[OOC When: Mia 35, 81380, morning Who: Quenetym [bipedal] Wearing: Black slacks, no boots. Thick white, woolen turtleneck which comes up to just under his jaw. Black synthetic fibre trenchcoat. OOC] Quenetym trudged down the hallways of the northern campus of the Janardan facility. He paid the students and teachers no mind as his long strides ate up the space between himself and where ever it was he was heading towards. His target was the courtyard, but he wanted to stop at the cafeteria on his way there and pick up a coffee as he had been up late last night and it was still far too early. He was amazed the students in the hallway looked so awake. Classes wouldn't be starting for an hour still, but yet they bustled about. His thick padded feet cushioned his steps and protected him from any sharp objects on the ground aswell as the cold. He never liked boots, so he never wore them content with the feeling of his feet directly upon the floors. His sinous tail swayed back and forth in time with each of his steps, though he kept it's swinging to a minimum to prevent it from taking any students or faculty, such a thing would almost certainly result in sending anyone smaller than himself into the walls from the blast of electricity from his appendage. Not that he had to worry to much about it anyway, everyone gave him a wide birth. It didn't take him long to reach the caffeteria, and luckily there wasn't much of a line for him to stand in while waiting for his coffee. "Large, one sugar, black." He grumbled his order to the thill behind the counter, who promptly handed him the hot drink, which he began drinking immediately, his free hand fumbling in his pocket to pull some change out to pay for the drink. He waved away the change owed him and continued his trek to the courtyard. The courtyard was completly empty. Not a single 'dragon occupied any of the seats, this fact causing Quen to mumble to himself for being so early. He took a seat at a nearby table and drank his drink, occassionaly glancing about for whom he was supposed to be meeting. "Why would she want me meet me here.. I could easily have told her I found nothing at Ajita, and I would of gotten more sleep aswell..." He shooks his head as he spoke, there was no use in saying anything different when Koani asked for a meeting.
Who; Joo-eun Fai and Kage Jr. Zareh Clothing; Joo-eun's in her p.j pants and a tank top, her hair's in a messy pony-tail. Kage is in the clothing in his description. IC 'His brother's not supposed to be here.' Joo-eun thought miserably running away from a familiar figure. "Hey Fai! Come back, dammit." Kage yelled out at his twin's ex-girlfriend. 'If she's here...then my brother's probably here too.' Joo-eun, like every other day, woke up and decided to go for a nice walk before classes, then, thats' when she bumped into...him, not him...but him. To be more clear, she ran into her ex-boyfriend's twin, also a former "friend" 'For lack of a better word,' she added mentally. If he knew she was here, word would travel fast to his brother, well that's what she thought. Little did she know, her ex-boyfriend and his twin never talked after the group split up. "JOO-EUN! Come on, frig.." Kage tried following the younger girl; he hated the glances people were throwing at him, he didn't want the attention, but if only Joo-eun would stop running for a few seconds...
http://shadowlack.com/persona.php?id=542Koani Grader</a> & Vythe Vidallyn (Being his usual NPC self. White pelted, kind of stocky, not very fun guy.) *** Koani highly enjoyed it when things worked out and went smoothly. That's not to say that she didn't enjoy the occasional disruption either. A little bit of chaos was what made life interesting. This chaos that lay in the wake of Zamfir's death was most certainly making at least her life very interesting. If it hadn't been for the press, who were constantly grating her nerves, she would have been quite content. This morning though they'd managed to thwart them and so Koani was in a rather bright mood despite events. She had met up with Hart Demori, the principal of Janardan, quite early that morning. The two of them had re-hashed events and concerns over several warm cups of coffee. With the passing of Zamfir, who had been the main benefactor of Janardan's funding, Koani wanted to ensure the principal that nothing was going to change in regards to the school's financial situation. Koani had proposed that she would continue funding the academy herself, provided that her aid was wanted. It was wanted, as Koani knew it would be. And so Zamfir's papers had been destroyed, only to be replaced by Koani's own and stamped with the Grader seal. Koani had rather enjoyed Hart's company. There was something about the other kiom that Koani found likeable, although she couldn't quite place it. So she had stayed and chatted idly until Vythe, the Grader's Head of Security, had come and placed two fingers on her shoulder. Telling her that it was time to go. Koani had given him a scathing look and had soundlessly mouthed the word “Don't." There had always been some tension between Koani and Vythe. Zamfir's death seemed to have made it worse. Koani's suspicion of him was only compounding things. Koani hadn't protested though. She had overstayed a little too long with Demori, this she knew. The kiom had politely excused herself and had donned her rather plain looking gray coat, all the while being mindful of her spikes and making sure that they were laying flat. The coat in itself was rather long and had wide sleeves. It expertly concealed the lengths of her skirt. She carefully did up the clasps that fastened the coat with one hand. Hart had then escorted