  1. Timestamp: 32 Tessera (Autumn), 81379
    Character: Magnus
Where: overly top fancy room in the Mage guild headquarters.

Magnus stood perfectly motionless as he awaited the new journeymen to arrive in the room for his test. The room itself was a large hall that was black around the walls with red drapes, it had many candles everywhere plus a chandelier or too. It was all very over the top and dramatised yet the guild was always like that. To get a very high rank you even had to fancy someone in single combat, but to become a journeymen was just a test of Magical skill. It could be a little harsh however and but he was confidant it would all run smoothly. After all they had only had 5 deaths on this trial.

"May the apprentice enter now and make his own fate." Magnus said while he mental killed himself over in his mind. he hated the stupidly formal words that echoed cheesiness. He felt liek pouring jam over his eyes and letting ants attack him in a evil insect rage.

He look towards the double doors with anticipation, once an apprentice had even bottled out completely and just never showed up again. He somewhat hoped it would happen again just to give the staff something to moan about and laugh.

  2. It was the day, the big day of his test where both his magical skills would be tested and his own endurance would be pushed to the limit, or at least that's what he was told was about to happen. Jett figured that he was told that so he would flunk out and run but that wasn't what he was about to do. In all reality he was actually pretty calm and stable in the knowledge of his own abilities, he was a Feydragon after all and they were known for their expertise in magic. Not only that but he was never the type to overstress himself over things even if they needed to be stressed over, instead he just liked to grab the bull by it's horns and hope he came out of things unscathed.

It wasn't long before he arrived infront of the large doors and heard Magnus speak out past them, addressing him to come inside. Well this is it, time for success, he thought to himself. He nudged the door open and his small dark black figure poked through. He had his leathery wings tucked to his side with his tail flame burning bright red in excitement. He was walking on all fours as he made his way through the room to stand infront of his examiner. The room itself was very extravagent but in his short time in the guild he realized that it was a trend to make all the rooms like this.

"Hello there, I take it your my examiner? My names Jett, I guess you know that already." he said, smirking with excitement.

  3. Magnus sighed, this creature was obviously a idiot. Of course he knew its name and yes he was the examiner. He really found it irritating when people felt the need to point out every single, and painstakingly obvious fact of the world around them. Magnus knew his brain was going to turn to mush half way through this, yet at least the boys insane speaking broke the seriousness atmosphere of the area.

"Yes and yes to both your questions, and if you notices anything else about your self feel free to tell else." He said in the most sarcastic voice he could muster, he laughed at himself really as he was just a grumpy old kiom.

Still, if at any single point the little fey said that he looked funny he was going to blast the undersized, "special" little creature to hell and back again. He had already had to burn someoneÂ’s hand who had poked his mask, sometimes people had no manners.

"Now you first test it one of magic, you must destroy a stone statue of you self in a reasonable short time." Personally Magnus liked this trail, it was supposed to very metaphoric that they had to defeat their fear and such. Also the statue was immune to simple spells, it encouraged people to get creative.

  4. Jett was a little lost in the way that his examiner was acting, he sure was a snob. All Jett wanted to do was lighten up the situation and the pendragon decided to be all sarcastic. Well Jett was going to show the guy wrong, sure the man was alot stronger then he was but Jett knew he could do good, and beating a stone body made in the form of himself seemed like an easy task. Stone was weak against water and he was a cryokinetic so he already had a few plans formulating in his mind.

"No problem sir, now where exactly is the statue?" he asked, looking around the room with his ruby red eyes. The little feydragon was always aware of his surroundings but things could always slip out of his eyesight, and a small 3' statue wasn't as obvious as it would sound. After all; strange things seemed to blend into the way the room was built.

OOC:Sorry I wasn't sure if you wanted me to make the stone statue and destroy it all in the same post.

  5. Magnus sighed incredibly heavily making a dramatic show off being pissed off. He looked upwards at one of the walls and waved making a show off it all. "Could you please turn the light on for hells sake, he cant even see the damm statue." He screamed up at them, his voice full of anger and frustration.

He didnÂ’t like people that had Cryokinesis trades, because their was only one conclaver who had that trade and they often had aspirations of beating her one day. The thought alone mad him sick, let alone anyone who actually had it.

It was one of the reasons he hated apprentices, especially ones that made his life difficult by not being excellent. Other wise he would have to help them god forbid.

He sighed heavily as the lights illuminating the room, dispelling all the darkness and reviling the grey onyx statue that was a perfect replica of the apprentice.

"Do begin" He said tiredly and letting his hand slip to the timer in hsi pocket. He had 5 minutes.

