The usual black belly-cut mesh shirt was olive green today, and instead of baggy pants he wore a floorlength skirt, the black material adored with belts, straps, zippers, pockets and D-rings. Rows of armbelts adorned his arms, matching the set of three bondage collars he wore on his long neck. He was an indimidating figure, dressed in his aggressive clothing and hid hair up in it's usual spikey mohawk. Deminion perched on Zen's shoulder, taking advange of his high perch to do a little quick grooming. Today he sat on the ledge infront of the secretaries alcove, arms crossed and eyes hooded. He was expecting someone, a little kid apparently, who he was supposed to be watching out for for the next little while. Heh. He got to skip class to meet and greet little kiddies. Not that bad a deal. Of course, there was always the fact he'd be sharing his dorm with the niote, but that wasn't too troubling to the draconic male, as long as the little thing didn't play around with his stuff. Zen sighed, long and low, as he leaned his head back against the wall, listening to the office staff chatter on in the background.
Julia looked back at the World one last time before she pushed the door open. Her yellow eyes were wide with wonder and fearfullness. She turned around and looked at the large door. She then took hold of her suitcase, which was as large as her and about twice as heavy, tightered her grip on Fren (Her ragdoll) and pushed on the door. The little girl looked around slowly, dragging the big suitcase with some desperation. She let go of it and let it fall to its side as she looked up at the ceiling of the entrance hall. She then looked at the people around. There was some staff, some children, then....then the person over there. Tall and dark. She shivered at the sight of him and wanted to look away, but she could not. She stared at him, her eyes wide with nervousness.
Zen's eyes flickered under their lids, catching sight of the newest person to enter the room. She fit the discription he had been given earlier that morning. He smiled disarmingly, hopping down from his seat and siddling over to the child. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Hey there."</span> he said amiably, taking note of the hint of apprehension in the kids eyes. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Julia Trenos, right? The administration appointed me as you pseudo-guardian while you're here."</span> He crouched, offering one dark hand, the fingers ringed by glowing blue marking and ridged by stitched over wounds. The serpentine male was nearly seven feet tall when standing, and now he felt uncomfortably large next to the small girl. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Zengeis Avertégan, nice to meet you."</span>
As the male had begun walking toward her eyes had gotten wider, and unlit candles went aflame. As soon as he spoke to her and explained everything, she blinked and said ever so softly... "Hello, Zengels Avertegan." her Voice was small, sweet, and Innocent. She would like a little angel if it wasnt for the almost gothic-like undercase "t" on the side of her face. She took his hand, looking at it and shaking it lightly with her tiny little hand. He is big and it frigtened her. She was scared of him. But if he was at this school he must be good. Her daddy says so. After that she tightened her grip on Fren. She just stared at Zengels. She didnt know what to do now, she relied on him.
<span style='color:chartreuse'>"You can call me Zen if you want."</span> he nodded, smiling widely. <span style='color:chartreuse'>Cute kid.</span> He stood, jerking his thumb over his shoulder in the direction of the desk. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"I've just gotta let the office know you're here and in one piece, be right back."</span> He nodded, quickly trotting back to the front desk. After a quick and hushed conversation with the secretary on duty, and after signing a few forms, Zengeis jogged back over to his new charge. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"I'll grab that for you."</span> he said, tail slithering over and wrapping around Julia's bag, hefting it off the ground. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"You'll be staying in the same room as me, on the second dormatory floor down. We're in some of the nicer rooms. In the mean time, are you hungry or anything? The cafeteria should still be serving brunch right now."</span>he commented, motioning that she should follow him as he set off at a slow shuffle towards a nearby set of double doors.
She followed, watching him. He sure was big.....strong too. Just his tail could lift that bag....she was in awe and in fear. She shook her head when he asked her if she was hungry. She ate before she came here. Her mommy made her a big breakfest before she left for her first day at School. She held onto Fren in her hand like he was her life line, dangling as she held him by his limp arm.
Zengeis nodded, holding open the door for the female. The hallway it led to branched off here, leading to the classrooms, the cafeteria, and the stairwell to the dorms. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"It's a little confusing at first, this is a big school, but one you know where everything is it's a lot easier to navigate around the buildings."</span> he said, with a tiny yawn. He'd had to get up pretty damn early to get to the office in time - as soon as it opened- then waiting all morning for Julia to show up. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Elevator or stairs?"</span> he asked, absently eyeing the plushie the girl was clutching.
She looked up at him and blinked "Whats an Elevator?" She's never ridden one before. Her Father doesnt trust to many machina. She stared at him, like she was pleading an answer.