them to the door, and once outside and alone, Koani had turned to Vythe. “I wish you wouldn't do that. You could have simply cleared your throat. I don't want you touching me. Unless it's absolutely necessary, or unless I initiate it." Koani said as she walked alongside Vythe, watching him out of the corner of her pink tinctured eyes. Vythe nodded briefly. He had understood her at least, but whether he actually would stay true to her request was something that Koani highly doubted. The two of them really needed to talk about things. There hadn't been time though. And Koani, for several reasons, really did not want to hear what she knew Vythe had to say. Meeting up with Quenetym was also something that she knew Vythe didn't quite approve of. However, Vythe, no matter how hard he tried, would not be allowed by Koani to dictate what she could and could not do. Their meeting place at the school had been chosen simply because it had convenient. Koani's hands found her pockets as she stepped out into Janardan's courtyard. It was devoid of all living beings, save for Quen of course. Then again, who in their right mind would be outside at this time in the morning? Specially when the Janardan building was so nearby and warm. Koani raised a hand in greeting to Quen as she walked over to him, Vythe silently in tow.
Character: Sejv Clothes: Light blue leather trench coat, dark green pants and black shirt. Sejv walked down the hallway of Janardan with the only sound being the click of his heavy boots on the polished floor and the faint chatting of thills. He was on his way to the courtyard with some items he need to look over in peace and since the yard was normally empty at this time of day it seemed like a good idea. He brushed his golden hair out of his eyes as he walked into a slightly more populated part of the academy, taken the long way around was normally quieter. However this time a group of thills seemed to be running around doing anything but work and study, they seemed to be shouting to each other about slowing down or whatever. He wasnÂ’t in the mood for all this hectic activity so early in the morning, he just wanted to switch off some where and let his mind turn to mush. He would be more than just glad when the bell finally went for lessons, but until then he just continued on his way to the courtyard. After a few more minutes he arrived in the cafe and gazed at the small shuffle of students lining up for the dismal excuse for food. He personally preferred his own cooking and could never stomach the manufactured stuff anyway. Ignoring it all though he walked through the door to the courtyard and his eyes widened in shock, not only was infamous Koani Grader there but she was also with too hired goon types who seemed rather disturbing. One however he recognised as Vythe, who seemed to some sort of bodyguard type for Miss Koani. For a tiny second he considered hiding away and going somewhere else but the curious nature inside him took over his consciousness, he was compelled to stay. He slowly took a seat on a bench not to near and got comfortable on the slightly frosty surface. Taking out his new item the "Jagausaj Avvaks" tome which seemed to hold a fair few secrets which he was supposed to study and probe, but his mind and gaze where still more focused on the grader group which seemed to be up to something far more interesting. He wasnÂ’t to fond of government types, especially big lug muscles heads like the black trench coat one.
Quenetym was quietly enjoying his coffee in the chilly Mia air when he noticed Koani enter the courtyard, with a rather grim faced Vythe. From Vythe's expression he could tell the arden was upset at having been talked in to letting Koani come to meet up with Quen. This thought made Quenetym smirk slightly as he stood up, setting his coffee down atop the table at which he sat. He gave a short formal bow to Koani, his smirk turning to a smile as the Grader approached. "Good morning, Madame Grader. Morning Vythe." The first name he spoke with a great deal of respect, the second he made sound like addressing a schoolboy in a lower grade. "It's rather nippy out this morning, I hope you're dressed well." He was, though most had stared at his feet wondering how he could withstand the cold without shoes or even socks. He jestured to a pair of chair at his table and seated himself, not waiting for the others. His tail shifted behind him as he got himself comfortable again, taking a short sip from his cup. The drink had begun to turn cold, though that didn't bother him too much as he purchased it for the caffiene boost not the warmth. "So, I've found four more anti-Grader support from within the military and other important organizations..." He was blunt, he had something to report and so he did. "They didn't take long to admit it." He then added, "no one ever does." He sounded almost dissapointed, like he was waiting for a challenge. "At anyrate, the recent escellation in their numbers inside of important government groups is rather alarming. It's not like they're simply anti-Grader. They're actively so." He gave a sigh after he finished speaking. "This isn't good, especially with the recent news of your grandfather's... Passing." He stopped a moment, and glanced about the courtyard. He was careful about speaking about matters which had only recently went to press, as 'dragons were prone to gossip when hearing people speak about new news. As he was gazing about, he noticed a young arden enter the courtyard and seat himself off to one side, not without having stolen a glance at Quen and Koani. "Seems we may have company.." He said quietly, giving a light nod in the direction of Sejv.
