Timestamp: Tessara 25th Character: Kama Teslo Location: Out in a grove of trees behind the school BIC: Kama was lying down at the base of a tree, his head resting up against it. He was dozing off for a few moments, a few hours, however long it took for Jahhar to arrive with his "mystery" message, whatever it could be. Kama was a bit cynical towards this so called "Mystery" message. Especially since he had to abandon his research on a criminal to come hear it. Kama checked his watch... Jahhar's class would let out any minute. Hopefully the message wouldn't take long to hear. Kama was anxious to get back to his work. He cracked open one of his closed eyes and looked towards the school building that was many yards away. The tall uncut grass and a few fallen tree branches partially blocked Kama's view of the school. OOC: Lucian, your char can have the book. Posting order arranges itself as people post. Enjoy.
Character: Sejv Sejv walked though the courtyard on his usual business, he was a magical items broker and treasure hunter yet in school he was strictly a salesman. He had acquired a few more books and was trying to sell them off fast, one in particular has received a large amount of interested and he was trying to bid the competitors off against each other so he achieved maximum price for it. He sat down on a bench under and tree and breathed in deeply, he had recently come to the conclusion that the courtyard had a very strong magical aura. One of his hobbies was trying to find places of strong magical power and then finding out why, he was currently trying to discern whether was from the tress and children or whether it was from the layout of the building while his hands ran over the cover of one of hsi books. The desert book.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>Who:Dewlap Meldilane</td></tr></table> Dewlap had been sitting in a tree, she had gotten this day off and it was also the end of the school day, she had finishedher homework and was relaxing. She looked down and spotted Sejv, he looked familiar, maybe she taught him something at one point. She sighed and decided to stay there, he had a book she saw that, but she wanted to find out witch one. She was eating a strawberry from the garden, she had asked for it but forgot these make you sleepy. She hoped she wouldn't fall out of the tree, beacause she'd fall on him.
Kama heard Sevj walking around in the grove of trees not too far from where he, himself was. Kama sat up and watched this dragon with slight interest. He had no business with this dragon, however, so didn't bother calling out to him. By chance, Kama also noticed Dewlap resting in the tree above Sejv. The dragon resting in the tree was a shade of pure white, similar to that of Jahhar. As Kama's thoughts lingered towards Jahhar, he shook his head. Where was his brother? Kama's cellphone suddenly rang. He wasted no time in picking it up. "Hello?" asked Kama in a low voice, so he didn't attract attention to himself. "Kama?" came the voice on the other end. "This is Jahhar, sorry, somethings came up and I can't meet you as planned. Its.... Homework....." Kama sighed, "If you insist that you cannot stop by for even a minute, then so be it." Kama got up from his lying position and moved behind a tree to make sure that the other two dragons couldn't hear him. "Meet me here tommorow, same time." "Got it, see you later." "You too, good luck on your homework as well." "Thanks, bye." Kama hung up his cellphone and sighed. Time wasted... Kama put his cellphone back into his pocket and walked out of the grove of trees. His mind lingering on the phone call, Kama wasn't paying attention and stumbled over the edge of the bench Sejv was sitting on. Whether by mere coincidence or strange magical forces, the desert book that Sejv was holding flew from his arms onto the ground. Kama gritted his teeth in the slight pain that ran through his foot before turning to Sejv. "Sorry, let me get your book for you," he spoke before bending over to pick up the book. The book was pitch black with strange gold engravings on it. They weren't that of the Ramathian language either... strange...
Sejv sat quitly on his bench mulling over the book, his hands ran up and down its engravings tracing their outlings with his fingers. He had noticed the snow white thill above him in the tree, her colours stood out blatently fromt he green and brown of the plant life. She was slightly older than him but he didnt think it was by much, she looked like someone he knew in his school days however he was too preocupied to go down memory lane. His hands felt a sudden tingle on the book as some stranger began to walk past, his gaze was fixed to the book though so looking up wasnt an option. THen the book practicaly flew out of his hands while he in the middle of shock and frustraction while his hands scambled after it. The book landed on the ardens foot and the guy gritted his teeth and said somthing, "Yes sorry about that" Sejv said somewhat slowly and ful of cuation, he knew magic books were unstable but that was rather peculia. HE quickly grabed the book before the arden could and held it firmly. One hand quickly brushed down the book from the grass and leafs that covered it, his eyes scanned it for any damage yet he sighed in relief to see it unscathed. He should have know such a powerful book would be more duriable.
