Time: After the afternoon class (got what I mean?) Date: 20th Mia, 81378 (4) (OOC: In case you're curious as to the title, well... I got the idea from someone who said "Can't they let holidays be holidays?" A fair few o' ya will know how poor Salty feels in this topic... overloaded with homework and quite frustrated. Oh, and this takes place a few days after his 15th hatchday, so he's 15 (or 1500) years old now... which means that he's an apprentice. Which means MORE HOMEWORK, right? *smacks self* Enough rambling. Get onto the long intro post already!!! Oh, and for your convenience, the text on paper is made bold and italic. Salty's thoughts are in italics and speech is in "bold with quotation marks". For your reading convenience.) IC: Ah, what a lovely day it was... for the ones who were still too young to be in the rank of 'Apprentice'. Little niotis and niotees were playing around, some older ones were joining in or talking, or walking around. Some of them, like an unusual-looking pendragon who had only become an 'Apprentice' a few days ago, sat down and tried to do their homework. And it wasn't always easy, with the noise and playful youngsters. Saltamus shuffled the papers for his basic Ramathian homework. He kept all of his homework in a folder, which made it much easier to organise. Humans were very clever at making things neat and tidy, it seemed. The pendragon, who resembled an oriental dragon of Chinese legend, smiled at how it had probably saved him from getting into trouble, because it helped him actually hand in his homework. His smile then faded as he looked down at the one piece of paper that he hadn't written on yet. Spell 'darkness' in Ramathian. Greeaat... I hate Ramathian already. With a sigh he put the pencilcase aside, then reached into his backpack, which pretty much went with him everywhere. Out of it he pulled a Ramathian dictionary. Yes, he was cheating. But he wasn't always good at remembering what was what, and the fact that he had dyslexia didn't help much either. Darkness... 'd', 'd', 'd'... 'da', 'da'... that's it! With a somewhat triumphant grin, he plucked a pen from the pencilcase, put it (not the pen, the pencilcase!) in his backpack, and put it to paper. Darkness... p-u-j-c-m-a-- GAHHHHH! NOT AGAIN!!! He'd gotten his tail pulled by a young nioti, sending the pen flying and making a line down the paper. With a snarl he whirled around, teeth bared. "Can't you leave me alone?! I'm trying to get work done here!" Silence. Then the nioti grabbed his tail again. "But I wanna pway! I wuv your tail and you wook wike you could be a pwaymate!" Another silence. Then Salty grabbed him and leapt up, his teeth bared in an enraged snarl. Ah, the advantage of being serpentine... you could stand up. "Get. Lost. Now. Or. Else." The nioti began to wail and shake, but Salty kept a firm grip on him. "Pweeeeeeeeeeese! Wet me go!" "I'll do that IF you promise to tell everyone to leave me alone from now on!" Nervously he nodded, and Salty sighed. Then he lowered his raised 'arm' a little... before dropping the nioti. He was still crying as he ran off. With a frustrated sigh, Salty turned back to his homework. Oh great... not again... Several of the papers had been ruined. Silence... then... Salty let out an enraged yell, kicking a rock and grabbing the papers. He just ripped them apart. "I hate this! Can't they just let rest times be REST times?! Even the dormitories are a nightmare!!!"
((OOC: I know! I'll start out by reawakening someone else's topic XD)) Saujei was sitting on a bench nearby, her bad leg resting stiffly on a convieniently placed rock. (Not the most comfortable, but it worked well.) Her cane was propped against the side of the bench. She'd already finished her Astronomy homework, so now she was finishing up an easy assignment for Healing. Saujei was still at Basic level in that trade, since she had only begun it after her accident when she couldn't have Running as a primary trade anymore. Saltamus's outburst distracted her, and she looked up. "... You're only gonna have to do the work all over again if you ruin it," she commented, watching this unusual-looking pendragon she didn't know have his little tantrum.
If it hadn't been for his sharp ears, Salty probably wouldn't have heard Saujei's comment. His breathing was so heavy that you could hear it from the next two benches away (no kidding). Thoughts were racing through his head... thoughts which, unknowingly, he spoke out loud just as they were formed. "Third time this week... and just after my damn hatchday, too. Why can't the youngsters just leave me alone for one?" It was then that he heard the older pendragon's comment. Immediately he snapped up, looking for the source of the voice, and finding an aqua bluish pendragon with a leg on a rock. Immediately, he felt humiliation break out into him, and a slight growl came from his maw (luckily, he wasn't in a mood to attack; he had calmed down now). "Do it all over again? Not that it's going to matter... I hate Ramathian. Saltamus doesn't like this new pile of homework, thank you very much! Annoying kids are bad enough for me!" His voice was actually a little less angry than before, but it was clear that he wasn't one to be crossed this time. In fact he looked rather dangerous.
"Hey, don't be so offended," Saujei said. "I was just trying to be helpful." She yawned and returned her gaze to the Healing homework. "Besides, from the looks of it you scared all the annoying kids off."
