OOC: I must say, this is the first time I made a post this long. Timestamp: Mia 49 81382 1:30 PM Who: Flayra Zazkex Wearing: Pink short sleeve t-shirt and gray long pants. IC: The school was overrun with students, going here and going there. The atmosphere around the Academy was of fragrance in the air of lavender and roses. The scent, almost hypnotic. One student, about seven years old, was walking on a path way from the library to the classrooms. She walked a fair distance and ought to take rest at a nearby chair. She came upon one and sat down. Flayra was enjoying the fragrance in the air that was in the Courtyard, with the help of lavender and roses. The green eyed nioti stared at the the roses that to the left of the chair and also saw many colored butterflies fluttering around from rose bud to rose bud. I wonder, if a butterflies beauty is eternal or can be taken away in a blink of a eye, she thought while watching the the different colored butterflies. The breeze was both calm and pleasant. It surely helped to move the fragrance around, so it can get to the closest town. Flay closed her eyes for a split second then opened them again to observe the butterflies again. One of them fluttered over to Flay, flapping its wings to stay afloat. Flay reached out her right hand so the butterfly can rest on it. As it landed on Flay's hand, she felt a little tickle. Flay gave a faint smile, then looked at the ground. She thought about the butterfly's beauty being eternal or can be taken away. Flay looked back at the butterfly, which was slowly moving it's wings. Flay then gave a curious, yet sad look on her face. The butterfly was getting ready to fly, until....... Flay decreased the temperature on her right hand to -100 degrees Celsius, freezing the butterfly in solid ice. She left her hand motionless then drawn her fingers in to shatter the ice encased butterfly. She crushed it while saying these word, "I guess it can be taken away in a blink of an eye." Flay opened her hand up to see nothing but shards of the ice encased butterfly. She gave a faint frown as she rotated her hand 85 degress left with the shards sliding off her hand and onto the paved footpath. She drawn in her hand and placed it gently on her right leg.
Jaceen took a lurching, awkward step as she re-adjusted the bag that was slipping off of her right shoulder. Within the bag were several books packaged neatly alongside a slim laptop. It was a heavier load than she ought to be carrying, however, she reasoned, it was only going to be for a short distance. Although age separated her from the students meandering around the courtyard, Jaceen's visage blending right in amongst them. Swaraj was a wondrous place. Culture, history, a place to have a quaint bite to eat. If you were looking for something, you could almost always find it in Swaraj. Not only that by the weather around Watani, Janardan in particular, was relatively tame. Not too many wicked winds. Just the right amount of rain... and spring. Even though it was the end of Mia, spring was infringing and now in charge of the elements. Jaceen breathed in deeply, enjoying the moisture and perfumed scents on the breeze. It was as she was walking along one of the paved pathways that her attention was drawn to a small niotie. Jaceen would have passed her by without so much as a second glance, however it was the girl's company that kept her eyes stick on her for just a few moments longer. The niotie was surrounded by a small cluster of butterflies and from them she had singled out one particular specimen. All seemed right, until the butterfly froze and broke into lifeless shards of ice. Briefly Jaceen felt heartache, as if somehow that insect had been a sibling of hers. Pushing those intruding feelings aside, the bright yellow thill walked up to the girl. “Ah," she murmured softly, shifting her bag once more. “What a deplorable death for a friend. May I ask why you did that?"
Flay was looking sad when she looked at the shards, so she stepped on the shards, but still was sad. She was feeling lonely because her friend went back home and her brother was at the NRF. She started kicking her legs. "Ah." Flay looked up and saw a yellowed pelted thill holding a bag. “What a deplorable death for a friend. May I ask why you did that?" Flay looked down at the ground to see the shards again then back up to Jaceen. "No reason, I guess. I get lonely most of the time because my brother is at the NRF and won't be back for six months." She was looking even more sad. She had her Luna Crest around her neck, she gave it a light squeeze, then let go. "My ice ability, I ask myself if it's a gift or a curse." Seeing the butterflies fluttering around her and Jaceen, she continued, "And a butterfly's beauty, is it eternal?" Her head was filled with questions and it was hard to ask them.
