color:blue'> "What sort of word do you want?"</span> He inquired after the female. Why was she here...no first of all, what did she want of him?. He had done nothing special, nothing of worth in this desert. Well, that was what he thought at first but then his mind was drawn back to the taste of freedom he had enjoyed. OhÂ….if only he could have it back now. He told himself to wait. There would be time later. Time...what if he was to have no time later? She could be a bandit of this desert. That was possible. Maybe the challenge he had ventured forth to the desert had eventually came. Dark inhaled slowly then smiled faintly to the 'dragon. No matter. He could hold his own against anyone. Once again he realized he was begin stupid to jump to conclusion. No, not stupid...perhaps just cautious. His body showed no indifferences to his thoughts. It looked as if Dark was lost in some sort of peaceful contemplating instead of the whirl he felt now. He waited now to see what would happen.
It was while till the stranger came to a rather brisk halt. <a href=http://shadowlack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1541>Eris</a>'s face remained emotionless, but for a familiar and extremely amused smirk tugging at her lips. She was quite pleased with herself, she had managed to disrupt his apparent euphoria, and now, instead of concentrating on Ramath knew what he would have to pay attention to her. "Look, Love. The poor thing can't seem to stand straight.", she cooed softly to her little pet, walking towards the 'dragon who lay, eyes closed, a little further away. Coming close, she was a little surprised by the anger clearly visible on his face. "Shhh... S'all right, Love." she whispered to the now fully awake and rather apprehensive Drakon, perched upon her left shoulder, hissing in threathening tones. Her brows furrowed as she studied his face. Could she be the cause of such rage? He looked as though he could kill her. Her heart stilled for a second as she began to regret her recent actions. But, as suddenly as it had come, the anger seemed to vanish from his face, and her smirk was soon back in place. "What kind of word? Well, Stranger, I was just curious as to why a young lad like yourself would be running like you were." "And how, too." she thought to herself, "S'not often that you get to see any new faces around here." Her large eyes gleamed with excitement as she thought of all she would able to do with such a spell. That is, if the spell did exist. "But it must...", she insisted, "What other explanation could there be?"
Dark watched her smirk. It was mildly annoying but nothing he could do about. After all it was her body. His eyes moved from her smirk to that strange Drakon. It seemed to dislike him intensely by the way it hissed at him. Maybe it was just protective of it's owner, if she did indeed own it. He knew nought of it's gender so refered to the Drakon as it. He sighed softly as he gazed at it. He wondered how she came to be with it's company and why was she out here in the scorching desert. What if she was not alone but instead had came to distract him while others lay in ambush? His face visibly scowled in discontent while his tail swung wildly as if to "swear" at those who might be spying on him. His eyes narrowed slightly, the emerald eyes flashing with with something of a mixture between "a warning" and "tenseness". After his shattered freedom, he was not really prepared to take on any attacks of any kind. The thought that attackers may be here was broken by the 'dragon speaking. "What kind of word? Well, Stranger, I was just curious as to why a young lad like yourself would be running like you were. S'not often that you get to see any new faces around here." Young lad? It was clear that he was not that young, still appearance can be deceiving after all. He re-focused his gaze at her trying to determine her age. His emerald eyes lost the flashing earlier and instead seem to study her with an intensity while Dark merely stood there, his body not moving except for the sway of his tail. Slowly, he lead his eyes upwards from her body to her large eyes. They seemed to draw you in somehow. "<span style='color:blue'>How would i know? This is only the first time i been here....</span>" Dark replied while shrugging lightly, giving the appearance of one who didn't care at all if this desert was a place to party or to starve from the lack of water. He had deliberately ignored her question to why he was running out here. Running....he needed water to quench his burning thrist. The thought of water that sped across his mind only reminded him of his parched throat that cried out for water. Sheesh, he needed just one drop to silence it. That could wait for later but he carried nothing with him except for his necklace....For a second his left paw inched up torward's his neck to gently stroke the necklace as if caressing it lovingly. In an instant that paw was dangling by his side. "<span style='color:blue'>"What are you doing here anyway?"</span>" Dark inquired after her. He was indeed curious to the answer to that question. He regarded the 'dragon intensely. He waited patiently for her to answer. His mind was half-way between listening to her and thinking about the freedom he had enjoyed. Nothing of his dreamily state showed upon his face. OOC: Sorry for the short-ness and lame-ness of this post >.<
"He's not answering my question !", she thought angrily. Her face, though, remained impassive, smirk still in place. "Well, my calling him 'young lad' seems to have puzzled him enough. He looks none too happy about that." she mused, smiling inwardly. Though she hadn't said it on purpose, she now realised that she had been testing his pride. How would he react if an obviously younger 'dragon than himself, a female no less, addressed him in such a condescending way? Curious, she studied him absently, not knowing what to expect. Embarrassement, anger, maybe even amusement, who knew what reaction he would have? Whatever it might be, it would give her a better understanding of the 'dragon that stood before her, and might come in uselful in the near future. Like her, he seemed to keep his feelings to himself, yet she could see the curiosity in his eyes as he looked at her appraisingly. Her eyes grew wide as they met his, and for a second she forgot to smirk, forgot to hide her true self. She silently cursed her eyes, eyes that, unlike the rest of her body, would not lie for her. Such intensity in his gaze, as though he had wanted to break her defenses and figure out what she was really about ! "Well, he succeeded all right." she thought bitterly. How could she be so weak? How could she allow him to startle her like that? She was the one supposed to be learning more about him, not the opposite. Wary of his gaze, she blinked and looked away, scared that, after that 'incident' he might some how be able to see through her mask. She had to regain control of herself somehow, or all would be lost. Awaiting the inevitable question she knew would follow, she absently petted the now somewhat calmer reptile, still refusing to look at him. <span style='color:blue'>""What are you doing here anyway?"" </span> Gah, this was not going well. Not at all. She was the one who was supposed to ask questions, not the other way round... Perhaps she had underestimated him. Yes, that was it. Forcing her head to turn his way, she answered. "Well, Stranger, I often ask myself that very same question. Quite honestly, I not all that sure myself." she said uneasily. "I guess I needed time to myself, you know, to think things over... She paused, feeling that she had said to much and quickly added, I realise we haven't been properly introduced, my name's Eris."
OOC: Gah! Just letting you know that I am alive and that I will edit a reply once I get home. I am currently in school >.< Sorry for the long delay.