She hung upside down to get a better look at the book and muttered <span style='color:purple'>That book holds great magic...</span> She leaned closer, but not to bump Sejv, and suddenly lost her grip and fell out of the tree and behind the bench with a loud, painful souding thud. She shifted into and upright position and rubbedher head, it was throbbing. Her wings were covered in dirt, and that drove her nuts because it takes her hours to clean them. She looked at them, they havn't noticed her...yet. She stood up and brushed off looking at the two boys, who were staring at the book.
At the sound of the thud of Dewlap falling to the ground, Kama turned his attention from the desert book to Dewlap. "Gooday," spoke Kama abruptly to Dewlap. He had nothing more to say, however, and was very curious about this book, so he returned his attention to the book that Sejv had kept him from picking up by grabbing it first. The first meeting of these three dragons was akward, and Kama had trouble thinking of anything to say. "I don't believe I have met either of you," Kama finally spoke up. "My name is Kama of the Teslo family. What are your names?" OOC: don't worry about trying to make long posts for your next post. Things will clear up once we get into the plot, just bear with me for now.
Sejv held the book tightly in his grip making sure there would be no repeat of its moving abilities. However his attention was taken when the girl fell out of the tree above him, he held back a full on laugh but instead a half smirk appeared on his face. He would have offered to help her but in his opinion she shouldnÂ’t have been in the tree anyways, or she should have used her wings. He knew he was being a bit heartless yet the book antics had put him in a foul mood and he didnÂ’t feel like trying to be gallant today. He looked back at Karma who had just introduced himself to the little cluster yet Sejv was somewhat suspicious of him, he kept thinking that he was interested in the book. Then it dawned on Sejv that another person interested in it could mean more money for his sale of the thing which he was getting slightly more eager to do anyway. Putting on his smile and offering out his hand. "IÂ’m Sejv of the Massit family, nice to meet you" he said in his friendly yet formal tone. Despite his urge to research the book more he didnÂ’t like the affect the book had on him.
<span style='color:purple'>I'm Dewlap, of the Meldilane family</span> she said. She stood up and brushed herself off. Rotating her wings in the sockets to make sure they wernt broken she sighed.
OOC: very odd, I thought I posted OOC that I would be gone for the weekend.... nevertheless.... BIC: Kama nodded slowly. He then looked down at the patch of grass that the book had landed on. No longer was there grass in that spot. Now there was a small patch of sand where the book had landed. When Kama realized such, he was midly startled, however, he had seen stranger things before... "Where did you say you got that book?" questioned Kama, looking back up towards Sevj. Not waiting for an answer, he knelt down beside the patch of sand, picking up a handful and sniffing it. Where the book had lain, the ground had become a patch of barren desert. The sand was odorless. He stood back up and moved his hand over the top of the book, as if he might possibly learn something about the book that his eye couldn't tell him. As his hand came to lay on the dark book with gold engravings, it turned to sand and the sand poured from Sevj's hands. As the sand hit the ground, it reformed into its normal book shape again. "I've... never seen a book do that," spoke Kama, who was startled. As he knelt down, a sudden gust of wind blew the cover of the book open. In an eery manner, winds picked up and the sky clouded over. The pages of the book were rapidly turned as the wind was blown over them. "What... is this book?" spoke Kama to Sevj his voice being carried by the winds which grew fiercer by the second.
Sejv held the book tightly as the new customer Kama seemed to take an healthy interest in it, yet money was money and he very rarely turned down customers. Yet he didnÂ’t like the way this Kama likeed to poke the thing. As He asked his question he was already reaching out to touch but Sejv decided that since he would be buying it he was allowed. "Well I didnÂ’t say where I got and I cant, its a policy to never revile my suppliers" He said with some intrigue, he liked to sound mysterious yet near the end of his sentence Karmas hands where touching the runes on the book. SejvÂ’s grip suddenly turned into a fist full of sand as the book morphed and fell through his finger re forming. Sejv was more than just mildly surprised now he was very worried, something was activating the books magical properties and he didnÂ’t have a clue how to reverse the process, his research was still unfinished. The wind was picking up and the books pages were flapping around wildly, it may have looked like wind to everyone else yet Sejv could clearly see through his trained eyes the magical energy streaming through the air, lines upon lines of dark and sinister colours. "Oh this is bad, the book is erm......... doing magic." He said with a lot of trepidation filling his tone. He didnÂ’t want to put the buyer off but this was a very bad situation, the book was from one of his exploits into the Anubi territory and he was chased out with magic and spears last time. That book was important. He fired up his magic around his hands, yellow and gold flames surrounded his hands and he jumped to his feet ready for some summoned creature.
