A foul smell seemed to rise up from the very bowels of this place. Her company was mostly ragged, shady pendragons that the lithe female would dare not cross unless it was absolutly demanded of her. She slunk through the crowds, knowing exactly where she needed to go. She'd been here before though she hated to admit it. The place disgusted her, as did nearly everyone in it. Alas, she relied on it's services a great deal. There he was. The one vender she was seaking out. They all changed spots often to avoid as much suspicion as possible, though any pendragon with half a brain knew that this place was not entirely up to the government's codes. <span style='color:#0c45ba'>"Did you get them?"</span> The female choose to use telepathy so as not to alert anyone else to her business. She made brief eye contact with the male that her thoughts had been sent out to. He was large and the female guessed he could take down nearly anyone that crossed him. He didn't speak, nor did he even return a thought, a short, curt nod was all she recieved as an answer. The male dissappeared for an awkwardly long time behind a thick, velvety curtain that hung behind his small table, in order to conceal the inner workings of his "business". The female stood uncomfortably. Her white fur was turning a dull, dank cream color from all the dust and dirt being tracked around the area. Her bright orange tail flicked nervously, and she got several unwelcomed looks from pendragons passing her. Thankfully, the vender returned and her prize was in his paws. A cage containing two Trisks. He passed off the parcel to her and she took it only to gladly. It would be easy to pass these off as pets if someone got a little nosey. Of course, she had her own reasons for getting the birds. She nodded polietly to the male and he returned it, he knew his payment would come later. Her precious cargo now aquired, she slunk through the crowds, hoping to avoid any untimely meetings with some of the rougher pendragons that hung out here...
Dyvx and Mint strode through the black market barganing and selling several of their own illegal items. They didn't know that both were there at the same time though they knew that later that night they were to meet eachother and talk about buisness. Mint wasn't really buying, stealing was a better word. She passed several 'dragons with a noticable amount of money in their pockets and swiped the cash before heading off into an alley where two things were...the femme 'dragon who had bought two strange little creatures and Dyvx who was waiting until the cover of darkness to find Mint. When the two stood togather Mint mumbled quietly <font color="aqua"> You're early </font> <font color="black"> What difference does it make? </font> Mint smiled stuffing some wallets into her bag before looking around the crowded area. It was then that the two 'dragons both noticed the femme walking away with the two creatures. Dyvx and Mint didn't even have to look at each other. Soon they were pushing through the crowd until they reached the femme. Mint smirked and Dyvx said in his most menacing voice <font color="black"> What ya got there? </font> <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>hi...uh Dyvx's speech is in black just so you know...</td></tr></table>
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>Hello hello. Thanks for replying! Should be a fun thread...not so much for Apline, but for us... :)</td></tr></table> Damnit! The female flinched in mid step as two pendragons stepped in her way. One male. One female. The female, while about their size in height, knew in a second that, if they pleased, they could break her like a twig. Each was menacing in their own way, but the male, he was truly ferocious looking. Most of his body was metal. Damnit, damnit, damnit! She didn't know what to do. Instinctivly, she glanced around for a hole, some way she could get away from these dragons. Alas, in the crowds though, nothing appeared. She was stuck. The worst of it was, brawls were not uncommon in the black market. Passerbyes would think nothing of it and be in no mood or position to give any asistance. She was at the mercy of the two before her. She could only pray that they were simply having a little fun with a dragon they'd never seen at the market before. She had always tried to keep a low profile when visiting this dreadful place and these two looked like regulars. The male's gruff voice broke a threatening silence. He wanted to know what she had. The female finally relaxed muscles that had been tensed since the dragons first appeared in front of her. She was in no way at peace though. At least though, she would be able to pass off the two Trisks as pets. Plenty of pendragons kept these birds as companions and they looked no different than any others, and why should they? <span style='color:orange'>"Just...uh...picking up some pets. I thought it...uh...might be fun to get a couple."</span> She spoke nervously. Not because of the lie, because of the company. She shrunk down, barely looking at the two if she could avoid it. She had to stay on their good side. Thoughts rolled through her head like a frieght train. Why did she always assume the worst in dragons here? Well, if the shoe fits. Now was not the time to be worrying about that though. Now was the time to be figuring out what these two dragons wanted of her.
