Mia 44, 81380 WARNING- POSSIBLE LANGUAGE Janardan Academy-Dorms Temyc silently slept with his head near the keyboard of his computer. Drool slowly pooled around his mouth as he slept having rather-um- naughty dreams about Chiara which made him have a slight smile as he slept. Twitching slightly. He was waiting for an email tonight and it was rather late. He fell asleep as he sat at his computer waiting for his contact. There was an auction tonight of rare jewerly closed off to the public going on somewhere near the central dome of Aurius. Most likley allot of big names there. And he would get a list of everyone who won something. Why did he care so much on who won what? Well, it was because of the possiblility of something of his being sold that night. one of the 13 items of the Duji famliy artifacts. Rare jewerly that was beleived to be handed down in the famly from the days of the dragons. And it was believed that the Djui famliy was indeed dragon. 7 of these 13 items rested in a lead safe, hidden somewhere were it could not be found easly. Temyc had only to find 6 more and his destiny, his duty given to him as a child would be complete. And he hoped tonight would be one of those nights that he would find the 8th.
Kakosenas sat perched on a high cement building curb, her right leg dangling off the edge. The evening had been a long one. Right now she was watching as the crowd slowly dispersed from the auction house. She'd been in there earlier and had happened upon a few items that had struck her fancy. Small trinkets for the most part. The selection here in Aurius actually wasn't half bad. They got imports from all sorts of places, including a few isolated ocean islands. It was the items imported from the islands that had caught Shriker's immediate attention. Still, the chimera preferred the selection on Bhim. Of course, the reason for such the wide selection on Bhim was because the vast majority of the items had been acquired illegally some way or another. Her in Aurius though, everything was squeaky clean. Shriker stood up and walked along the tall curb, her tufted tail out and gently swaying with her step. Once she had reached the end of the curb, she hopped down from her four foot high vantage point and continued on her way. Her “pad" in Aurius was quite a ways away, and although she rather liked it, she was in no real hurry to get home. The night life in Aurius was always something grand. The way that the artificial lights dimmed, the soft magic glows and thrumming from the shields... It was simply a spectacular city.
There was a beep. Temyc woke up quickly with an adbrupt grunt and sat up. His moniter blipped, showing he had a new e-mail. He opened it up and there it was. The list. Everyone who had bought anything at tonights big auction. He scrolled down it, first looking at the items. And if the item was anything he was looking for then he would look at the person. But so far nothing. He was almost near throwing the dang e-mail out when one of the very last people on the list popped up. There was also alittle info on her so it was going to be alittle easier to find this girl. Kakosenas Shriker. He stood, grabbed a duffle bag which wasd on his bed, put on his coat and was out of his dorm. On his was to Aurius. He hoped to get there as quickly as possible. He got in his car and drove down to the harbors many miles off. "Soon, very soon." he held up the picture of Shriker and smiled.
Shriker slunk down the sidewalk, her right hand lightly trailing across the surface of a rather ornate black iron fence. The shadows in Aurius' simulated night time environment were already quite deep and Kakos found herself playfully skipping from one of them to the other. Eventually she reached the end of the fence and Shriker stopped cold. She looked up at the tall, wide gateway that she had come across. It was one of the many entrances to the public Aurius Central Park. She had only been to it on a few occasions, but had rather liked it. Shriker slipped through the open gates and started to walk along one of the park's many winding paths. The paths themselves, at least by night, were illuminated by lines of small multi-coloured lights. The result was a feeling of almost walking on pure light energy waves. Shriker marveled over this for a moment. Even if she had had a shadow, this under-lighting would have successfully vanquished it. Shriker quietly continued along. She passed a couple who were out for a midnight stroll. The paid her no mind. Eventually she came across a bench. It was on this that Kakos chose to sit for a moment. She drew her legs up and tilted her head back to look up at the “sky." It wasn't a real sky of course. There were not stars. No moons. Instead, framed by the tall trees in the park, there was a dark, swirling colourful mist. It was the magic infused force field after all that kept Aurius safe and wrapped up like a pretty package underneath the sea.
Within a few hours the small under water vessel Temyc had boarded to get to Aurius had arrived and Temyc silently walked into the night lits of Aurius. "Now where to find her." he smiled and began to walk with a slight haste through out the city. His mind wandered about how hard this may be for him. This girl did look small in her picture that was taken of her, but she could have some sort of tricks up her sleeve. And sinok had no magic powers as far as he knew. Eventually learning his location in the city and the exact address of this "Shriker" was allot farher then he expected he looked for a cab. But in the late night it was hard to find one. He wondered if he should try to find some sort of Public transportation. His yellow eyes scanned the area. Silence had fallen upon this part of the city and it discomforted him. He tighted the strap of his duffle bag across his chest and kept walking till he could find a cab, which none were in sight.
Although Kakosenas could never really grow tired of observing the swirling magical shell, she figured that at last it was time to go. She swung herself to her feet, straightened the black jacket that she was wearing, then started back the way from whence she came. Shriker hooked her thumbs in her pant pockets as she walked, her tail swaying with her step. Rather quickly she came across the entrance to the park. She exited from it and gave the place a glance over her shoulder as she smiled to herself. Nighttime was always the right time. With a slight skip in her step, Kakos swept along the sidewalks, crossing the deserted streets with ease. Well, not so deserted it seemed. Shriker soon stumbled across an individual traveling along the opposite side of the street. He had a large bag with him, and was looking rather lost as he looked up and down the streets. Was he waiting for a ride? He wasn't going to have any luck if so. “Public transportation stopped 'bout half an hour ago," she called over to him from across the street, shrugging her shoulders as she did so. Tourists. “There's a hotel with a vacancy about two blocks back that way though. Couple bars still open too," Kakos continued, and jerked her head in the direction that she had just come from. Not waiting for a response, because she really couldn't be bothered, Shriker continued along down the sidewalk. Her pace quite leisurely for someone traveling alone and at night.