The young thill's answer disturbed the kiom to some degree. She'd taken a life, albeit a small one, for no reason at all. A life was a life, even if it was insignificant and meaningless to some. Of course, Jaceen could relate to some degree with the girl's loneliness. “He'll come back though," Jaceen said with a smile. “That's what brothers are for. I'm sure you've got other friends aside from your brother. With so many pendragons around, it's a wonder that some can still manage to feel lonely." “As for magic, dear. It's a gift. There aren't too many that are naturally gifted with the ability to tap into Fronima so easily. All it takes is practise to master. Like all things do." Jaceen's bag was starting to weigh quite heavily on her shoulder now, so she slipped it off and let it lay against her right foot. “A butterfly though... yes, they're beautiful. I guess you could call its beauty eternal. However, they represent much more than that. Change, hope... the sort of things that make the world a better place."
OOC: sorry about the wait. IC: “He'll come back though," Flay felt encouraged when Jaceen comforted her with those words.“That's what brothers are for. I'm sure you've got other friends aside from your brother. With so many pendragons around, it's a wonder that some can still manage to feel lonely." She raised a paw, pointing two for her fingers up and showing it to Jaceen. "Two. I have two friends and one's in Chafuo and ones somewhere in the school," She smiled. "And your right, that's what brothers are for, coming back. He's always there for me.". “As for magic, dear. It's a gift. There aren't too many that are naturally gifted with the ability to tap into Fronima so easily. All it takes is practise to master. Like all things do." When Jaceen started talking about magic, Flay looked at Jaceen with her leaf green. "For someone at my age, it wouldn't be that easy, yet I can do it in a click of a finger." Her hand was exposed, so she pulled out the glove out of her pocket then put on. "The odds of someone born with the gift of tapping into Fronima that easy is a million to one. Me and my brother are able to and probably 40 others are able to aswell." Flay reached for her Luna Crest to show Jaceen. "This here is what helps me tap into Fronima properly." “A butterfly though... yes, they're beautiful. I guess you could call its beauty eternal. However, they represent much more than that. Change, hope... the sort of things that make the world a better place." Flay looked at the butterflies near the roses then back to Jaceen with a smile. "I guess your right." She then looked at the shards of the butterfly she froze. "I don't hate butterflies, I just lost myself. I do that sometimes."
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>S'okay. :] I'm quite slow as well, though should be faster at replying this week.</td></tr></table> Jaceen smiled at the mention of the girl's friends. There had been a fleeting moment when Jaceen had felt that the girl would sadly proclaim that she had absolutely no one. What a horrible position that would have put her in. Of course, it wasn't that talk that intrigued Jaceen. It was the talk about magic and Fronima. She'd always been drawn to that sort of thing, ever since her own childhood and experimentations. The crest that the girl held up was an artefact of some sort, although to Jaceen it really didn't look to have much value. It seemed like a trinket... though more than likely it was some sort of family heirloom, so the sentimental value would probably make it worth that much more. “I bet," Jaceen began slowly, “that you don't even need that old relic in order to channel your magic. I bet that you're just as talented without it as you are with it. If you can believe that you are, anyway. My name's Jaceen, what's yours? I don't believe I have you in any of my classes."
Flay saw that Jaceen was examining the Crest carefully. "I bet." Flay looked up at Jaceen with her leaf green eyes as if she knew what Jaceen was going to say. “that you don't even need that old relic in order to channel your magic. I bet that you're just as talented without it as you are with it. If you can believe that you are, anyway." Flay looked back down at her Crest, loosening her grip then releasing it. "This isn't an old relic or artifact. This has power in it that can be used improperly." She stopped to take a breath and shifting her eyes down then to the left. "if someone wanted to destroy the world." She continued sarcasticly. "I, however, can use it for other purposes, that I prefer to keep to myself. Actually, this is just one half. My brother has the other. This is the Luna Crest, his is the Sol Crest." "My name's Jaceen, what's yours? I don't believe I have you in any of my classes." Flay smiled at Jaceen then replied, "I'm Flayra, Flayra Zazkex. I haven't been in any of your classes, but I was thinking of taking one of your History classes."