Dyvx smirked he didn't realize that the femme was that frightened of himself and Mint, so he took the femme nervous words as a lie. Mint knew this as well but was more thoughtful that Dyvx and said nothing of it. <font color="maroon"> Now, I'm going to ask you one more time and act like you never said anything, Whatcha got there? </font> Mint looked over at the poor femme. She probably was very frightened of Dyvx but the metal male liked to frighten people. Mint wanted to let the femme know that they wouldn't it hurt her, physically. <font color="aqua"> Just don't lie ok kid? He doesn't like liers. </font> Mint looked over at the 'dragon with a don't-worry-about-anything kind of look before swiping a small camera bag from a passerby.
They caught her. She obviously was worse at lieing than she thought. The males words cut through the air and only served to frighten the female even more. She closed her eyes for a brief second, taking a deep breath and trying to collect herself. She was still petrified but she had to push through it. For all she knew, the two 'dragons didn't even want to hurt her. Yeah. Think about it that way. They don't want to hurt you. If anything, they probably just want the Trisks. Hell, if that's all it is, they can have them. I can get more... She nodded to herself and decided she may as well tell the two 'dragons the truth, though she would avoid any definitive terms. Vauge was her middle name. Tell them just enough to keep them satisfied but not let them in on the details. <span style='color:orange'>"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. They're for research...but I was going to make them pets when the study was over...so I wasn't really lieing."</span> She was slightly more firm in her speech now, figuring that she may as well make the best of the situation and get through all this as quickly as possible. She stood back to her normal height, and her ears perked back up to their normal position. Inside she was still very frightened but she was trying not to show it on the outside.
The soft pelted pup looked a fallen angel in the dusty streets of the black market...Innocent...tragically...or so it seemed... To the world, this dark one, she looked like a beacon of feigned hope, swallowed by the blackest of nights. But not this pup...for she was the maker of this tragic world... The innocent pup glanced around with nervous movement but a confident eye...The only thing the betrayed her innocent beauty was the starkness of her pupiless, colourless eyes...windows to the soul, so they said, but these eyes...white and blank, held no soul, and nothing beautiful. Simple white, everything about her, from the tips of her thick, feathered wings to her soft, padded feet, it seemed as if she held no colour, could hold no colour, which made her all the more eerie, and no matter how seductive in her petit sorrow, all the more treacherous... She used this to her advantage...Just a baby, her frame not even grown into herself yet. Large paws, awkward, big ears....pitable creature, in her youth. But as she walked, even the hardest hearts of the crowd passed her a sympathetic frown...but the most sensitive of pendragons would move out of this pup's way... ...She soon found herself amongst a slight dispute, though, and thought to stop a moment...She could smell the weakness of the center femme, who held tasty little birds in a black cage for her...yes yes...for her....the male was quite large and the pup gave him a coniving glare before o'erlooking the second femme, who seemed apologetic for seemingly no reason. ...And so, being such a hungry little vampire, the pup approached them.
Dyvx looked over at Mint before saying quickly to center femme, he decided to go ahead and trust the femme for now and his voice became softer and he looked like the funloving guy he really was. <font color="maroon"> We could help out with the 'research' that you're doin' though I think that it is more than that...</font> Dyvx coughed lightly trying to hide the fact that he was getting a little less tough on the femme. He looked around and saw the hungry pup looking at the Trisks hungrily. <font color="maroon"> You better watch those trisks, that little 'dragon over there is hungry. </font>
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>Sorry for the wait!</td></tr></table> Apline was confused. How can this male think that he can help me with my research if he doesn't even know what I'm studying? Typical male ego no doubt. Thinking they can do everything just because a woman can do it. Geeze. She chuckled quietly and shook her head. <span style='color:orange'>"This is pretty specialized research. I don't know how much you could really help."</span> The male's next words were a warning that she was thankful for. Her eyes quickly shot to the pup and almost as quickly back to the two in front of her. The female hadn't said anything in a while. It seemed the male was doing the talking for the pair and for a brief moment, Apline wondered if they were an actual pair. She quickly dissmissed the thought though. Taking another quick glance at the tiny pup with an eerie blankness about her, she pulled the Trisks slightly closer to her. <span style='color:orange'>"Don't worry, these two aren't going anywhere, and they certainly aren't going to end up lunch to some pup."</span> There was a pause, and her train of thought quickly shifted back to the male's offer to help with her research. <span style='color:orange'>"Besides, I don't know you. Why would I think you're qualified to help with my research when I don't even know what your names are?"</span>
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>no problemo</td></tr></table> Dyvx raised an eyebrow at Mint who looked up at the center 'dragons first words. She smerked raising an eyebrow as well. They both nodded to eachother and Mint said <font color="aqua"> I'm Mint...this is Dyvx my aquaintence, we work together. </font> Dyvx looked at the 'dragon again, behind his back he was flexing his metal paws. Then he said <font color="maroon"> And what of your name? Why should we be the only ones to tell our secret identities? </font> Dyvx chuckled silently, not really a secret identity was a name but merely a word that recognzes ceratin people. But still both Mint and Dyvx wanted to know the center 'dragon's name. Dyvx though over what the femme had said. She was right. He probably wouldn't be any help anyway...
