Timestamp: Dyo 34, 81383 Who: Fautal Vliemd Wearing: simple pants and shirt IC: Fautal didn't know why he found himself in the Black Market anymore. He'd come here a few times, not out of a desire to be here but through some inner desire he didn't know yet. Whenever he came here he wore simple clothing in order to not draw attention to himself, he didn't want any trouble. If he must then he is able to protect himself, and since injuries seemed to be common and unquestioned Fautal reasoned that he would do what he could to make any thugs run off screaming for their lives. Only if he must, though, only if he must. Fautal walked along and found himself going to the nearest bar. Fautal didn't drink much, but when he came here it seemed to be expected of many. He sat down at the bar and ordered a drink while at the same time shoving off any of the harlots that he seemed to grab their attention.
There was only a couple reasons Temyc would return to the Black Market area of Bhim. The place was damp, cold, and unforgiving. One wrong slip, and your life could be taken through the soft flesh in your gullet. The people here were only about their own gains through thievery, con artistry, and even through murder. This place was not fun for a good person. But it was the only place the arden could make good money to continue looking, for her. The only true thing that mattered. But he did not feel like fighting in the pits tonight. Opening the door into the thick smoked atmosphere of the bar, he grimaced. This place was one of the few somewhat honest places left in the Market. The only real flaw it had was its whores. Lots of them. That's why there weren't any other bad things going on, all the trouble makers where distracted with the thills who where willing to pleasure them for a fee. Shrugging them off, he looked around to find a seat. Quickly, he noticed a familiar face. The same who helped he retrieve the locket wrapped around his neck, now with a rather heavy, and strong chain. He sat down next to him. "bartender...ale for the arden next to me...or whatever he prefers."
Fautal looked over to his side and saw a familiar face. He'd helped this one get something precious back. Fautal noted the locked on the arden's neck. "I see you put a little extra insurance that that locket doesn't fall off again. Who's picture is inside, might I ask?" Fautal said as he took a sip of the drink that had been bought for him.
Temyc removed the locket from his neck and stared at its closed form for a moment. He had looked at the image inside so many times before, he knew every little piece of it. Every detail, and imperfection. Finally, he opened it. Inside, an image of a Temyc was in there. But he was different, he was happier. His mouth had a grin full of laughter, his fur was a brighter shade of red and his eyes had so much life. Within his arms was a small pink furred infant thill who was looking up at him in wonder, and her hand was up Temyc's large nostril. Temyc's quiet days now had caused his lips to become to thin and almost never smile. He frowned at the locket, and looked at Fautal. "She is my daughter....she has to be about 2 or 3 now.... I don't know. She disappeared a while ago...with her bitch of a mother." He growled lowly, closing the locket and putting it back around his neck. "I'm looking for them....."
"Sounds to me like you are out for revenge against the mother," Fautal said as he sipped his drink. "I wouldn't recomend it, it can only awaken demons inside you." Fautal chuckled at the comment he'd made. It rang true for him in a literal sense. Fautal still held a deep hatred for an arden, but he didn't want revenge. That would only bring Fautal down to his level.
Closing the locket softly and placing it back firmly upon his neck. "Not revenge, no. Just want to know my daughter is ok. Possibly take her back home, with me. The mother has violated our agreements with her." He frowned, resting his chin in his hand upon the bar. "This locket is the only picture I have of me and her. My Ex-Girlfriend happened to take my picture album when she disappeared with her as well."
"That's a shame. I hope your search ends well. I myself plan to have a family sometime in my life. I take it very seriously, I just haven't found someone I want to spend the rest of my life with yet," Fautal said as he put his glass down. "The one thing that I wouldn't be able to stand is if I had a child and not be able to be a part of their life."
Temyc looked at him. "This child, is all I have......I miss her so much." He looked away with a frown, his lips quivering a bit. His hand balled into a fist and his tail twitched. "I never thought she would be such a blessing. I was only 17 when she arrived into my life, and even though it got harder with her around, I never regretted a second."