She watched the book, it was doing something close to black magic and hypnotism, because no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't look away. The book also looked familiar, only vaghely though. She could have sworn she saw this book the last time she viseted the Pwa Desert, it looked like it coul've originated there.
Kama closed his eyes slightly as a dust storm was brought up. Dust was throw all over the place. The winds grew very strong. Kama could hardly hear anything but the storm "How do we make is stop?!" shouted Kama over the howl of the storm. When he didn't get an imediate answer, he tooks the situation into his own hands. He bent down, and moved towards the book. As he got closer to the book, he saw the pages flipping in the wind. They had strange pictures of things he was unfamiliar with. A map, bio's of creatures, spells. Kama quickly reached out his hands and slammed the book shut Everything went black. Kama searched around. He couldn't see anything and was not sure what happened. He pulled a small flashlight off of his belt that he always wore. He turned it on and moved the light around the place he was in. He was in a giant room made out of sandstone. It was mostly in the shape of a rectangle. He also saw Sevj and Dewlap in the room. What had happened. The book had teleported the three of them?
Sejv was in the middle of casting some random counter spell when Kama slammed the book shut. Suddenly his world span and everything went black, the spinning sensation felt like his stomach was going to come out his throat and he felt his eyes roll. The as abruptly as it had came it ended, his feelings slowly came back while his eyes began to focus in the dark light, pupils dilating slowly. A sharp shaft of yellow light came perking through the gloom out of Kama's torch forcing his eyes to squint around. "Ah that was more than just unpleasant" He groaned before he remembered the others. "Everybody else ok" He said, slight concern in his voice even though he already knew Kama was more or less alright. He was also gazing around the room at the same time, scanning the place for any clues on their location. Everything was dusty and dank, the walls seemed to have markings on them while the odd faint sounds could be heard echoing down the corridors. He did not like this place.
Picking herself up she glanced around "<span style='color:purple'>Some secret teple possibly, I've read many a book on the buildings of the world, but never saw this one</span>" she said. She shuddered, that book possibly belonged to the gaurdians, if it was anubian, she knew quite a few gaurdians in fact. "<span style='color:purple'>I know one thing, that book is well cursed</span>" she knew she was pointing out the obvious but didn't really care.
Kama growled in frusteration. "I don't have time to be here... I don't care about the book. How do we get out of here?" He ran the light over his body to make sure that he hadn't been injured in some way. He wasn't. He only had with him a light, a handgun with two clips, and a combat knife. He needed to get out of this temple or whatever Dewlap called it. He began searching along the walls of the room. They walls were made out of a type of sandstone. As he ran his hands over the walls, he felt a spot that was slightly crumbling. He stepped back from it and shone his light on it The wall looked a bit worn down in that particular spot. Kama sidekicked the wall. The wall tried to give away but still stood. Kama kicked it again and the wall crumbled in some parts. He pushed over the remaining wall and looked out into the dark cavern. His light barely seemed to pierce the darkness which seemed to devour light. "Guys, I don't know how we are going to get out of here, but I think we should stick together no matter what happens." Kama turned and shone the light on his two companions to see whether or not they agreed with him.