The two 'dragons seemed to be a little more friendly now. Still, they were no where near hospitable, but at least Apline was feeling terribly threatened anymore. Question answered. As if Mint could read her mind, she introduced herself and Dyvx as co-workers. As Dyvx said, it was only fair now that she knew their names, to reveal her own, not that it was really a secret. <span style='color:orange'>"My name is Apline."</span> Now though, Apline was curious as to exactly what sort of work the two did. It's easy to assume what their professions were based on their surroundings alone, and then again, Apline was in the very same surroundings and probably hadn't a thing in common, as far as proffessions go, with the two in front of her. <span style='color:orange'>"And what exactly, if I may pry, do you two do?"</span>
The pup smiled at presumptions...silly loves...it wasn't the birds she wanted.... However, she looked woefully to the ground, eyeing the path up to the strangers...she paused at their feet, not daring to look any higher to their eyes. Her cold, yet sorrowful gaze looked pitifully at their movements, though one could not be certain what she was loking at precisely...the whites of her delicate, colourless eyes told no secrets... ...Inching her way closer to the small crowd, she lowered her thick tail in a submissive gesture and laid her ears back, dropping her heavy, big wings so they dragged limp and lifelessly on the dusty street. Approaching, in a beautiful, haunting, and eerie childlike voice, she whispered, "<span style='color:red'>Gyyj gog...gyyj pyll't lyts...ty tkujap...lybat...halg ot, iat? Tokh u sajjerla, sajjerla gluka, lybat...ump gyyj pyll't lyts haj non....</span> The pup spoke with a accent so heavy it seemed she knew not a word of English, and even the Ramathian was hard to decipher...
Dyvx and Mint both nodded at the mention of Apline's name before Dyvx ansered Apline's second question, he talked easily without any hesitation. <font color="maroon"> Aye, we don't really work on a certain profession...believe us or not, we merely, go with the flow. The only thing that is really a definite 'line' in our professions is mainly that they are always criminal activities. </font> Mint nodded looking down at the pup as it came closer, looking pitiful. Mint smirked had seen this sort of thing once before and she had fallen for it but she wouldn't this time. She merely looked at Apline and Dyvx raising her eyebrow in a gesture of a question.
The pup cocked her head to the side, and perked up her soft ears...the conversation was mediocure, she thought....dull...boring...blah blah blah.....even for so deathly hateful a creature as she, she certainly retained her puplike attention span from her time as a mere....mortal. Adults could be so...boring. Being quite new to the effects of vampirism, and so utterly starved, she wondered furiously why these grown-ups wouldn't just kneel down and let her bite them...I mean, how simple was that, really? The anger and confusion in the pup's innocently impure mind caused her eyes to flare firey red for a moment, sending seering pain in the heads of several black marketers around her, poor unfortunate souls...they cried out, grabbing their heads in agony and the pupglared angerily at the dusty ground, kicking a pebble with her sweet, fluffy forepaw in a childlike "phooey" manner. With a look of "Not Fair!" on her face, it was a rather unusual sight to see so powerful a creature with so sweet an angery face.
Another green 'dragon, very, very similar to Mint raced over to the small trio. She nearly troded on the pup but paid no heed and embraced Mint with such force they both nearly fell to the ground in a tumble. Mint growled loudly and Dyvx pulled the other femme off of Mint as she recovered herself. <font color="maroon"> Why you little...</font> Dyvx broke of at the first decent glance of the other femme. she looked exactly the same as Mint except with a light green clover emprinted on her forehead. Something stirred in the male's memory as Mint cried out happily <font color="aqua"> Clover!!!! Oh god!!! CLOVER!! </font> The twoembrace and suddenly Dyvx suddenly remembered that Clover was Mint's twin.