  6. Well ya coulda had the lights on from earlier, he thought to himself bitterly as the room flooded with bright light from some source he couldn't figure out and had no time to since hte statue was now in his line of sight and the time was now rolling. So instead of wasting time on figuring out where the light was coming from he quickly set forth to the statue, running at full speed towards it. He hoped that this would knock the statue over and shatter it quickly, the idea quickly shattered itself as Jett colided with the statue but instead of the statue tipping over Jett was thrown back and pelted towards the floor.

Ok so that didn't work, he thought to himself grudingly as his eyes shrugged away the haze that was starting to form from the collision and refocused on the statue. He then closed his eyes and muttered a few words and then focused all his energy back at the statue. The result was a huge puddle start to form at the feet of the statue.

He hoped the water weakened the statue as he threw himself at it again, but it seemed to have no effect and time was running out and so were Jett's ideas. He had one last idea so he quickly closed his eyes and muttered some more words. He then reopened his eyes and refocused all his energy and attention onto the statue. It was an immediate effect, the statue was covered with ice from head to toe. It was a weird feeling to see himself encased in ice but he couldn't dwell on the idea as he closed his eyes again and began to chant a spell to summon a fire elemental.

It took him half a second to summon up a weak fire elemental but that was all he needed as the small fire imp leaped from the ground and charged at the ice statue. It took a minute longer for the statue to grow weak and a few seconds for Jett to charge once more at the statue, effectivly shattering it into a ton of pieces. The whole ordeal had him drained but he couldn't help and smile at the work he had done in just moments.

"Good enough, sir?" he said, turning to Magnus with an excited look on his face covering up the real exhaustion he had, he didn't want to seem weak infront of his examiner which was already looking down on him.

  7. Magnus smiled at the students efforts, their was something vaguely valiant about a 3 foot dragon pixy running head first into a rock and expecting it to break. It was like so stupid it was heroic. Yet he held back a mighty laugh when he expected a puddle to do something to the hard rock, he came to the firm conclusion that this Jett was overly bright.

He had seen a student once who was a beast of a Pendragon, he was actually a Lukuo to be specific yet he was 10 " tall. He had simply punched the statue with a ring of fire around his hand, now that had been impressive. He looked at the timer again and the student had 2 minutes left, it didnÂ’t look very good at all.

Yet Jett had pulled through with the contraction expansion techniques that seemed to work rather effectively. If it was Magnus doing it and those where his specialties then he would have done the same, or just try and melt it.

"Yes very good Jett yet now you have to face a slightly harder challenge. You have to beat a armed swordsmen and only using magic, if you so much as touch him you lose." Now this was an interesting challenge, it was designed to show the superiority of magic over armed men yet it was often just hilarious.

Magnus did however underarm throw a potion in JettÂ’s direction, "Drink that and also your allowed to have a five minute rest. The potion will help revitalise you and help with recoil. Also if you have some snack food you can eat it now." He said in a neutral tone now, Jett had redeemed himself a bit now in Magnus eyes yet he still had a way to go. Magnus leaned on his staff for a little extra support while he waiting for the student to finish.

  8. Jett was very proud with himself and how Magnus was now seeming to respect him just a little more. He didn't exactly need other peoples respect but he hated to be looked down upon just becuase of his size, even though his actual look seemed harsh and impressive. "Thank you sir, I do try my hardest after all," he said as he grabbed the potion and the snack food. He quickly gulped down the potion and immediatly became much more alert and aware to all his surroundings. Ideas for his next task were already flowing through his mind as he turned and caught sight of the armed man decked out in mithril armor with a large gleaming broadsword. If it was meant to scare the little feydragon, it didn't work.

Jett was just about to shoot a spell at the man when he started to charge out of no where, throwing off Jett's concentration and making him duck for cover under a large oaken table which shattered into splinters at the force of the broadsword which sliced through and cut the tip of Jett's wing, but the adrenaline was to strong in him that he didn't even feel the pain as the blood started to slowly trickle down. "Sorry about the table!" he said almost comically towards Magnus as he quickly turned and refocused on the soldier. It was then that he had a brilliant idea.

Instead of the looking at the man he quickly scanned the room with his ever alert eyes, already knowing where to find what he was looking for. And sure enough his sight landed on a large stone pillar high off the ground. It was then that Jett ran at full speed towards the pillar and taking flight at the last minute. It was a little rough for him to land with his slightly injured wing but he managed and quickly looked down at the now approaching soldier.

Good now I can focus, he thought to himself as he sent all his energy down to the ground below him, covering it with ice and making it a slippery trap for the man. But he knew that wasn't going to be enough to defeat the challange so he quickly summoned up two small water elementals and set them to attack the now slipping armed fighter.

Jett tried hard to supress a please grin as he saw the futile attempts of attack by the soldier. The water elementals were already pretty much immune to physical attacks as the sword cut through the water harmlessly but the water's strong fists were hitting their marks as they quickly overwhelmed the slipping man. "I sorta feel bad for the guy," he said over to Magnus from the top of his pillar, thinking he had won the challenge.