"That is good to know. When you do find her and if you are able to have her with you at least she'll have a caring father. Pardon me for asking though, but what kind of home do you have to bring her to. Do you live here? The Black Market doesn't seem like the proper place to raise a child," Fautal said.
Temyc opened his mouth the respond that he had a dorm at the academy, but..he left there a long time a go. He had been staying on couches, in cheap motels or where ever else was some sort of bed for him. Where would they go. He did save up some money from the fight pits. But how long can he keep doing that with a baby in his care. "I had not thought about it. I don't live here, Ive been traveling the world.....i guess i would find a place....I don't know. I didn't finish school so it would be hard to find honest work though."
Fautal thought for a moment to himself. "Actually, I can offer you a job. That is, if you have nothing against manual labor. All it would take is some in-job training and you'd be able to make a decent amount of money at it. It is how a few nioti have paid for their tuition."
He let this dance around in his mind for a moment or two, tapping his fingers lightly upon the bar. Consistent work was a good thing, and guaranteed money was also nice. He would sometimes spend an entire night in a fight pit and in the end up making nothing cause he got KO'd in an all or nothing match. Thats why he perfered to stay away from those matches if possible. Temyc made a slight smile and turned to Fautal. "What type of manual labor."
"I am a site director for an archeological dig site. All you'd be doing would be helping to haul equipment or actually doing some digging. Come to think of it, it isn't all manual labor. You'd help to analyze the artifacts that are recovered and maybe help plot out an area. So how about it, you interested?" Fautal asked.
Scratching his chin, he thought it over in silence for a moment. "I don't know anything about Archeology though...." his mind was asking itself questions back and forth. Could he trust a Arden he barely knew that he first met, fighting in a ring? But he did help with finding his locket. He winced for a moment, he did need this money. But that would mean the search would have to come to a slow. Licking his lips, then his mouth opened slowly. "Okay, I'll do it."
"Alright!" Fautal said, "The dig site is in the Machina Ruins. We've made a few discoveries there and I think I know who to put you with."
He raised a brow, and his tail wrapped around his chairs' legs. "Oh who? It isn't someone annoying is it?" ooc: sorry for the short post. you didnt give me much to work with there.
OOC: I know. I kinda hit a writer's block when I wrote it. IC: Fautal kind of chuckled at the thought. The 'arden that he had in mind could be a little annoying at times, but they'd been through a bit of trouble together. Fautal was thinking of his head of security on the dig site, Cathera. The short arden with the power suit as Fautal could describe him. Fautal had been chastised by him a few times when he got caught up in his work in a dangerous situation. Fautal smirked, "He is my head of security on the dig site. I think that you'd do well in that position. His name is Cathera, you'd do well not to underestimate him by his appearance though."
Temyc's lips pulled into a slight smirk, revealing some teeth, which was a first in a long while. "You know me, I don't under estimate. If i did, you would have had me on the floor in under 3 minutes in the ring." He ordered himself some water and began to sip it. "First thing I learned in school is that you never know somebody till your about to kill them.... anyone can do anything at that point. Summon a last moments fury to save themselves, beg for mercy even though they are hard as iron, you name it. Everyone is a shadowed veil till they know its time to release their soul, then you meet the real animal inside.
Fautal smirked at the thought of pinning Temyc down that quickly in the fight they had. Fautal was brought to another thought as Temyc said you don't know someone entirely until you bring them to a point of utter desperation. He knew this all to well when he had his encounter with Xavius. It brought out some inner emotions that would best be left locked away inside. When his desperation was great enough it allowed a demon to possess his body and take over his mind. It required many weeks of therapy in order to rid his mind of the burning inferno of anger and hatred that were left behind after his possession. "I know of that all to well. I had an experience like that, except it was me who was bout to die," Fautal said in a quiet tone.
Temyc frowned. "an egg never knows the color of it's yoke till it's shell is broken." His brow furrowed and he yawned. "workigg in be pits I learned who I was many a time. It is a frightening thing to see and feel. It's also not great to watch someone beg for their life......" He frowned and silenced himself.
