1. Tessera 81379

Shadow stared at his hands, she was gone, the one consistency in his life was gone. His eyes were burning.

    Must not cry...

He shouted in his head. Paws clenched as he felt blood drawn from his palms. Why had she died? He had only realised a few hours ago when the psycic link had been torn from his head. The pain was unimaginable. Who had done it to her?!

Shadow sat there for seemed like hours, tears flowing and stemming as he regained sanity and lost it in sadness, Mindlessly his claws dug at the tree he was sitting on, wearing away the bark and the wood until the sap bled onto his paw, sticking the fur together in a disgusting matt. His tail flame was no bigger than a small fly, flickering in and out of existance.

  2. Veaji was having a wonderful dream about steaks and fishes of the sea. She was having endless supply of them. They were raw and fresh...
Then came the scratching sound. Being the light sleeper she was, her eyes partially open, trying to close back because of the daylight. Where was she?

The first thing she saw was green. A leaf? Yeah, definately a leaf. She tried to get up and nearly fell off the branch she was sleeping on. Her paw and tail wrapped around the branch just in time to prevent her the gravity pull to the ground. She recked her brain to try to remember what she was doing here and where is this place. After several seconds, a bulb lit up in her head and she remembered that she came here to escape. What a place. she muttered to herself.

The scratching sound was still consistent. She looked around, her stomach growling. Maybe that was prey. And where there is prey, her stomach would shut up. Her auds turned towards the sound. It was coming from a nearby tree... somewhere.

Jumping to another tree with skill and stealth, she tried to spot the resource. Finally, she could only see a dim light. A tail flame? Well, that was certaintly no creature to be messing with. However, she was going to push her luck. She just wanted her stomach to shut up. Now she made her way to the tree the creature was on. Her muscles tensed and she was ready to attack. 3...2...1... She pounced.

  3. Shadow snapped out from trance as he felt muscle throw him off his perch. Relfex held the attacker at the throat, claws ready to slice open its' windpipe. Veaji. His sore eyes widened as he released her throat, waiting for her to rise from her position, and get off of him.

    ...sorry...

he managed finally wih a grimace as he flexed a painful paw. He still wanted to cry, even now. Talking was hard, his voice lower and more husky than it had ever been. Words felt raw, and in his ears rung out with the mental pain he was in. Propping his wings up so he was semi sitting, he tried a smile.

  4. Claws were at her throat in another instant and when it released her, she was surprised to see who she was looking at. The 'dragon she knew and still knows look dead. Or maybe worst than dead. Veaji can't make up her mind but she know's he looks dead inside... somewhere. When she last left him he was way better. She got off him and settled herself beside him on the branch. He didn't sound so good either.

No, I should be the one apologizing. I thought you were prey. she said. For a pregnant pause, she studied him. Not bothering if what she was about to say would hurt or not, she decided to say the facts anyway, You look worst than a beggar in a street. What happened to you?

  5. Shadows' mouth opened and shut, his eyes showing nothing except pain. He wanted to say... but did she care? Of course, she did. Right?

    I lost... someone... close

The words were the end of his denial, for hours he had tried to convince himself that it wasn't true, that morichai still lived, He lost the only normality in his life. He cleched his matted paw again, digging it, somewhat discreetly into the ground, hoping that he could forget, like everything else that happened in his life.

    i needed to get away...

  6. I lost... someone... close

Something tugged at her heart. What was it? Pity? Sympathy? Empathy? Or was it something else? Veaji wasn't one who was in touch with her feelings. She prefer to be numb. But whatever the feeling was, she was sure she understand how Shadow feels. Heck, she lost almost everyone in her life.

She came down from the branch and placed a paw on one of Shadow's hand. Stop hurting yourself. she said. Then she had an idea. It might not work but she needed this 'dragon to feel a little more calm than he is. Can you at least walk? Follow me.

She tugged at him and tried to make him move.

  7. Of course i can walk...

Shadow said more harshly than he had meant. Giving her an apoligetic glance he followed. Where were they going? Not that he cared anyway. He hadn't even said hello yet. His tail dragged slightly on the ground, dirtying the fur.

  8. Veaji wanted to snap back at him. She just wanted to help. But she reminded herself after his apologetic glance that he was in pain and she needed some patience for this behaviour. Wasn't she like that once?

She led him deeper into the jungle. Deeper, deeper, and soon they came to a clearing and right in the middle was a waterfall spewing forth it's never ending supply of water into the small lake below. The place gave a calm atmosphere and nothing else can be heard except for the rushing falls and an occasional song from a bird. She chose a spot beside the waters and sat down.

Sit down.she gestured to the spot beside her. I came here once when I was mourning. It was a long time ago but I never forget this place. It sort of helped me get rid part of my pain. Veaji knew that a pain of an individual would go away for different reasons. However, she hoped that this would work for Shadow too.

You should take a dip into the waters too. she said after a quick survey of the 'dragon beside her.

  9. Shadow was still sad, but the place he looked upon was beautiful, Morichai would have loved this place... he thought, bringing painful memories back to his skull. finally he sat down beside veaji.

    .....sorry i snapped its' just....

he sighed, trying to find the words. failing, he sighed again. looking around for a conversation of sorts. The birds continued to twitter in the trees around him as he stared blankly outwards. it sprung to him... why was she here?

so... what brings you to the jungle?

he asked idily, feeling a tiny part more relaxed.

[OOC] sorry its so short i only have one hand at the mo, other ones in a sling... =@.@=

  10. Out of Character

Eep! I hope you're healing well. ^_^ Don't strain yourself!