  9. Magnus watched with intrigued to see how he would handle it, the guy was a good swordsmen if a little bit brutish though. He wasnÂ’t going to kill the Jett just cut him then trap him. Or bring the sword down for a death blow but stop just before, yet Jett seemed to be doing a good job of avoiding him. T one point it looked like he was going to try and ram one of the pillars but didnÂ’t, much to Magnus's disappointment since it would have been to funny.

Yet little Jett still insisted on the strange pointless comments, it was very odd for an apprentice to be so vocal about things that didnÂ’t matter. Yet Magnus was well aware that young people couldnÂ’t always think straight. Magnus was distracted by his thinking when his boots froze over, he looked around to see quite a large portion of the floor covered in ice and the fighter slipping around while getting battered by water elements.

It looked like the fight was more or less over. With a clap of his hand she dispelled the ice and teh water elements. Just however after the swordsmen fell flat on hsi back, "Yes well done, you can come down now if you will" He said as two arden hurried the swordsmen out of the room.

Their was only one task left and it was meant to be the hardest yet it could quite often be one of the easiest. "Well your next challenge is to complete your first assignment, when you get back from it alive and successful then your a fully qualified journeymen." He said with a smile even though it was hidden behind his mask.

  10. Jett was very proud of himself as he saw the soldier being dragged off to the outside of the room. If the Feydragon could grin anymore he would, but it was then that a sharp pain coursed through his wing. "Damn it," he murmered under his breath as he tried to hold back a grimace. The pain wasn't that bad and neither was the blood but the dumb sword must have skimmed across a nerve which would explain for the sharp pains that shot through his fragile leathery wings. But he was determined not to show any sign of distress as he gently glided down off the pole and walked over to the front of Magnus.

"My first assignment?" he asked curiously, excitement was already coursing through his veins, pushing away the sharp pains that were already starting to leave. He had never been on an assignment, and going on one now intrigued him a whole lot. It was his chance to really show the guild his worth, maybe earning him the upgrade he had so longed for since he first began to sweep the floors of the various rooms in the guild.

  11. Magnus looked at the apprentice with some concern, he may not like people but seeing them killed or hurt was never good. He began to reach into his pocked of his robes while Jett wandered a little closer. His thumbed a vial in his pocket held back from giving it to him straight away when his attention peaked, Magnus believed it was a good to learn how to cope with pain.

"Yes your assignment, you have to complete a task for the guild to confirm you can handle the tests and trials of a journeymen Mage. Your first task will be to meet the senior mage Sejv Massit and go with him to retrieve a certain item for us. You might want to get some equipment first from he enchanters." He said with little emotion in his voice.

It was at that point he handed over the vial of shimmering blue, sparkling liquid that seemed to flow around in a peculiar way. "Take this, it will heal that cut of yours" He said with a little, not much, but a little kindness in his voice. He wasnÂ’t all mean.

  12. OOC:Would we be doing the assingment in the thread?

IC:Jett smiled gratefully at the wise 'dragon. He may have seemed bitter in the beggining, and he still wasn't exactly Aunt Jemima, but Jett defininetly noticed the change in his examiners demeanor. If Magnus was still the same person he was in the beggining of this trial then Jett would have doubted that the 'dragon would have even given his cut a fleeting glance but here was the pendragon handing him a small vial to help relieve his pains. Guess you can't read a book by it's cover, or it's mask in this case.

"Thank you sir, it's very appreciated." Jett said as he swallowed the vial and a strange feeling coursed through his body. It felt like his wing was almost growing, and sure enough as he took a glance Jett could see that the small part that was missing was now back, his wing was back to normal and there was no pain to be felt. Magic worked in strange ways.

"So what would you recomend me getting from the enchanters and where can I find Sejv? Would he be expecting me because I really don't want to get blown up or something." Jett spoke while taking fast peeks at his healed wing. He wasn't surprised at how the magic worked but he always hated losing things, ever since his sister.

Magnus looked at Jett with a deep sigh, he was still a bit scanty at times yet it wasnÂ’t so bad. Yet he decided that he was defiantly going to need some help if he was going to complete his assignment. He would have to talk with Sejv to make sure he got a helping hand. Obviously he wouldnÂ’t let Jett know he was going to get help, it would spoil his reputation.

"Yes well just go to the enchanter and take what you think you will need. A weapon of some sort would be a nice idea, I think your type quite like swords yet they have guns and bows and other things. Even a Staff if you prefer." he said with some hope, so many of the apprentices insisted on flashy weapons and hardly none favoured the traditional staff.

Yet he had to admit, he had seen a fair few journeymen use a sword to conduct magic. "oh and yes some defensive things are a must. Now IÂ’m going now, Sejv will contact you once you ready." He said as he turned to walk off, he didnÂ’t feel like answering more questions.