Jaceen shrugged her shoulders plainly as if to say if that's what you think. It wasn't that she entirely disbelieved Flayra. It was the fact that she felt something perhaps a little sketchy about the crest. It seemed more like a crutch than anything else. A magical crutch. “That's interesting that your brother has the other half. I bet that they make much more sense when they're together. It's a pleasure to meet you though, Flayra. If you're interested in History of any sort, I highly recommend that you sign up for a class. Most do find History rather daunting... as there is quite a lot of it. Each day that passes becomes another page, another chapter."
Flay thought that Jaceen didn't believe her, so she tried to show her. "I can show you." She held up her Crest. "Shield Beyond Sight, Never Failing Light." She chanted in a kind of rhythm, then her and Jaceen were surrounded by a ball of light for two seconds, then vanished. "Surprised?" She then let go of her Crest. "It has lots of other abilities, but I must find out myself. Another ability is that it will resonate a light if the Sol Crest is near." “That's interesting that your brother has the other half. I bet that they make much more sense when they're together." Flay grinned at Jaceen as if she was right. "Yes they do when together. The powers of the Crests combine. I know, it's kind of weird." "It's a pleasure to meet you though, Flayra. If you're interested in History of any sort, I highly recommend that you sign up for a class. Most do find History rather daunting... as there is quite a lot of it. Each day that passes becomes another page, another chapter." Flay smiled at Jaceen. "As it is a pleasure to meet you. Actually, I am interested about History, so I'd be glad to sign for a class." Flay disagreed with Jaceen about History being daunting. "I wouldn't find it daunting, I would find it interesting.
Jaceen had been the witness to many formidable feats, the production of light really wasn't all that surprising or new to her... but for Flayra to accomplish? It certainly was an awesome feat. Though Jaceen felt that she could still maintain that high level of magic even without her crest. “Very good." “I'm not too surprised that they combine powers. My own brother wasn't really into magic much himself, but whenever he was around, I always felt that my own magic somehow doubled. Almost as if just being near him gave me an unconscious boost..." Jaceen shrugged her shoulders. “If you really do find History interesting though, you should come. It's guaranteed that you'll learn something... or end up having a nice nap." She laughed. It certainly wasn't uncommon for students to fall asleep during her lectures.
After the light disappeared, Flay saw that Jaceen was a little suprised. For a girl of seven to use a high level magic like that was like... impossible. "Very good." That's what Jaceen said to Flay. Flay gave a light smile at Jaceen's supporting words. "Thanks." “I'm not too surprised that they combine powers. My own brother wasn't really into magic much himself, but whenever he was around, I always felt that my own magic somehow doubled. Almost as if just being near him gave me an unconscious boost..." Flay was suprised at Jaceen saying she too had a brother. "Oh, you have a brother. I'd be glad to meet him." “If you really do find History interesting though, you should come. It's guaranteed that you'll learn something... or end up having a nice nap." Flay gave a light laugh. "I don't fall a sleep during a lecture. Only at night"
“Oh..." Jaceen's smile faltered for a moment. She'd gotten a little careless with her words it seemed. “I'd love for you to meet him, if it were possible that is. My brother passed away quite a few years ago. Though I'm sure he would have loved to talk to an entertaining girl such as yourself." Jaceen laughed quietly. “That's good that you only fall asleep at night. Sometimes, and only sometimes, those that fall asleep during my classes are woken up with a small electrical shock." The Lapices thill raised her right index finger, from it a small spark crackled, not too unlike the sort that a person gets from static-filled clothing.
Flay smiled at Jaceen but turned it to a frown when Jaceen said that her brother died. "Oh, I'm sorry." Flay looked down at the ground then back Jaceen. "How did he die?" she asked her in a curiousity kind of voice. Her hair clip was out of line so she fixed it up. “That's good that you only fall asleep at night. Sometimes, and only sometimes, those that fall asleep during my classes are woken up with a small electrical shock." Flay laughed, "Well, I won't be falling asleep, thats a promise." Flay thought for moment then said, "You'll find me live and awake, listening to History."
Jaceen unconsciously twirled a finger into her red hair in a nervous sort of gesture. Not many pendragons asked her about her brother. Jaceen herself wasn't even sure about the exact circumstances of Saber's death. She had only been able to get so much out of Koani concerning the situation. Saber was a dangerous topic to discuss for the two thills. “Thanks... he died... well, I'm not exactly sure how. It didn't happen here and it was quite a while ago now. Though I'm told that he died while protecting his wife from harm." Jaceen said with a tentative smile. Saber was the honourable sort, and he had been hopelessly in love with Koani. It seemed plausible that he had given up his life for hers. "If that's a promise, then I might have an attentive audience for once in my class," she said with a small laugh. “I think it'd be a pleasure to have you stop in sometime."
