Not that her crankiness was anything unusual--It was part of her routine. In fact, her life could be summed up to very little: waking up, complaining, getting up, complaining, eating, complaining, sleeping complaining... See the pattern? But, despite what others might think, (not that she saw any of those pesky 'others' anyway), she liked it that way. It gave a sort of rythm to her life. Or at least that was what she always told herself when a part of her wondered why on Lehi she had decided to settle in such a miserable place in the first place. Today, the subject of Estrella's unadulterated hatred was none other than the blistering cold, an indomitable foe that never seemed to leave her alone. No matter how much she covered herself, the wind always managed to chill her to the bone. <span style='color:cornflowerblue'>"Gods, this has got to be the worst day in my life. How is one supposed to live in the bloody cold?"</span> she muttered incoherently to herself. She was sure it was some kind of conspiracy, and that someone-up-there was having a hell of a time watching her suffer like no 'dragons business. Of course, it never occured to her that she might be exaggerating a tad bit. Perhaps it was some form of twisted justice then, that her day would actually turn out to be the worst in her life. </span></p></span></span>
A golden 'dragons head was buried in the corpse of a woods mammal. The unheard summon of a vampire reached her ears and they perked, only others could hear such a summon. Her wings opened suddenly as she took flight and landed directly behind Shadow. Tvim stood and looked at him hard.
shadow turned around with an inhuman speed, assesing the one who landed behind him. <span style='color:red'>tonight we feed </span>he growled throatily after realising she was of his kind. he howled another summon louder this time in a frequency only vampires and an unlucky few 'dragons.
<span style='font-family:Arial'><p align=justify><span style='color:#CCFFFF'> Estrella's teeth chattered noisily as she wrapped the makeshift shawl tightly arounf her shoulders. Gods, how she hated the cold! She absolutely abhored it. <span style='color:blue'>"Yes," </span>she mused,<span style='color:blue'> "Abhored is a good word."</span> She abhored the cold--almost as much has she abhored the company of other 'dragons. Those pesky, judgemental, beautiful good-for-nothings were the reason for her self inflicted sequestration after all. Perhaps she'd get back to her cave in time to catch the last rays of sunlight. That would be nice. She could then finish reading her book, and find out whether the beautiful heroine--for heroines in books are always beautiful--would meet a miserable end. Estrella secretely hoped she would. She could then watch the stars, tucked snuggly into her blankets, enjoying the fire's heat. The fire... Mmmm. Yes, that would be very lovely indeed. The 'dragon stopped short though, her ears pricking up as they picked up an unfamiliar noise. It was a nerve-wrecking howl that sent shivers up her spine... <span style='color:blue'>"Best not to linger,"</span>she decided, and increased her pace. She didn't know what kind of beast had produced that summon, but she definitely didn't want to stay and find out. </span></p></span></span>
Tvim walked closer to Shadow as he repeated his summon. She added her voice into the summon to increase it's range. She watched the woods around for some unsuspecting 'dragon or animal, but all the animals had fled at the sound of the howl.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td><span style='color:blue'>Thoughts,</span><span style='color:red'>Speech,</span><span style='color:gray'>Action</span> </td></tr></table> Ionni Kyluu was soaring in the skies. She looked down at the endless amounts of snow. She swooped down under the branches and landed. She wrapped a blanket around her, which she had kept in her pouch. Ionni enjoyed snow. As it fell endlessly, almost like a society, each snow flake having its own shape, being unique. She was staring into the sky when a scream disrupted her thoughts. Her eyes glew black and she drew a dagger. <span style='color:blue'> What was that?</span> Her ears were perked up and she was sniffing the air. Something was wrong. She ran and leapt up, expanding her large wings. She flew in the direction in which she heard it. Her head suddenly raged with pain, and she lost control of flight and crashed through the trees and landed into a pile of white snow. The pain was unexplainable, as she twisted and turned. She tried to stand up but she couldn't. <span style='color:blue'>I miss home already...</span>
OOC: glad to be here peeps BIC: Jahhar trudged through the snow. He kept his eyes searching. Searching for his traitorous siblings. They had betrayed "The Lost". If he could only find them, prehaps he could speak with them. What had gotten in to them?... As he moved through the thick layers of snow, he heard the howl of a vampire. The howl tugged at his vampire side to take over, but he shook his head. "I don't have time... I have a mission." However, he was looking for any clues which might lead him to his siblings, so he moved towards the noise. He spotted two vampires. [Fancy seeing anyone out in the barren wasteland...] though Jahhar to himself. He scanned them and read a brief bio on the two. Tvim and Shadow. Shadow was in teh S.O.B. A chance of luck, he had heard rumors that some of his siblings had started working closely with S.O.B. to take down "The Lost". He approached the two dragons who were howling loudly. As he neared the noise, it became harder to resist the urge to change into his vampiric form, but he resisted anyways. "What are the two of you doing out her?" questioned Jahhar, in a voice above their roaring.