Tis okay. Veaji replied Shadow after his apology. She dipped her two hind paws into the water, enjoying the coolness of it. It was nice, just sitting there, peace and quiet. She was enjoying the moment.

Enjoying it until Shadow had to ask the question, that is. Veaji tensed and her brain worked furiously to think up of an excuse on what she was doing in the middle of the jungle. "I'm here cause the city's noisy, someone's coming after me and I don't feel like murdering right now. Oh, and the main reason is that I don't have a place to stay." Veaji replayed that in her head and decided to keep it to herself.

Just visiting. The city is a little too crowded. she finally said.

Wanna swim? she asked after pause.

  11. i dont see the harm in that...

Shadow replied, Feeling a smidge better than he had in a while. Idily he hung his matted paw in the water, watching the distortion swirl about. He deciced to accept her reason for being there, Not that he would complain about her company.

    shall we swim?

A weak smile passed his lips as he splashed his tail into the water. It had been ages since he last swam, And the crystal water looked as deep as the lake at magi. The place was a rare find.

  12. Veaji nodded in reply. She loved to swim, although she don't do it often. She walked into the water and walked deeper till the water level is somewhere below her neck. She moved her legs and tail to help her stay afloat.

Have you ever found a cave before? she asked out of the blue. The water felt refreshing and cold against her skin and she felt more wide awake than just now.

  13. Shadow looked at her as though he was using her as an object to remind himself. He made a few huffing sounds before finally speaking.

One at Magi lake but thats it...

Splashing into the water without much in the way of grace, he swam further in. The cool water was refreshing, and was revitalising his mind.

    Why do you ask?

  14. Veaji swam a little towards the waterfall.

I found one before... but I can't remember where. I stashed some mon- wait. Why was she telling him this? Nobody was supposed to know.

Just some stuff. she finished the sentence she halted on. She turned around to face him, offering him a small smile. Hopefully, he wouldn't prod further.

Her stomach growled. Have you eaten yet?

  15. He managed to smile back at her, He stashed things aswell, Especially at Magi Lake, Looked like she was as bad as him for hiding things. He wouldn't prod further, it was her business. He followed her a bit towards the waterfall Diving under a few times. The place was riddled with fish of all types, Maybe they could catch something to eat!? After staying under for a few minutes he splashed up from the cool retreat, His stomach had that empty feeling. It was one of the bothers of being a Vamp/were mix... he still needed food aswell as blood.

Actually i haven't eaten... and i'm guessing you havent either...

He gave her a small smile.

Think you can handle an array of fish from these waters?

And as if by magick, a fish jumped out of the water nearby.

  16. Fish?

Veaji's eyes lit up when she saw the jumping fish. Forgetting her companion for a moment, Veaji slowly moved towards where the fish came out from.

The water was clear so it was easy to see the many fish that swam and feast on things smaller than them. They actually looked happy. Pity some of them had to die, Veaji thought. However, she felt no guilt nor sympathy. All she felt was an empty stomach.

Tail raised high in the air, body bent, she waited for the perfect moment. Her eyes were intently focused. Suddenly, her paw swiped below the waters and came back up to the surface with a wriggling fish. She flung it to the bank and there, it struggled for life. It wasn't a big catch nor it was a tiny one.

Turning her head back to the waters, she picked her next victim.

Shadow, she finally said. How many do you think you can eat?

  17. Hmm...probably all of them... but lets just say as many as we can get before starvation...

Shadow smiled, forgetting for a moment his pain. Poised with a stun spell ready - The big rainbow one was the one that was getting it - he blinked slowly and the spark sought out the multi-coloured delight, it floated up to the surface and he quickly flicked it to the side, it flopping onto the bank. He was majorly impressed with Veajis' way of catching the fish, For one without any breed advantages, she sure had the reflex action of one - a vampire that is.

lets leave a few alive though...

He added jokingly while Picking out a small shoal of silver fish to get a shock next. After these he'd try with his paws rather than his magick.

  18. Veaji nodded in reply. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Shadow and this magic. It was nice, using that method, not to mention much much easier, but Veaji was a little rusty in hers for she had not use them much. Making a mental note to herself that she needed practise with her supernatural powers, she swiped her paws into the waters again. And again, emerged with another wriggling fish which she quickly tossed to the bank.

Her method was in sequence, really. Pick, swipe, throw. Pick, swipe, throw. Her claws were sharp enough to pierce her victims' body to hold on to it. Once she thinks she had enough, she looked up from her hunt. 16 fishes on the bank, all were in different colors.

I think I'm done. she told Shadow, waving to the pile of flopping fish. Then, she made her way to her feed.

  19. Shadow nodded as he deciced to throw his current plan of one fish by one. And threw a few more up to the bank with the pile. It looked as though they had thirty or more by now.

    that enough?

He asked half serious, Looking at the wriggling mass in wonder. A pile of silver and gold, every colour under the sun....

  20. Impressed she was in Shadow's catch, she didn't let it show. Some part of her felt a little... small? Intimidated? For her pile of catch was much smaller then Shadow's.

Are you sure you let some of the fishes live? she asked, a raised eyebrow at the flip-flopping pile the size of a mountain.

Tempted though she was in sinking her teeth into the fresh food, she refrained. Her mother's teachings in manners surely did not go to waste on Veaji. She set herself down beside the masive pile and looked up at her companion who was, like her, dripping wet.

The question is... Are these enough for you? she asked, reffering to, of course, his massive size. Well, maybe he wasn't that massive, but he is bigger than her.

    So... shall we start?