[I dunno what to do with the chars X.x but yah...I'll try] Joo-eun growled, she was finally out of breath, swearing under her breath, she took a seat on the bench near the other people. "Holy shit woman, what is wrong with you." Kage hissed at her, catching up. "Leave me-" "Alone?" He grumbled, rolling his eyes. "Well yah." "Jeez woman, all I wanna know is; Where is my brother." Kage mumbled. "Oh..well, if that's all ya' wanted...to be honest I 'unno, he was around here." She mumbled under her breathe, clearly embarassed about the way she was acting earlier. Kage rolled his eyes, a faint smile making it's way on his face, "Yer' stupid Joo' ya know that? Dun' worry, if I do see him, I a'int tellin' him I saw you, 'iight?" "Yah yah, whatever." Joo-eun waved her arms, excusing Kage; who didn't seem as if he were going to move. She kept her gaze on the 'dragon near by; which would be considered rude, she was staring openly and Kage seemed to notice that since he growled smacking her head. "I'm gonna' ignore that..." She mumbled, not lifting her gaze from Koani; 'Pretty hair.' she thought, playing with her own hair in the process.
Vythe rose an eyebrow but otherwise did not react to the way in which he had been addressed. To do so would be quite beneath him. Now, had Quen's tone of voice been used on Koani as well, then there might have been some problems. Koani paid no mind to Quen's not so subtle change in tones. Vythe had, after all, been getting on her bad side for quite some time now. So whatever happened to make him uncomfortable at the moment was perfectly fine by her. “Cold? Most certainly," Koani agreed as she moved to sit down on one of the offered seats at Quen's table. She swept her long tail to the side and settled herself. Vythe, a little grudgingly, chose to stand a little off to the side. “Although, the weather here is nothing compared to those frigid high winds that were scouring Ajita early this morning," she reflected. Koani smoothed out her coat as she listened to Quen's report. It wasn't good. Of course “good news" was of the rather rare variety these days. “It's not like this wasn't expected though. People were first disheartened when the Magosai died. Suspicious of me as well... Then we had quite the fall-out when ah, Stormwing was removed from the military ranks. And of course, losing the Magos not too soon after would have been a devastating blow to anyone. Actively and within our ranks though... that's the part that bothers me." Koani entwined her fingers in her hair as she thought. She had heard about some random raids. The acts of violence. The protests. Public relations were failing and she knew it wasn't simply confined to those within the government. It didn't take a genius to figure that one out. All they really needed to do was pull a few tricks. Entertain the the public just like a magician would and wield the formidable power of distraction. Koani glanced over her shoulder at Quen's mention of company. No sooner had he finished that remark though, then they happened to be joined by a few more of what Koani could only assume to be students. “Like slikip to a tail-flame," she murmured to herself. “You know, just as long as they don't have cameras, I think it's fine. I haven't anything privy to say at this moment... and most of this discussion is really commonplace." Pendragons always seemed to have big ears, big eyes, and even bigger mouths when it came to politics. Speaking of big eyes, Koani could feel that she was being gawked at. She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed inwardly.