i have plans to hunt, you are a true breed? he questioned telepathically, do you join us? <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>sorry for the shortness but i tryin to keep the posting goin'</td></tr></table>
<span style='font-family:Arial'><span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'> <p align=justify><span style='color:#CCFFFF'> <span style='color:cornflowerblue'>"Just my luck. Ye Gods, just what have I done to deserve this?"</span> Strella's mutter was lost in the howling wind. She considered raising her arms towards the sky for a more dramatic effect, almost gave in to the childish impulse, but finally decided against it. After all, it was getting rather late and her antics would only delay the pleasurable warmth that awaited her back at the cave. Besides, at the ripe age of sixteen, 'Strella had already committed several not altogether redeeming acts, such as that of being part of an anti-Grader group of rebels or that of taking part in the capturing and kidnapping of innocent niotis. No, she had never been a Saint. She didn't see why now would be the time to start. And so she quickly decided she wouldn't bring assistance to the 'dragon she had seen fall from the sky. No. That would be foolish. She only hoped that whomever had howled the summon would be attracted to the wounded 'dragon and that they would leave her the very well alone. </span></p></span></span>
Ionni shot her eyes up. It was cold and her teeth chattered noisily through the woods. She staggered through the snow, in the direction of the cry. Her eyes were shimmering black and she wrapped the cloak tight around her. She was unsure of this one, though. Her gut feeling was to go back, but she couldn't. She was desired...but that burning desire would soon change her life... Ionni peered over and saw a 'dragon. <span style='color:blue'>What a relief...</span> She trudged through the dense snow, yelling <span style='color:red'>Excuse me, is everything okay? Do you know what that yelling was?</span> Ionni could sometimes be the pain in the butt, but only sometimes. She hopped over the snow and landed facing the 'dragon. <span style='color:red'>Hi! I'm Ionni Kyluu!</span> She held out a gentle hand. <span style='color:red'>Who might you be?</span>
Shadow turned towards ionni <span style='color:red'>i'm your murderer... </span>he took a menacing step towards her <span style='color:red'>run....</span> he roared
Ionni drew back her and and stumbled over. <span style='color:red'>RUN!!!</span> she yelled to the pendragon. She stood up, and tripped, almost losing her balance. She needed an open area, she couldn't fly!!! Ionni quickly glanced back. A bloody hulk was gnarling, chasing closely behind her. She looked past him, and tried to spot the other pendragon. A vampire stood ready to kill her, <span style='color:yellow'>dont let her die...</span> Ionni fell over a ditch, and rolled down a hill, coming to a stop when she hit a tree. The vampire slowly approached, his teeth sharp, and claws drawn.<span style='color:red'>Shit...I....dont....want....to....</span> The sun was over the horizon. Freash blood would soon be spilt, and hope lost...
Shadow loped after Ionni, a brilliant reaction. the beast inside him laughed, he could smell her fear and it was delicious, he neared her until he was inches from her, pulling her towards him, playing with her, letting her think it was the end but it wasnt, oh-no, he would wait until she couldn't move another muscle, till she gave up, till she welcomed the death, pleaded for a quick end, yes.....he would make her suffer.....
'Strella's bright eyes darted left and right as she tried her best to find the familiar landmarks that would take her to the warmth and safety of what had come to be her abode--her 'home'. How fast the sun had set... Leaving her all alone with herself, and the invading darkness, both in the outside world and within. Her conscience, something she had long thought killed and buried in the deepest chasms of her self seemed to have found the need to resurface at the most inopportune of times. It seemed to tell her that perhaps she should have helped the 'dragon who fell after all. Perhaps... Perhaps it was fear as well that made her wish she had sought the company of the other 'dragon. She loathed the company of others of course, but she wasn't a fool and she knew that her chances of survival might have been heightened had she chosen to make her presence known. "The strength is in the numbers..." Wasn't that what she had always been taught as nioti? Not that she had ever believed in it, but now that sentence seemed to ring true somehow. She knew that if whatever beast was hunting that night were to find her then her chances of escape would be close to nil. Her days of cocky talk and defiance and so called independence seemed so far away... And so riculous, too. 'Strella was woken out of her state of deep thought though, when a scream suddenly pierced the air and sent her blood curdling. The Beast had found its prey... And they were close. "Shit." she thought, running frantically in what she hoped was the opposite direction from where the shout had come from... She ran. Branches, wind and sharp blades of grass, were many painful obstacles she took no heed of. Her cowardly heart was pounding, demanding that it bee realeased, as though it, too, should like to flee to safety while the other organs and the body would be left to face the danger on their own.