Sejv nearly bust out laughing at Kama's little "I donÂ’t have time for this" talk, who honestly had time to be teleported to some strange, dust temple by a cursed book. Honestly. However unlike Kama, Sejv did care about that book, he didnÂ’t want it sold any more, he had decided quite firmly that the book belonged in the possession of the mage's guild where it could go under father study. "Ah well finding that book would be nice, I can think of a few tests I could run on it." Sejv said absentmindedly, Sejv had no intention of helping Kama with the muscle man rutuen. Kicked down walls was just not his forte, instead Sejv was exploring his magical capabilities in this new place. He was trying to manipulate with magical flow yet this place seemed to damped it, the walls seemed to have the same effect as obsidian on magic. Obsidian of course was famous for being remarkble null to the effects of magic. Sejvs fingers instead found his sword, something else that was buried in the enormous space of his robes. He pulled the thing out and witched it glint around the little light coming off Kama's light. "Sure thing chief" He said about staying together, he had no intention of wandering of alone. Either his ears where playing tricks on him or they where not long in the place, the occasional scuttling sounds and tapping constantly plagued his ears putting his nerves further on edge.
bored she began to hum a song, she didn't care how long they were down here, as long as no one died. She hoped that no one called he to a class, so she silenced the cellphone she kept in her pocket. She was still somewhat groggy from that strawberry.
Kama took notice of the strange scuttling as well. He lifted a hand and slowly pointed it towards the roof of the building. "Do you hear that?" he spoke to both Sevj and Dewlap. "Are we.... alone?" He wandered outside of the hole a little ways and then stopped. Directly outside of the hole that he had broken into the wall, there was a pathway that moved sharply to the left. If one was to wander off of the pathway, he would fall into an endless abyss. Kama pointed the flashlight off of the side of the walkway. His light wouldn't reach the bottom of whatever pit was at the impending bottom of the cavern. However, he could hear what sounded like a geyser off in the distance. Odd, what would a Geyser be doing in the middle of a cave such as this one? He stepped back into the small room with Dewlap and Sevj and shook his head. "Whatever is up there, I doubt it can get to us. Let's find out way out of this... place." He was anxious to get out of this temple. It gave him a terrible feeling. "Also... when we get out of here and I get my hands on that cursed book..." He growled at the book which had put him in this situation. He would hire some magician to destroy the wretched thing after he got out of this cave and found the book. Kama stepped out of the room and began to walk down the pathway. He assumed that the others were following him. Kama couldn't shake the feeling that eyes were watching him. He didn't know form where though. On the left side of the pathway was a solid sandstone wall. the path went ahead until Kama couldn't see any farther. Off to the right of the pathway was darkness and the endless, black abyss. As Kama made his way down the path, it eventually took a sharp 90 degree right turn. Kama kept following it until he came to a dead end. There was a break in the path. Kama shone his flashlight across the break. About 3 meters away from the break, the path continued. Strangely enough, the break looked intentional. As Kama put his foot near the edge of the break, he felt something under his foot. He knelt down and found a dip in the pathway. He blew the dust off of it and examined it more closely. It was shaped like a hand. He placed his hand on the slot. As soon as he did so, he regretted it. He felt an intense vacuum inside of his body. He felt as if he was being flipped inside out very slowly. He pulled himself away from the switch. He looked at it again, only more closely. He saw a small symbol on the impression in the dip. It was a magic circle. Could it be that the place where the handgraving was had tried to use his magic? However, because Kama didn't have any magic, it have tried to take away nothing from Kama. He wasn't really sure. Maybe Sevj knew something of this. "Sevj!" shouted Kama towards the dragon who was presumably following him. "Do you know what this magical engraving inside of this handprint means?"
Sejv was hovering behind Kama as they went along the dust and dismal passages. He was quiet content going along like this, their footsteps seemed to masked the other more sinister sounds around them that unnerved him far more. He was behind Kama when he mention getting his hands on the book. Sejv was more than just a little alarmed, he had big plans for that book. "When I get my hands on the book IÂ’ll take care of it for you" he said in the politest way he could manage. That book was his and this Kama had no right to its possession. However Kama seemed more occupied with something on the floor. Sejv could already feel the magical buzz in the air, something which was quite different to the normally feel of the place. He stepped forward to fill the hand print himself, as his hand filled the palm print he felt a strange tingling sensation in his fingers that spread into his central core. It felt like his strength was waning away like a popped balloon yet in a bizarre way he didnÂ’t want to let go. He looked up to see the gap in the path slowly revel itself. With a force of his will he pulled his hand free and stumbled backwards. "I do not want to do that again in a hurry" He said while painting heavily. "And either the people who live here hang wings or vast amounts of magic." he said in the mix of his chest rising up and down while he breathed in more.