Sejv tried to focus more on the book which seemed to be far more interesting at the moment however not quite as puzzling. It was lost on him why the Arch Magosai would hold a meeting on internal affairs in a public place let alone a school. Still he could understand their worries on the subject, Sejv himself was somewhat of a part time trouble maker yet he hadnÂ’t done anything totally anti grader... yet. The guild he worked for often sent him off on stupid things that involved breaking the law but they didnÂ’t want that kind of attention, still he had seen others who were almost openly against the current dictators. He sighed heavily and stared at the book intently, trying to make up his own mind on the current ruler. He had heard more than anyoneÂ’s fair share of stories about her but he had a feeling some were true, but the idea of her speaking rapine just sounded stupid. He knew she had fought them but he didnÂ’t think she could speak to them, however he had yet to see her doing anything much since she had only been in power for a short while. Still he wasnÂ’t much of a fan of the previous Graders, they had seemed very thuggish to him with lots of underhand tactics. When the mass of children ran into the courtyard Sejv had a slight idea, if he ever managed to get one alone with out the government lackeys noticing he would probably pay the thill to do something stupid near them like smack into them or something. He could imagine if Koani or a lackey pushed the child back, the media would have a field day. Still he wasnÂ’t going to put to much effort into anything drastic, he was working after all and the book wasnÂ’t to bad. Taking out a note pad and pen he began taking notes about the book and what was obvious and what wasnÂ’t and what he thought.
Quen mumbled lightly to himself as a few more students entered the courtyard. He had been told that the area was almost always disserted at this time in the morning, especially lately with the setting in of the Mia cold. He gave a mental shrug at the almost false information. "I won't punish anyone for this, things happen even I can't predict..." He thought sourly to himself. Just as he was about to speak again, his phone began ringing. He had it tucked in the inside lapel pocket of his jacket, and quickly fished it out, holding up the index finger of his left hand to signal he'd be but a moment before flipping open the cell and answering the call. "Hello, Quenetym here." He blinked at whatever the response might of been, and began nodding, mumblings 'Uhhuhs' into the mouthpiece, his free hand rapping against the table. "Oh really? Excellent timing, that could be useful." He said in a tone soft enough for only the two at his table to hear. He quickly began smiling, a smile which grew wider and wider as the call continued until he hung up. He continued to smile as he spoke to Koani. "Seems we have our magician." He grinned, his sharp wellkept teeth showing past his lips in an almost hungry way. "Seems some of my men in orbit have found a Rapine scout vessel just outside of military airspace. The Ramathian military should know about them in oh... Fifteen minutes." He chuckled. He was always pleased when his department knew something so important well before anyone else did. Why wouldn't he know? It was his job to know everything that happened, even if his supperiors didn't know he knew of it. "If you'd like, I have either have my men incapacitate the ship, or let them alert the USR and have their ships destroy the scout." He let that thought sit on the table for a moment before suggesting: "I could have my men capture the ship, and the rapines... Alive." He grinned from ear to ear at that one, knowing it should get a bit of a reaction out of even Vythe. "We could leave a hint about it here with these onlookers, no better publicity stunt."
Kage shifted uncomfortably; gazing at the 'dragon sitting, and the three 'dragons on the other side; he thought he heard something about rapines after the 'dragon was mumbling in his cell, but then again he might be wrong; well he hoped he was wrong. Joo-eun obviously had no clue who she was...well, gawking at; and she obviously had no clue that maybe they were unwanted people; they were students who SHOULD be in class. "Joo' shouldn'cha be in classes?" "Shouldn't you be gone?" "Well...yah..good point." "Well; I dun' wanna be in class." She stated standing up; "AND, I dun' wanna be near you." "Charming.." She walked over to Sejv and sat down; "Wacha' reading?" Kage groaned; 'Something's definately wrong with her; Why does Kael even bother...' Which made him realize...maybe his brother was retarded too, like Joo-eun. 'Cause ya' know...they're both retarded retards.' Which may sound...well stupid to someone else; But it made perfect sense to him; and answered quite a few questions about them... Joo-eun seemed to have read his thoughts or something; since she turned his way and glared sticking out her tongue. Kage flinched; 'What did I get myself into..' This taught him a valuable lesson; Never get to know Joo-eun Fai, it was too much of a hassle, and a bad thing for you in the long run; But that was too late now. He thought grimacing.
