[OOC] Time Stamp- Mia (Winter) 13 81379 Large clunk like sounds had come from Joey's room as she worked on her "machine". Her dorm door was open and and revieled a rather messy room. Joey was inside....working on the "machine". It almost looked like some sort of....robot.
[ooc: I'm assuming you're in cat-mode. Sorry if I'm wrong] Aethel couldn't help but snicker as he crept along the hallway of the dormitories. He had no dorm of his own. Didn't want one. But he did so enjoy sneaking about, perhaps getting a meal or money out of some sucker who'd fall for his "broken paw" trick - even with telepathy and the flame at the end of his tail flickering with mischief, this still happened quite often. As he walked by a dorm room, he noticed the door open. The others all seemed so tightly shut, he hadn't really been able to get a good look at them to see how rich they were. His tail gave one bright flash as he decided to take a peak inside. Fighting off curiosity was never his best trait. He saw the room, saw the typical room furniture, then smiled as he saw the tiny creature tinkering away on something that slightly resembled a robot. He could see only her back as she worked hard, but he loved her coloring. He sat against the doorway, crossed his paws, and watched, trying not to think or give off anything that would alert the female to her company.
[OOC]Yeah...Joey is in cat form. What else does like to do mischef in? Loud noises came from inside the machine like they almost have been pulled out of an old cartoon. She reached in and seemed to be pulling out random things like paper cups, peices of gum, etc. "Now If I put the thingamabob here then put the gigglefarter here...." She shifts to Humanoid form so she can grip things easyer. She then had reached behind her, even though her tool table is far behind her, near the peeping tom. "Can you hand me the Fuhit-zmu-whatitz?" she says quickly as more random things come flying out her "Robot"
Aethel jumped as the Pendragon spoke. He didn't think he had made a noise or even thought anything, but had become so wrapped up in watching the cat he wasn't so sure. That and remembering his own failed shapeshifting attempted - the only challenge he was incapable of meeting. He always felt awe and jealously at other Pendragons who could shapeshift, but this new Pendragon was so unique that he found a small gap in his stomach where that last emotion should have been. He looked at the table beside him and grabbed a random object. He wasn't so great with tools... never was. "Is this it?" He asked, no longer having any discretion.
Joey smiled at him when she turns around. "No silly," she says as she grabs one that looks just like it but is slightly larger, "This is it!". She then went to the robot and began bashing the insides with it. large loud noises comming from it. Then she drops it and puts a half eaten apple upon a stand where a heart you be and shuts the chest of the robot. "There...now to start it up," she giggles with almost an evil look within her eyes.
Aethel frowned. He didn't like being proven ignorant of anything, even if he himself knew he didn't know, but especially not by a woman. It wasn't anything to do with their gender but rather their telepathy was stronger, so it was more like they were cheating than anything. He started to turn and leave, but the whirring sounds of the machine and the curiosity that had, so legends go, killed the cat made him stay. "What is that thing?" He asked, closing the door to make it look like that was intent to begin with.
Joey looked back him, then with an evil grin said "A Robot.....A Robot to rule the world." She said this with a giggle. "Then...I will have the robot go find me every sugarcube and I will eat them! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" She then went to back of the robot and stood there. "Stand back! I am going to turn the Robot on!" As soon as she said this (not giving the male anytime to stand back) she whapped the Robot over the head with an evil laugh. The fingers begun to move and then....THEN......then the hand fell off. "Its alive! Muwahahahaha! Alive I tell you!" The robot then fell tro peices and revieled the contents inside it. Old apple cores, Paper cups, string, dead rodets, etc, etc. She then began laughing. "Oh my god that was fun! Wouldnt you say?" she said looking at the male with a big smile. Her clouded eye glleaming. [OOC]Forgive me.... Joey is a nutcase.
[OOC: makes the tale more interesting] Aethel raised an eyebrow and looked from the trash-bot to the creator, who seemed more beautiful when she was insane - which was, Aethel suspected, a constant thing. He shifted positions then walked over to the robot. Bending down, he looked at the destroyed machine. "So... you're going to take over the world with apple cores?" As soon as it was out of his mouth, he felt like smiling. "Have you ever tried 'magic' perchance instead of the cafeteria's trash?"
Joey looked at him with a few confused blinks. "Magic.....why use magic when you can use your imagination?" Joey was always into imaginating things. As a child she would pretend to be a pirate and run around her town sticking her toy sword in peoples backs and running off with a giggle. She loved giggling. Joey walked around him with a happy little stare. She noticed he almost seemed to be staring at her like she was pretty every once inawhile. She holds back a huge laugh as she says this "Why do you keep looking at me like I am pretty?"
Aethel felt the blush rise to his cheeks and turned away. He began to mess around with the trash, pretending to try and reconstruct her 'robot'. "Where does this thing go?" He asked, holding up a fork. If she had any sense - he doubted she did - she would have realized he was diverting the subject. No amount of con artistry could hide embarrassment.
Joey looks at the fork and shirts back to her full cat form, sitting don on the couch in her room. "I think thats the Googlioplastin. It attaches to the arm on the inside of his body so he can stick it in toasters." She then made her tail grow long and felxably so she can grab things with it. She made her tail reach over to the side of the couch, go into a bag of sugarcubes and brought it back to her. She quickly ate the sugar cube and smiled. But just then....she relized he changed the subject. "hey!," she said as she threw her second sugarcube at him, "dont change the subject!" She laughed and grabbed another sugarcube which she set down beside her to eat in a few minutes.
Aethel shot her a glance and threw the fork down. He then stood up, crossed his arms, and pouted as he looked in her general direction. "Why does it really matter how I look at you?" He asked - needless to point out, to avoid answering. "Do you feel uncomfortable when young male pendragon looks at young female pendragon?" His tail's flame flickered as he spoke, magnifying his frustration and embarrassment. But his expression showed no such sign: only a slight annoyance or, perhaps, amusement.
Joey looked away from the male with a frown, staring at the sugarcube. her apetite gone. 'I'm sorry........."she stays silent for a moment. "Its just noone has looked at me like that in a long time." She felt at the moment...ugly. Like he didnt want to look at her or see her in a beutiful way. Only if she could see that one person again...the first person to look at her like that.
Aethel heard her tone and winced. It sounded hurt. He looked at the floor and kicked around a paper cup before sighing. "I didn't mean to get angry," He said, in a half-apology. "I haven't been around people for a long time; I kinda forgot my manners." He gave her a half-hearted smile, and waited for her response.
Joey sighed as she flicked away the sugarcube. "its okay....." She looked at him. The gleam in her clouded eye gone. Then she looked away and sighed again.
Aethel kicked the cup away, watching it crash against the dorm walls and fall down. For some reason, he felt like he made a big mistake. That's because you did, dolt, His mind scolded. He looked at Joey, saw the way her entire aura had changed, and scolded himself again. She was happier - crazier - before I decided to pop in. But what did he care? He didn't care about her... did he? "I, uh, can fix your robot." He said, trying to cheer her up. "We could make it fall apart again. That was fun."
Joey looked at him with a small smile. She blushed as she answered with a soft "Sure." then hopped off the couch and walked over to the garbage pile.
