Mint looked up at the blue sky, looking at the sun shining brightly upon the sands of the Pwa Desert. She padded through the sands with little courage. She was searching for something, yet she was not sure what. Maybe it had to do with her mother's death that had happened many years ago. It had happened here, in the desert. She realized then the real reason for all her plans to come out here. She was searching for the shack her mother had lived in. That was the only place in which Mint could remember a few things about her long ago past.

The femme 'dragon continued to walk through the hot sun, unaware of the time or the day, not knowing how long she had been walking or how many times she had stopped to mourn. Lora, Mint's mother was a good 'dragon, though Mint didn't know this and she loved Mint very much.

Mint finally stopped to drink her water but knew that she wouldn't stop until she had found the shack. As night fell over the desert, sending hues of black and gold and blue, Mint's paw hit something in the sand. It was a skeleton. The skeleton had tattered clothes on, barely able to make out as clothes. Mint laid by the skeleton to examine it before continuing her journey. She started a fire, planning to rest here for the night. Once the light from the burning flames hit the 'dragon skeleton, Mint nearly fainted and mourned for hours before drifting off into a mournful sleep. You might be wondering why she would act so, on the tattered clother lie the nametag that read, Lora Forgd, Mint's mother.

  2. Kien Amednu was getting a little tired of flying. What a place to get tired in! Below her, she could only see sand, sand and sand. The day was hot and her charcoal coat wasn't going to stay in a neutral temparature for very long. Her mind was thinking about the fresh bottle of water in her bag. Maybe she should learn how to teleport instead of just flying around blindly. She was exploring again, looking for new things and new songs. She would have gladly stop but she urged herself to go on because she was out on a school week and she wanted to be back as soon as possible. She looked forward to the night as it was always cold in the night.

Soon night began to fall and she was still flying in the sky. Her wings felt more tired than before. But at least the temparature had begun to drop. Then somewhere in the deserted desert, she saw a speck of glowing orangy red. Her sensitive ears picked up a mournful sound but she couldn't make out what creature it was. Angling her wings, she slowly went down. Curious and not even a little afraid, she reached the mourning sound and the glowing red. Her grey hind paw touched the ground. She had landed. Kien noticed that the mourning sound came from a dark coloured pendragon but it had stopped now as the 'dragon had drifted off into sleep. The red speck she saw when she was in the sky was the fire that the green 'dragon had started.

She spotted a skeleton nearby and looked at the 'dragon. She knew that the sleeping creature didn't live in the desert and that the skeleton wasn't her lost travelling friend or of the sort. The skeleton looked old. Older than the 'dragon that was sleeping. She was deciding on leaving the scene. But one look at Mint's dehydrated state, Kien stayed. She sat beside the other, waiting for her to wake up. She didn't know what she'd do or whether this pendragon spoke her language but she decided that she'd try to help the 'dragon whom had mourned only minutes ago.

  3. Mint must have awoken as Kien landed, otherwise I can not explain why she suddenl awoke. Mint's green eyes darted around the dark night trying to remember where she was and what she had been doing here. In one glance she saw the nametag and the skeleton and groaned pulling herself into a better position. As she turned her back away from the skeleton she noticed another 'dragon siting very near her.

The other 'dragon had soft brown eyes and her fur was mostly black with an elegant 'V' shaped 'necklace' around her neck. For a moment Mint merely looked at the 'dragon, still not fully awake and slightly confused. Finally she spoke,

Hello...erm...I'm Mint...What are you doing out here?

Mint felt strange around this other 'dragon, slightly nervous as though Mint herself held a secret that she was dying to tell someone but couldn't. This of course wasn't true but that was the way Mint felt either way.

  4. Kien was staring at the blazing fire, remembering her past, and hadn't realized that the olive coloured 'dragon had awoke. When Mint spoke, she got startled and her hand automatically reached for her dagger which was on her belt. She turned around and thought herself silly as it was only the 'dragon that she wanted to help who had spoken.

Smiling to herself and shaking her head, she moved her hand away from the dagger. "Hi! I'm Kien... Kien Amednu," she said. Then, she took out her bottle of water from her beat up bag and gave it to Mint. "I was flying when I noticed a glow in the sand. I came down and found you lying here beside the fire. You look like you hadn't drank in days! Here, drink some water before you dehydrate." And from the light, she could see that Mint was not a normal pendragon. Kien noticed her antennae-like ears. She had never met a Kosa before and she just sat there for a minute, looking at the long ears before coming back to her senses.

She set the bottle in front of Mint, not really caring if the other drank or not or if Kien herself was dehydrating. She was looking at the skeleton that Mint had slept so close to. "Do you know that person?" she asked, hoping she wouldn't upset the olive coloured femme.