Had Koani been drinking at that moment, she would have spat it out. Quen's words were so unexpected. Instead she quietly stared at him for a moment. Her expression unreadable. She had heard him correctly. Rapine just outside Ramathian airspace. It wasn't exactly unheard of. Vythe in the meanwhile had started. At first his attention had been fixed on Quenetym. Wondering if the interrogator's words were truthful. Not because he expected Quen to lie, but because rapine vessels were such a rarity. He could have been mistaken. There had been all sorts of false alerts in the past. Meddlesome pranksters just looking to arouse the wrong sort of attention. And Quen's mention of capturing a rapine alive? It seemed rather outrageous and ludicrous to him. Vythe's attention then settled back on Koani, wondering how she was taking this news. He knew for a fact that ever since her return to Ramath-lehi, Zamfir had purposely kept her away from all dealings with the rapine. Koani had never told Vythe what had exactly happened on Candrice IV, nor what had happened to her during the seven long years thereafter. The rapine were involved though. That much he knew to be true. At that moment he was half expecting Koani to burst into tears (not that she was a really teary type), or perhaps even scream. She didn't appear to be giving off any distress signals though. In fact, she seemed rather... keen about the prospect. This mildly disturbed Vythe. “Your men found her first, so it's their claim. There's really no need to take it from them," Koani said as she absently ran her blue tongue over her teeth and then held onto her left wrist with her right hand. “You'll have the military as backup. We'll get them to run sweeps as well. Solo fliers... sure, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was a second scout lurking. Incapacitate her if you can, destroy her if you can't. I don't want anyone going to foolish lengths. Specially since once caught, all the data on their ship will be useless to us." “Grader'ba?" interrupted Vythe. “Just confirming. It is a rapine signal. Military just picked it up on their new long range sensors." He said while faintly tapping the tele-link system in his ear. “I'd love to have one of their star charts and systems someday, just like how they'd love to have one of ours," Koani continued as if she hadn't heard Vythe. “I could figure so much out. Anyway, I don't recommend a live capture. They'd sooner slit their own throats. The thought of one setting foot here... even if restrained. I just don't want any of them on the surface. Yes, I do think this is our magician though. Looks like he's promising a great show." She concluded, a faint smile on her lips now. A great show indeed.
Sejv was getting more increasingly disturbed by the minute, those government types were getting increasingly more sinister and their conversation more hushed. He would have tried to listen in on their conversation if it wasnÂ’t for a little girl who had wandered up to him. He glanced her over to see she was still just a pupil, putting on a smile in an attempt to be polite. "IÂ’m reading, and I'm fine thanks." he said in a nice tone but not to nice, their was a very minute amount of strange in his tone. He wasnÂ’t really here for social chit chat and the seeing auras was one of his gifts. And the auras of those government types were a swirling mass of colour that seemed to be constantly changing in a way he didnÂ’t like. He had no idea why it just wasnÂ’t right, something seemed out of place although he couldnÂ’t think why. He didnÂ’t like the fact that they had a mage among them as well, not good at all. Still they were only talking about things but he couldnÂ’t shake the feeling he had. "Erm If you donÂ’t mind could you leave me to my work please." He said sweetly yet a bit over nice, in a way that it almost seemed fake. He had a feeling something bad was going to go down and it was giving him the jitters.
Quen was pleased. Very pleased. He hadn't expected Koani to say no to a live capture, but that didn't matter too much to him, he was going to capture them one way or another. He shifted slightly in his seat, his long tail scorching the ground as it rubbed along the frozen turf, the electricity flaring up in his excitement. "Catching a rapine would be the thing to get me to the top of the service... I know I can get alot of information from just one of them." He thought to himself, and actually gave a soft laugh out loud, his eyes glistening to an almost childlike joy kind of like when opening gifts on your hatchday to find you got what you wanted most. He retrieved his cell phone from his pocket and quickly punched in a few numbers. He would of had one of the tele-links Vythe was using, if it weren't for the fact that he felt uncomfortable with that piece of machinery in his head. His cell was modified to use specific frequencies with a large deal of encryption, so he felt it more secure than the connection to his mind. "It's Quenetym, incapacitate the Rapine ship and initiate Operative Alpha. Do not fail, or by Fronima I'll be up there myself." He voice was harsh, and it was true. If his men messed up, he would be up there in a second, whether on his own ship or teleported up to their's by one of the channellers, one of which was on each of his ships in orbit. He closed the cell and placed it back into his pocket. "We should have them in no time. I have five ships up in that area, completly cloaked. The Rapine won't know what's happening until their up to their ears in it." He grinned from ear to ear. No need to let Koani know he was going to capture the Rapine still, he'd tell her once he had it locked down and in one of his jails. As he finished speaking, his ears twitched slightly from a sensation coming from Sejv on the bench with the other students. He looked over to the arden, and openly stared at him, a rather unhappy look. Mumbling to himself he turned and looked back to Koani. "That one on the bench with the book.. He's probing us." Quen spoke with a good deal of venom in his voice. He did not like being the subject of information gathering of any kind. It was his point in life to know, and make sure others did not.
