OOC: Who: Rakshasa Timestamp: 28 Dyo 81380 IC: Rakshasa Ruthian slinked silently along a limb, his gaze only looking directly below him at the massive quick sand that stretched around to at least fourty feet in diameter. Letting out a low sigh he licked his chops, the rough cat-like tongue rolling over the translucent whiskers and soft peach fur. His mind was on only one thing, getting home and making some supper. A twig snapped silently a few feet away and his right paw swung out, claws out and ready. When his paw hit the side of the tree he felt something wet and sticky seem to creep along the inside of his hand. Pulling his paw away in slight disgust he revealed to have squashed a young Varsinid. He smiled in slight amusement and shrugged, licking the bit of blood off of his paw. He then went back to his usual day to day thing of avoiding the massive quick sand pit. "With my luck, I'll fall to my doom any second. Most likely because this branch with break under my weight or some animal will catch me off gaurd and we will both fall to the grasping claws of death." He spoke this with such calm, as if it was an everyday thing. In fact it was, at least for him. He jumped just slightly as he heard a loud crack some ways off and latched onto the brach tightly with his claws and looked towards his left. Though he had to turn his head to where his right eye was looking that way easily, his bangs covering his left one.
Hearing a crack off into the distance, his ribbed ears pivoted around to get a better sound. He listened out for whatever it was and when there weren’t any more noises to be heard, he went back to his more recent predicament. A particularly large Dyrkleth was perched a short distance away from him, only barely noticeable by his eyes sticking up from under the murky water that was a short bit from the quick sand. The creature was preying on something, but Diavolo could not tell what it was. He left the beast alone, after spotting the arden cavorting around the pit of quick sand. Hoping that the ‘dragon was aware of his surroundings, he realised what the Dyrkleth might’ve been looking after. He wasn’t exactly sure what their diet consisted of, but their jaws were pretty damn big. He wouldn’t be surprised if it could swallow a pendragon whole. “Lost?" he question almost silently, not expecting the arden to overhear him. He’d like to warn the fellow about the swamp monkey that appeared to be watching him, but then there was also the thought of watching the scenario play out without interfering, and right now, that seemed like the better option. ‘Volo, being the obnoxious ‘dragon that he was, he toyed with the idea of splashing around in the water and covering himself in mud. He would pretend to be a swamp monster, but the idea of seeing someone run from a swamp monkey was much more intriguing than his own antics.
Rakshasa looked around once more and creeped to the edge of the branch, watching the nearby branch he was ready to leap onto. With his legs tight and ready like coils, he leaped through the air with perfect aim. Well at least till the damned Dyrkleth shot up out of the water, it's jaws snapping closed just mere inches below Rakshasa's belly. Yowling in fear and suprise, Rakshasa's body twisted in an atempt to get away. Though with this act he nearly missed the branch. His front claws latched onto the thick branch tightly while his back legs and lower half dangled over the water dangeriously, feet from the quick sand. A string of curses left Rakshasa's mouth and he growled as he saw the Dyrkleth get ready for another attempt to get him. The massive beast shot up out of the water again, pushing off the shallow floor of the water and snapped close to Rakshasa's rear as he pulled himself up close to the branch. "Go find some other snack you...." Once again a string of dirty curses left his mouth. Now instead of dying slowly in a pit of sand, I shall be mauled and eaten by a dratted swamp beast...Oh just my luck.
Regrettably, he felt somewhat sorry that he hadn’t warned him about the monster, but it was too late now. The slithery thing’s legs were so short that it would have to double step to catch him though, the only problem was his jaw reached pretty far and he didn’t have to walk so much to keep up with him because he was usually already in reach seeing as his mouth contributed about five feet of his fifteen foot long body. ‘Volo looked around for something to throw at it, to distract it long enough so that the arden wasn’t eaten by it. He reached around for something to hurl at it, and, grabbing the closest thing nearby which happened to be a piece of wood that was rather heavy to pick up, he chucked it in the direction of the thing. After doing so, he realised that the swamp creature would probably come after him, but left the plan of duty unoutlined unless that became the situation. “Not really a great place to linger," he said in the general direction of the ‘dragon that the Dyrkleth had been hoping to prey on.
IC: Rakshasa saw rather large peice of wood fly through the air and hit the beast right square in the side. It hissed in rage and began to slither towards the 'dragon that had thrown it. Catching the words of the 'dragon he carried the rest of him up onto the branch and growled at the Dyrkleth. "Hey! Slimy fruit ball!" The Dyrkleth began to go back towards Rakshasa and leaped once more at his tail that hung over. Rakshasa waited for this and swung his large paw out, his claws ripping open the top of the lizards jaw and it fell straight into the sand pit. The Dyrkleth struggled and struggled in the sand but to no avail, slowly it sank down into the grasping minions of a beach. Sighing in relief, Rakshasa looked around, spotting the 'dragon that had helped him. He cocked his head to the side, his tail swaying from side to side while his bright gold eye staired at him. Still his left eye was covered and quiet well as always. With a small, rare smile he spoke in his usual gruff voice. "Thank's for the help. If it wasn't for you I would have been ripped and gnawed to bits and become that lizards dung." OOC: I'm sorry, lol. I sorta had fun with this post. Specially with what Rakshasa says, hehe. :musicnote:
‘Volo felt a sigh of relief pass through his body after the monster sunk into the vat of quick sand. “Welcome." He leaned up against the trunk of the tree, studying the pendragon before him. “So, for what reason are you out in the swamps tonight?" he said in calm, mellow tenor tones. It was even an unusual place for Diavolo to be, but somehow he had found his way to the place. Now that the Dyrkleth was gone, the tension that he felt in his chest seemed to evaporate and leave him. Looking at the pendragon, he wondered what his name was, although if he didn’t offer it, there was no need to ask. “Name’s Diavolo, mate." He said, eyeing the vat of quick sand. “Nasty stuff," he commented in a lower voice, throwing a few pebbles into it and watching them sink beneath the muck. He began to wonder if he was loosing weight, because his shorts were beginning to slip off the sides of his hips. He did seem to feel slimmer, but he didn’t really need to loose weight. He wasn’t exactly thick anyway, and he felt kind of scraggly as it were. Forgetting the thought, he looked back to the ‘dragon and awaited his reply. Out of Character

Sorry for the wait and that it's on the short side.

OOC: It's alright, I may be kinda late postin' the these next couple of weeks. I have to sneak onto the computer just to post. ^^;....I'm supposed to be grounded right now. IC: Rakshasa's trade mark smirk flashed across his face and she settled him self comfortably onto the branch. His panther like form made him seem mostly different from all other 'dragons, for most were more of a lupin than feline form. He sighed as the other 'dragon stated his name. "Well one, I live out here about a quarter mile from this spot. And two, name's Rakshasa Ruthian. It's nice to meet someone out here. I haven't had company in over at least 3 months. If you want a dry place to sit and a good meal, you can come with me to my place if you wish." Rakshasa stood up completely now and turned his head around far enough so he could see with his right eye and turned gracefully around on the branch to face the other direction. He looked back at the other 'dragon quickly to see if he would follow, but his bangs uncovered his dull, misty grey eye and he just looked at Diavolo for a minute and then looked back ahead, his bangs covering the eye once more.