The beast approached Ionni, a lurking figure. There was nothing to be done, her limp body lay covered with snow. She lifted her head up, and couhed. <span style='color:yellow'>This bitch isn't going to get me like this...</span> She began to stand, and flipped her hair back over her shoulder. She met the beasts eyes. She was at work now, and she focused, although her eyes were bright black. She spoke softly and melodicly. <span style='color:red'>Such power and might....</span> The hulk grunted and grabbed her neck, snarling. <span style='color:red'>N-No... listen....</span> Ionni stroked his chest softly and calmly and she gently kissed his lips. <span style='color:red'>You w-wouldn't want a pretty girl like me being nasty, now, would you?</span> She took her free hand and slowly moved it down to her belt. The beast didn't notice, and let go of her neck. Ionni swallowed hard and fluttered her eyes. <span style='color:red'>N-Now if you were to convert me...</span> She was trying to make time. She grasped the dagger, and kissed him again. Its face was bloody but she didn't show her disgust. <span style='color:yellow'>Die you son of a bitch!</span> She tokk the dagger out and kicked the beast back. <span style='color:red'>Not one step!!</span> She held the dagger infront of her, and slowly stepped back. Her eyes twitched and adrenaline rushed through her body. <span style='color:yellow'>Where is that godamn 'dragon?!</span>
Tvim had watched Shadow's assault on the other 'dragon. She saw the second one running, It looked like one who had been described to her from a little boy's horror. She hated to convert the savior of the only mortal she was friends with, but if she did not eat tonight, she would surely die. She launched and landed in front of 'Strella. Her teeth bared, she slowly approached her. As the woman stumbled backwards, Tvim let out a howl letting shadow know she had caught the other.
Shadow laughed a blood-curdling laugh, she was a character the beast in him even admitted so... but he had to feed tonight. his eyes flashed a deep red as he went back to his bipedal form, this would confuse the hell out of her he thought as he gave her an inoccent look. <span style='color:red'>are you alright? your..neck, it bleeds...let me help you, what happened to you?</span> he looked her in the eyes, mumbling under his breath a stun spell so she would drop the dagger. inside the beast laughed. <span style='color:red'>look, let me stanch the flow... </span>he crooned using his Vamire charms to their full extent, <span style='color:red'>your fur its covered in blood... i can help you... </span>he coaxed he heard a howl, the other had been caught. <span style='color:red'>Its coming back for you! </span>he said indicating to the howl, he was going to try and make her think she had hallucinated or something. anything to get his meal....
Jahhar stood back to let the vampire do its work. No sense in getting into a fight over the female. Suddenly, Jahhar had a flashback as he saw himself when Sieben had once tried to feast on his blood. His attitude changed as he realized that doing nothing would be a crime. "Stand down, this one is mine." spoke Jahhar harshly towards Shadow. He ran towards Ionni and pushed Shadow out of the way. He picked up Ionni and flew her to a nearby grove of trees. As he flew, he could smell the scent of her blood. He quickly put her down. "Leave... get out of here..." said Jahhar quickly, his vampire self on the verge of coming out. He moved away from her and redirected his attention to Shadow who was no more than 20 meters away. He glanced towards Tvim who was chasing another dragon before looking at Shadow again. Shadow would surely attack Jahhar for what he had done, but it was no matter now. What had been done was done.
<span style='color:yellow'>What the hell?</span> Ionni watched the two vampires snarl and hiss at each other. But she had no time to watch. She got up and ran. She looked aimlessly for an opening, franticaly running here and there. Light shone down on an open area. Ionni was relived, and she stretched her wings. She was running and was soon to jump, when she tripped on a tree root. <span style='color:red'>Shit!</span> Her knee stung with pain and she cried out. Ionni seemed like a useless rag doll, ready to be torn apart. <span style='color:yellow'>Damn you, spirits! Damn you all!</span> Ionni staggered, and blinked her eyes repeatadly. <span style='color:yellow'>Is this a dream?</span> She put her back to a tree. Ionni could feel death entangling her legs, up her thighs, to her stomach- a cold and painful feeling. <span style='color:yellow'>No!</span> She spun out from the tree and ran as fast as she could. Her wings were spread apart and she was gaining speed. She jumped up, and flapped her wings crazily. <span style='color:yellow'>W-What is this? I-I cannot move... It is a dream, i thought...</span> She let her eyes shut, mumbling <span style='color:red'>Its only a dream, just a dream, nothing to fear...</span> Ionni awoke, sweating wildly. It was early morning, and the sun hadn't even came out yet. She giggled, <span style='color:red'>Only a dream...</span> She hoped out of bed and searched the house. <span style='color:red'>Mother!</span> But her calls were unheard. Ionni's lip trembled and she ran to the front door and burst out. The air was cold and windy, and the sky was black and red. The normal, green grass that usually was in the front yard was charred and burnt. A terrible, demented figure approached. It kackled and snarled. Ionni turned around but there was no long a house. The figure kept approaching, closer, closer, closer. Ionni collapsed and buried her face into her arms. <span style='color:red'>I do not want to die yet!</span> Her eyes opened. She looked into the sky, as tiny flakes of snow fell down on her face. Her limp body lay a hopeless soul in the snow. It was only a matter of time before she was transformed, it was only a mtter of time before her suffering ended, and she would feed for once in her life...