  5. Mint nodded as Kien spoke her muzzle slowly moving up and down and once Kien had handed her the bottle she picke di up and drank two large gulps, not wanting to finish it all, so that Kien could have some.

When Kien asked if Mint knew of the skeleton Mint merely answered

     Yes, it's my mother's.

She wasn't crying or weeping or sobbing as she spoke, she had already cried enough and now she was in the presence of another 'dragon so she had to make a good first impression.

  6. An orange 'dragon trundled about sand dunes. His breath was stolen from his body as the sand and wind whipped about him. His wings were folded tight against his back. The sand storm kept him from opening them. He fell to his knees and curled into a ball, his pack hidden 'neath him.

He stayed in that position till after nightfall. the storm had died considerably. He lifted his head and spotted a short distance away, a small orange-red light. A fire he thought. Maybe there's someone that can help me.

He stood up and sand fell from his body in streams. Sand remained stuck to his body and in his hair. As he neared the flame, his anubal ears picked up the voices of two talking fems. He walked t'words them. Right before he spoke, he launched into a fit of coughing as his body fought to dispell the sand. A mix of sand and blood came from his mouth as it fell to the floor. he fell to his knees again and placed his hands on the sand as well to support himself.

  7. The moment Kien heard the femme's answer, she felt a tug somewhere inside her. Memories of the past came rushing back at her. One of them including her mother. She never really thought much about her past. But here in the cold night desert, with a skeleton nearby that was Mint's mother, with Kien so tired and exhausted from her trip, her mind took her back to the past she had pushed so far back. She never wanted to remember them because most of it involved death.

She marveled to the fact that Mint didn't weep or show any emotion when she answered. But then again, she had mourned before Kien had arrived. She must have used up all the liquid inside her. Kien opened her maw to say a little 'I'm sorry' but was interupted by something or someone moving in the shadows. She turned, squinting her eyes, willing it to adjust to the darkness. Again, her hand reached for her dagger. Then suddenly she heard a coughing fit and a male, coat so easily seen now because of the fire, came into view. Something liquid and what looked like blood, fell to the ground near by Kien and saw the male fall to the ground. Seeing that the stranger was pretty weak, Kien put her dagger away. She studied the stranger, wondering if she could help his weakened state. But she was no healer. She didn't know what to do.

"Take a sit," she told the orange male. Then, picking up the bottle which Mint had drank from and left a few litres, Kien gave the stranger. "You should drink. Being in a desert in a state such as yours isn't good. May I ask, what had happened to you?"

  8. Mint had been looking into the fire when the orange 'dragon came. She had been trying to remember what her mother had looked like, which was a sad thing for someone to do. She felt terrible, she couldn't remember anything about her mother, her mother's eyes, her fur, nothing.

Mint looked up looking a little disgusted at the blood running from the orange 'dragon's maw. Mint looked around through her bag trying to find something useful.

I have a small amount of meat in here if you want some...but I warn you it may be old.

As Mint spoke she held out the piece of meat near the 'dragon's vomiting mouth so that he could see it and would know that it was there. He could be disoriented and might not be able to smell at the moment. Mint thought of these things as she held out the meat.

  9. He removed his hand from in front of his mouth and smiled weakly at the two. A thin trail of blood still dribbled from his mouth. Forgive my rudeness. he stated before grabbing away both the water container and meat. He drank some water and settled on a different side of the fire from them. He promptily began eating the meat with vigor interspersing it with draughts from the water. He took one last sip and swished it around his mouth before spitting it onto the sand. He wiped the blood from his mouth and sighed before handing back the water bottle with some water still inside. He looked up at them. Forgive my intrusion and rudeness again. My name is Hakaras, or Ras for short if you wish. I was caught in a sand storm when I came out here to do a little sketching. I got lost. Your fire caught my attention and saved my life. So I thank you both for that and offering me substanance. he said all of that without stopping. During the last bit his eyes had fallen to watch the fire burn the logs.

  10. Mint added a few more twigs to the fire looking over at Ras. She winced when he explained that he had gotten caught in a sandstorm. She had done that once before and it had not been a fun experience.

     No problem! I'm Mint.

Mint was glad that she had lit the fire, she doubted that Ras would have survived if he hadn't gotten 'substanance'. She smiled at him looking down woridly at the almost empty bottle of water.

Either we all leave or we find more food and drink, cause we're almost out.

  13. "Well, if you feel alittle better," she said to Ras. "We should get moving and out of this place.

She peered and studied at the male. Making sure he was alright.

Mint rose picking up her pack taking a quick look down at the skeleton before helping Ras up.

Your probably not ready to walk yet Ras but I don't think it would be a good idea to plit up, there are bandits and such out here. The moment we find nourishment we'll stop and rest.