"Oh, thanks" Temyc said back not seeming to relise who this was. He began walking then stooped dead in his tracks. He pulled out a peice of paper in his pocket and looked over the picture he had. Mother Fuc- He turned his head slowly to Shriker then turned around and ran after her, deciding to put on an act. "Hey, where is the nearest bar anyways?" he said trying not to scare her. "Maybe you can show me the way?"
Shriker's hackles prickled as she heard the oncoming noise of the stranger chasing after her. Apparently her advice hadn't been good enough for him. Was he stupid or something? She glanced over her shoulder, her stalking pace slowing up a little as her yellow eyes narrowed. “A few blocks back that way," she said, unhooking her left hand from her pants in order to point a taloned finger in the direction she was walking away from. If he had mistaken the direction in which she had indicated before, there would be no mistaking it now. “It's Downtown Aurius. If I was going in that direction, which I'm not, then maybe I'd humour you and show you the way. However, since I'm not, and am instead going this way," Kakos said with a bit of a flourish as she pointed to the darkened streets ahead of her, “you're rather out of luck. Unless, perchance... you can convince me that you're worth going out of my way for."
Temyc was silent for a moment. He scratched the back of his head for a moment. "Well i can buy us a couple rounds of drinks. " he smiled and hoped she would say yes. it would make this a bunch more easier. He could "escort" her home, hopefully drunk as a dog and then lay her down on her couch or something then steal the 8th item. "Come on, I would hate to go to a bar alone."
Shriker stopped walking and turned around to face the stranger. The fingers on her left hand twitched a little involuntarily. She was rather used to being trailed these days. A lot of pendragons seemed to be after her. Some vengeful, some wanting only to offer a pat on the back, whereas other types wanted only information. Her secrets. Shriker had even been approached on multiple occasions by young ardens and thills wishing to be her apprentice. It was rather disconcerting at times. So when this stranger offered to buy her drinks, Kakos immediately grew suspicious. Her yellow-hued eyes darted to the travel bag he was carrying, then back to his face. “Are you a reporter?" she asked after a moment, disregarding his bar invitation for the time being.
He raised a brow. "No. Im a musician." he saw her eyes wander to his bag and he opened the main part up, pulling out an interesting looking bass ooc: Heres what the bass looks like :) http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b233/The_Leech/attachment.jpgBass</a> ic: "I got invited to try out for a band in 2 days. But the only decent ride i could afford was tonight." he smiled and put the bass back in the bag, carefully. Thank god for cover stories...and props. He zipped the bag up and smiled. "Why do you care IF i was a reporter? Are you like some sort of celebrity that had a drunken brawl with someone some years back?" He chuckled.
Was he mocking her or something? His last comment had been rather close to the truth and Kakosenas hadn't liked it at all. “No... that was my friend and colleague, Riot... and she did it on my behalf. She wasn't drunk either," Shriker commented idly, although more so to herself than to the stranger. She was rather proud of Riot's actions. The fact that the young arden had a guitar had piqued her interest a little bit. She actually knew quite a few musicians and bands now. A few even had contracts with Shadowlack and time slots for specified performance nights at a few of their clubs. “I'm Kakosenas Shriker, co-CEO of Shadowlack Incorporated," she said after considering him for a moment. If he wanted to play stupid, that was his business. She knew fully well that both Riot and her faces were still being circulated by the media. “I suppose that I'm not really in that much of a rush to get home. What band are you trying out for?" she asked as her left thumb hooked into the pocket of her pants. She'd humour him, for a little bit at least. Until she got bored anyway.
Temyc infact had never seen Shriker's face or heard her name before recently. He didnt watch much television nor did he go for much media. To him they were tyring to brainwash him. He would listen to radio and such but not often..maybe if he wanted some music. "A band called Furgamor. Newer band. Started with abassist and kicked him out recently. Apparently he thought he was better then them" he shrugged and waited for her to begin walking so he could walk with her.
“Furgamor... can't say that I've heard of them," she said quietly. Everyone and their second cousin twice removed had bands these days. Still Shriker didn't move to start walking with him. She had introduced herself after all. She had been expecting him to respond with his name, as was the general custom. Yet the tall arden had somehow skirted around, or had simply forgotten to introduce himself. Perhaps she made him uncomfortable or something. Shriker seemed to have that effect on a lot of pendragons. “So, do you have a name?" she asked after a moment.
"Temyc. My name is Temyc." he always liked giving his real first name, otherwise he would forget the name he gave her later if he had a few and just blab about how his name was Temyc anyways. Then he might blow his cover and have to start again or something like that. He smiled at her and shifted the weight of the duffle bag to another side as he waited for her, his tail wrapped around his left leg and glew a hot pink of excitment, wanting to get to that bar. He looked towards her feet, wondering if she was wearing the 8th item yet.
“Temyc? Hn, nice to meet you then I suppose." She rose an eyebrow as the colour of the arden's tail flame changed colour. She then noticed that his gaze had dropped. A frown immediately fell onto her muzzle. “My face is up here," Shriker said flatly, her yellow eyes glittering dangerously for a second. “I think I should also take this moment to tell you rather bluntly not to expect anything from me. A few drinks and that's it." With that said, Shriker settled into a walking gait, heading back towards the downtown core. “Why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself as we walk," she said as she looked rather expectantly at Temyc.
"Im just a guy who likes to play music... Im training in it..vocally and instrumentally..i also play the classical bass when I dont feel like playing metal...classical soothes me....and I wasnt looking at your chest. I was looking at your feet." he looked away as he walked silently. It would seem odd..but it WAS the truth.