<span style='color:chartreuse'>"Huh..? Oh... Um, an elevator is like this big box you get inside of and it takes you to different floors, depending on what buttons you push."</span> Zen answered, poitning to a row of three doors near the top of the stairs. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"They're quicker than going up and down the stairs."</span>
She blinked at the machina and walked to it. The doors were large and cold. She pressed her ear aginst one of them and begun to listen. She was able to hear gears moving about inside. It made her nervous....but..she was intrigued. "I wanna ride it" she said softly, looking at him.
<span style='color:chartreuse'>"Sure. Besides, you're bag is kinda heavy."</span> he grinned, jabbing the elevators 'down' button, and watching as the door slid open smoothly. The inside walls of the elevator car were plain compaired to some, but it was clean and brightly lit, just big enough for a half dozen 'dragons to jam themselves in. Zen ushered Julia into the car, pointing out the '2' on the button panel set into the wall. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"That's the floor we're on. The lower the number, the deeper you are underground."</span> he explained. Zengeis hit the button, and the doors closed. The car hummed to life, vibrating slightly as it began its slow descent.
As the elevator began to move she gripped Fren with both of her arms, holding him close. But soon, she grew used to the movement and looked about the car with excitment. She watched the screen as the numbers upon it changed and it bleeped everytime. When the elevator stopped she immediatley pushed a random button to make it move again. "Again!" she said with much excitment. The door closed and the elevator zoomed to life again, bleeping when the number on the screen changed.
Zengeis laughed quietly as the car began to descend further, the numbers steading counting off until they reached the seventh floor. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Fun, huh?"</span> he laughed, pushing their floor number once the elevator had slowed to a stop. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Just make sure you watch what buttons you push, a couple of them can stop the car between floors and we'd get stuck here until someone came along to pull us out."</span> he warned, stepping back to the far wall as the elevator started to rise.
Julia hid her mouth as she giggled at this. She watched the numbers go back down to their number and walked off, looking around the hallway.
Zen followed close on her heels, turning right and heading off down the halls. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Room 1200."</span> he told Julia, counting off the rooms numbers as he passed them. When they finally reached the correct door, Zen pulled out his key and jammed it into the lock. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"The office is getting you your own key, it should be ready tomorrow, or the day after.</span> Zen mused, pushing open the door and stepping inside of his- no, their room. He tossed Julia's bag onto the bed closest to the far wall. That left another unoccupied bed between the two of them, for personal space. The room had been cleaned and aired out prior to the girls arrival, but Zen was slightly embarassed to find that it still smelled faintly like cigarette smoke. Now he'd have to find another place to light up; most likely the washrooms or behind the school buildings. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Sorry it stinks, the person before me was a smoker."</span> he lied, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
Julia looked at him and then walked over to her stuff. She turned the suitcase over and opened it. She then opened a drawer and began puting clothes within it. She was soon finished with organizing her stuff and looked at him, hoping up onto her bed which now had a big blue comforter on it and a big pink pillow. "Is anyone else staying in our room?" She said, looking at the extra bed.
<span style='color:chartreuse'>"Nope, it's just you and me. Most rooms have four beds in then no matter how few 'dragons are staying in them; some of them -like ours- only have room for three beds because we have a little bathroom.</span> he yawned, flopping down onto his stomach on his own bed. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"So where're you from?"</span> he asked, resting his chin on his hands, his long tongue flicking out to taste the air. By his reasonings, if she hadn't seen an elevator before, she was probably from someplace fairly remote.
Julia looked at him as she sat upon her bed. "My family is from Dhruv. We are Yki. But my parents moved here before I was born and they moved around Swaraj selling goods. Now I am here to learn." she says softly once again. She is begining to like Zengels. He showed her the Elevator, which she thinks she will like for a long time. She stared at him. He dresses funny and looks odd too. He smells like the room too. She doesnt care much though. "Zengels..why do you smell just like the room?" she asked him with a little of a mocking tone.
<span style='color:chartreuse'>"Yki? That explains the whole elevator thing, I heard they weren;t exactally the most machina-influenced people going..."</span> Zen smiled at the mention of her family. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"I used to live with my family in Ajita; in the underwater city, then they decided to send me here. I was pretty lucky; they decided to move to Watani so they were close to me."</span> Zengeis rolled over onto his back, head hanging off the end of the bed. He let out an exasperated sigh, letting his long tongue hang out the side of his mouth. <span style='color:chartreuse'>"Well... I've got a very bad habit, y'see. I smoke."</span> he left out the fact that his cigarettes were laced with various narcotics, a habit he was trying to quit, but didn't think would be a good thing to mention to his new roomie.
Julia blinked at his words. "Smoke?" she asked him. <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>oh boy a short post! My Favorite! Anyways...ha...Julia: Short, Cute, and Innocent. Innocence=Stupid. </td></tr></table>