[Don't wait for me to post; I won't be as active anymore, I'll post if I find something I can get my chars into, besides that it's a very busy month for me so yah x.X] Joo-eun snorted and made a face, "Friendly.." she muttered under her breath as she received an amused glance from Kage. Although she was slightly offended, she made no moves to get up. Instead she shifted over a bit and turned on her cd player; her eyes closed at the sound of lyrical music. Although it wouldn't seem like it; Joo-eun Fai had a soft spot for lyrical dancing and lyrical music, it was her stress reliever. Kage seemed to be getting more and more edgy by the second; he kept hearing the word Rapine, but then he kept telling himself that he was hearing wrong, but then he'd hear "rapine" again and it just keeps going back and forth and he was terribly confusing himself. 'Damn..'
“What a sad day it'd be if they were ever to find out and report Ramath-lehi's co-ordinates to their superiors." Koani said quietly. For one reason or another though, her words seemed to lack sincerity. It was as if to her, Ramath-lehi had already been found, and it was only a matter of time before the rapine armada showed up on her doorstep. Koani smoothed down one of the lapels on her coat. She nodded at Quen's mention of having five of his ships on the rapine vessel. That seemed adequate to her. Not overly cautious, nor too pretentious. Just right. One's pride could be a very detrimental thing... and to underestimate any opponent, specially the rapine, could be fatal. “Hopefully your men are well equipped for the job. Not that I've reason to doubt them." Koani leaned back a little, her mind momentarily taking a trip. Part ra-nine and part artak. How strange things seemed now. How different too without her parents around. Without them to deny whatever it was that she had become. One of Koani's ears flicked off to the side, her many earrings jangling musically with the movement. Quen appeared to be rather annoyed by the fact of someone was listening in on their conversation. Koani on the other hand? She seemed to be in a relatively good humour. “I can remedy that," Koani said to him, a bit of a sly undertone in her voice. She propped her head up on her hand and looked over at the arden who Quen had just been openly staring at. “Hey," she called out to the stranger. “You there. It's quite rude to listen in on other's conversations. If you're so intent on hearing what we have to say, the least you could do is actually come over here and join us."
Sejv was looking at his book when he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stick up, the tingling and very uncomfortable sensation spreading slightly. He turned around to see the brutish arden staring at him with a stony and malicious eyes, Sejv stared back but with a mixture of a frown and disgust. He had no real idea why the arden was giving him nth degree looks but he didnÂ’t really want to know. He returned to his book, jotting down some simple notes about the first couple of pages when he heard the voice of Koani calling him out. His hand froze in mid sentence and he forcefully willed his neck to crane around, trying not to looked to shocked. "Oh I wasnÂ’t listing in, but I wouldnÂ’t refuse that invitation either." he said with a smile. inside though he was screaming rather loud, wandering why the hell he was doing this and where it was going to lead to. He placed his pen down in the book and folded it shut, slipping them all into his robe compartments. He somewhat confidently stood up and walked towards the table and sat down equal distance away from every one else. He was still partially shocked that he was sitting at a table in Janardan with the highest political figure on the planet. Having absolutely no idea what to say or do he just sat their blankly with a odd expression of bemusement plastered on his face.
