1. Raruz had been searching the Janardan Academy for his classrooms, and had finally found the Astronomy room. Yay, now it was time to learn! He was an odd character, and some thought him even more odd if he wanted to learn something. But, he had this thing for the skies and the stars, so he just couldn't wait.

As he entered the auditorium, there were only a few others scattered about, some in groups of two or three, some alone. He found a comfortable seat in the back row, where he could see the professor without straining his neck to see over the other pendragon's heads. Plus, he wanted to sit alone for now. He'd meet others eventually, or so he hoped.

He took out a pad of paper, and his sketchbook(incase he had to draw something or got bored), and some pens and pencils. Now he was excited, being in a classroom with his supplies, and waiting for the teacher to enter. He took a pencil in his paw, and began drawing. It was just a way to pass his time while the teacher was away, or on his way.

2. \\ OOC: LOL, you ready fer 'im? Psycho Pen, comin' right up! XD

\\ IC

Penumbra Mithrah was teaching this class. Hm. Yes. Teaching. ... Really? ... Teaching? ... Someone must've got this wrong...

Pen leaps through the door, and slides across the floor, nails retracted, so he REALLY slid. Very fast. Wings were unfurled, and sort of trailing behind. All the way to the other side of the room, no less. You see, he had really picked up some speed.

Ricocheting off the wall, he leaps and lands in the center of the room, folding his wings at the same time. His whole expression read 'ta-da!', but that was to be expected. He was.. err.. eccentric with he was happy. Which was most of the time. And a daredevil, no less. Can't be an ace in aerobatics if you're not a risk-taker!

He takes a deep bow, looking to all the faces about, "G'day class! M' name's Penumbra Mithrah, call me Pen if it pleases ya, no use in all them fancy-shmancy titles!" a pause, "Nobody better call me 'mum', though, cause that happened last semester, and everything just got plain ol' silly." he shakes his head. Apparently, he was also prone to embelishments. The class was silly just with the idea of him teaching it!

He saunters over to the desk, and looks through the items already on the desk. Pointer.. slides.. markers for the board.. looks like it's all here!

He looks up at everyone again, huge friendly grin on his face - and genuine at that! Pen was wasting no time in getting started. Late comers would just have to pick up.

"Well, we're here for astronomy, right? So, lets start somewhere easy, you 'dragons know anything about the Ramathian moons? Shout out the answer if ya got a clue!"

\\ OOC: Anyone's welcome to join, and for info on the moons, check the solar system thread in the OOC general forum. ehehe! [IMG]

3. \\zrc(ooc)// Well, well. We have a teacher! Yay! Oh, I looked in the Solar System thread, and I couldn't find the names of the moons. Was I supposed to? XD I ask too many questions.. Fweet!

\\ic//
As the door flew open a few feet away from him, Raruz shoved his sketchpad beneath his writing paper. He thought it was the teacher, and was correct. He gave a small grin at Pen's aerobatics stunt, and nodded as he looked around the room.

He put down his pencil and picked up his pen, while raising his paw. Ramath has three moons, one deemed rescricted because of it's unstable atomsphere. He loved answering questions he knew, and usually tried at ones he didn't. That's just Ruz's way.

4. \\ OOC: Nope, no names, yet, I don't think. I'm gonna see about creating some constellations later today. hehe. [IMG]

\\ IC

Pen nods, pointing to the one who'd answered, "Very good!" he looks around at everyone, "We've got three moons, and the one is restricted due to a little.. accident." winkwink. "When you look up at the sky, you can see some of the bits of that moon floating 'round it's more whole self. Quite fun to lay about and put the pieces back in the moon with your mind." he smiles wistfully for a second.

He then looks back at the student who'd answered, "Oh, and, what's yer name?" He liked knowing the names of the more intelligent ones in class, so might as well start memorizing!

5. He smiled as he was complimented, and nodded as he was asked his name. Raruz Kilarei, sir. I answer to Raruz or Ruz, if you'd like to use either of those.

Yay, maybe he just made a friend with the teacher. Ah well, he always liked teachers best. They always knew when to listen, and when to talk; as he did.

6. Pen nods, saying the name once or twice. It was how he memorized things. Say them over and over to himself, and then he'd never forget them.

Penumbra whips around and trots over to the board, a very large white board. Grabbing a black marker in his right paw, he yanks the cap off with his left. Propping himself up on the wall, he stands on his hind legs, marking out the first constellation of many he would be teaching these students of his.

Underneath each squirrly dot which reprisented a star, he begins scribbling the names of each one near or around said dot.

He turns around, "This is the constellation Homsaj. Any of you Ramathian studied 'dragons will recognize it means 'Hunter'. Now, to the untrained eye, it really looks like a bunch of dots, doesn't it?" Pen looks at the board and scrunches his nose up.

He takes a red marker now, and starts doodling around the dots he'd put up. The finished result was a wingless pendragon facing left, and low to the ground, prowling.

A small dot for the nose was marked; Istel. The largest one for the eye; Yusol. A meduim sized one at the middle of the shoulder; Tuysa, and one not far off from that, at the bent elbow; Jiko. One small one was the front legs' outstretched paw; Oplen. The hips had three small stars in succession, curving down the backside of the hip, Rae, Rai, and Rao. Finally, two small stars, and one medium sized star made up the tail, the two small ones being the tail, and the medium being the flame, Adae, Iksh, and Aekhon, respectively.

"But once you use a bit of imagination.. it really does look like what it's supposed to." Pen backs out of the way, and waits a bit, allowing the students to either write this down, stare, or, well, snore softly in the background.

\\ OOC: Constellations [IMG]

7. Ruz plotted the stars quickly in a pad of graph paper he had stowed away in his bag, outlining it in red. He was an avid note-taker, and usually wrote down everything the teacher did, and most of what he/she said. He sat up straight so he could watch Pen more comfortably, and jotted down the star's names beside them as he plotted them. Yay, his very first notes from Astronomy class.

8. Pen pauses a moment to think, than adds, "Homsaj is also one of the more often seen constellations out there. You can see it best, though.. right now, actually! So tonight, don't f'rget to look up, and see if ya can spot 'im."

He continues, "Our lil' Hunter will show up in the northern hemisphere right now, in the beginning of Dyo, and the beginning of Tessera, when you're farther south. Oh; and the Hunter will always face left, so you can see where east is. Don't try plotting a course on th' bugger, 'cause 'e moves, but he'll still point to the east." Pen nods with a bright smile, and waits a bit for any questions, or note takings, before moving onto the next constellation for the class.

9. Hm.. that's interesting.. So he jotted it down beside the little 'bugger', as Penumbra called it. Well, he didn't have any questions as of yet.

\\zrc// Geeze, sorry for the lack of insparation.

10. \\ OOC: Dun't worry, I haven't forgotten this thread! [IMG] I'm getting together all the constellations everyone is giving me, then Pen can teach 'em. [IMG]

11. Eka, late again walked into the class and took a seat. She pulled out some paper and took down the notes that were already on the board. She was really looking forward to learning astronomy.

OOC: Is there a big difference in astronomy and astrology?

12. \\ OOC: To do astrology I'd think you'd need to know astronomy, since it's based off solar and lunar movements, so, while they're not interchangable, they're similar, and one works off the other. Astronomy is the facts side, astrology is the myth (and fortune-telling) side. [IMG]

13. OOC: Okay thanks.

Eka sat there taking down notes as fast as she could so that she wouldn't miss what the teacher would say next.
She put the pen down and looked up at the teacher with her gray eyes.