Quen simply gave a nod as Koani spoke of the number of his ship and that it should be ample. He had studied a bit of the knowledge available about the rapine, and had come to the conclusion that no less than three of his vessels would be able to converge at one point to counteract any attack or poking. He raised a brow as Koani spoke out loud to the arden at the bench, and then began to snigger at her comment for the nioti to come over and join them if he was going to eavesdrop. Quenetym shifted slightly in his chair, his tailtip flicking back and forth slightly. His eyes watched Sejv as he pulled up a chair equal distance from both himself and Koani. This in itself illicited a chuckle from Quen. "Welcome to our little discussion, Sejv Massit, Journyman." He grinned as he spoke the 'dragons name and rank in his professions. He didn't wait for a reaction, though he was sure that he would get one. "I am Quenetym, and I'm sure you know who the lovely 'dragon on the other side of the table is already." He smirked, broadly, as he jestured towards Koani. "You seemed somewhat interrested in our conversation, or at least us in general. Maybe you have a thing or two to add to the fact that for some reason, many 'dragons feel it is perfectly alright to openly show disrespect and contempt towards the Graders? Maybe you could also give your opinion on the Rapine scout vessel in deep orbit about Ramath?" His smile left as he spoke, and was rather serious. He was always curious about the general publics opinion on the current events, maybe the youth could enlighten him, and perhaps entertain aswell.
Koani smiled rather demurely to herself. It wasn't that she enjoyed unnerving pendragons with her presence, well she did a little, she simply wasn't for the most part “allowed" to be around what her circle of trustees would refer to as “common civilians." At least, not without proper supervision. Janardan was a relatively safe place though. With its defensive magics and regulations concerning registered weaponry. Inviting Sejv over to talk was really against her usual protocol (as could be seen by the disapproving expression that Vythe was now wearing). She figured that the news of the rapine scout ship was reason enough to break proper etiquette, at least for a little while. “Yes, welcome," Koani said in greeting with a bright smile as Quen gestured toward her. That smile faded, but only slightly as Quen continued on. She hadn't been expecting him to speak so openly, first about the “Graders" relation to the public, and then the rapine. Both were rather touchy subjects after all. “Actually, I'd like to hear your opinions too, Sejv. It is always nice to hear an outside word after all, that hasn't been... filtered."
Sejv looked at Quen in a some what middle distance stare, trying to discern some things about him. He stopped his self from squinting for a moment as he examined the aura, it only took him about a second. All he could determine was that Quen did bad things to people, and liked it. It was Sejvs own personal of gaining tiny little bits of information, yet it didnÂ’t always work too well since he was no seer. He smiled at the both though and cleared his throat. "Well ok then, I think that as long as our "chosen" form of government is in fact some what of a dictatorship you will always have some rebels here and there. The good side of a Dictatorship of course is that you donÂ’t have any official opposition and no one can really object to your discussions." He said very thoughtfully. "If you want to reduce the number of rebels though i Think you need to give the people a sense of power, like let them vote on the council members or some other thing that gives them a sense of empowerment. As long as they think there voice can be heard they wont rebel so much." He said very seriously, he liked thinking about government type things, they were always a challenge. "And as for the Rapine vessel, it would be interesting it we could take out the Rapine and keep the ship. IÂ’m sure our engineers could find some interesting facts about it as soon as we deciphered their language. Maybe even a Seer or inner sight expert could find some fascinating clues, any advantage we can get into the Rapine tactics would be a god send. Since it is really just a matter of time." He said very gravely, he didnÂ’t really like to dwell on what would happen when the rapine came. He was sure they would win but he didnÂ’t want to think about the cost of winning. "Well thatÂ’s what I think anyway." He said somewhat meekly at the end. "Hope it helps." He said while a small half smile crept onto his face, he was still slightly giddy about being near her.
Quen smiled as he listened to Sejv speak. The arden knew a thing or two, that was for sure. Some of his ideas carried merrit. He nodded slightly as Sejv continued on, especially as he gave his opinion on the rapine vessel. He was just about to speak when his cell phone began ringing in his pocket. "One moment, please..." He said gravely as he stood up and stepped away from the table, pulling the cell from his pocket. "Hello?" Was the only word to come out of his mouth as he began pacing back and forth, nodding while whomever was on the other end of the phone spoke. His smile quickly dropped from his face though, right before he nearly yelled out "What?!" "I'll see what I can do. You'll know if I'm on my way..." He growled as he closed the phone before shoving it down into his pocket. He leaned down over Koani's shoulder, after giving a glance to Vythe, and whispered "There's been... Problems. I need to speak with you." He placed a hand on Koani's arm, the width of his hand easily as large as her arm. He barely touched her, but motioned for her to follow off to one side. "It's the rapine vessel," he whispered, adding "There's a Draconis Rapine on it." He made sure that when he spoke, he spoke quietly enough for only Koani to hear him.