Flay saw that Jaceen was unhappy about something, mabye mentioning about her brother. She saw her twirling a finger through her hair, she was unhappy about something. Mabye I shouldn't said anything about meeting her brother, Flay thought guiltily. “Thanks... he died... well, I'm not exactly sure how. It didn't happen here and it was quite a while ago now. Though I'm told that he died while protecting his wife from harm." Flay understood that, then she thought mabye that's why Jaceen was disturbed. "If its bothering you, we can forget we even talked about it." "If that's a promise, then I might have an attentive audience for once in my class," Flay also gave a small laugh. “I think it'd be a pleasure to have you stop in sometime." Flay nodded, agreeing with Jaceen about her offer. "If you're having one tomorrow, I guess I can make it." Flay then gave Jaceen a mild smile, slighty showing her teeth.
“Ah, no." Jaceen said with a small shrug. “It's just not every day that I get to talk about him." Aside from Koani, there weren't many people that she spoke to Saber about... and Koani didn't always wish to hear what she wanted to say. Despite all the time that had passed, it was still an understandably touchy topic. “He was a great arden, really. It's too bad you couldn't have met him. He was always really interested in individuals who had creative and inquisitive minds... he used to answer all of my questions after all." The last sentence Jaceen uttered with a laugh. She had asked so many questions in her youth, it was a wonder that they hadn't taped her mouth shut. “As for a class tomorrow... I'm afraid not. The next one is on Fespui, well, the first of Dyo, and in the morning, anyway. Does that make it too difficult for you to attend?"
“It's just not every day that I get to talk about him." Flay was surprised that Jaceen doesn't talk about her brother much. Flay talks about hers all the time, about his treasure hunting, alchemy and his time here at Janardan. Flay just said to Jaceen, "I talk about Pendzez all the time. About his Treasure Hunting, his Alchemy and his time here at Janardan, not to mention his girlfrined, Jynx." “He was a great arden, really. It's too bad you couldn't have met him. He was always really interested in individuals who had creative and inquisitive minds... he used to answer all of my questions after all." Flay looked down at the ground, the shards of the butterfly catching her attention. She stopped looking at them then drawn her attention back to Jaceen. "Too bad, yes. I would have like to meet him. Answers to all your questions? Well, a brother knows best, or is that a mother knows best? Oh, never mind." “As for a class tomorrow... I'm afraid not. The next one is on Fespui, well, the first of Dyo, and in the morning, anyway. Does that make it too difficult for you to attend?" Flay looked at the sky, trying to think for a moment. "Well, I can make it then. My diary says I'm not doing anything then." He attention was drawn by the clock tower. "Well, I must get going, my brother says he was going to call soon."
“Oh!" Jaceen said, she had lost track of time during their conversation. Jaceen had things to do after all, as was evidenced by the bag of books that she still had lingering around her feet. “You'll have to tell me more about Pendzez sometime then. I'm sure he's a great guy." “Fespui is okay? I'll make a note of it so I'll remember to expect you," Jaceen said as she followed Flayra's gaze to the clock tower. It was getting to be quite late in the afternoon now and Jaceen had still pretty much gone nowhere with those books of hers. The sun kissed yellow thill bent down and heaved the bag back over her shoulder. “I look forward to seeing you then. Keep on practising that magic of yours in the meantime. It's a precious gift that can only get better with age and fine tuning."
“You'll have to tell me more about Pendzez sometime then. I'm sure he's a great guy." That was very agreeable, Pendzez is a great nioti. Though young for his age, he had abilities that include flames, the sun, and heat. "Yes, he is great. I'll tell you more about him later." “Fespui is okay? I'll make a note of it so I'll remember to expect you," Flay smiled. "Yep, that will do nicely." Flay stood from the seat, taking a light stretch. “I look forward to seeing you then. Keep on practising that magic of yours in the meantime. It's a precious gift that can only get better with age and fine tuning." Flay nodded as she turned to the direction of the dorms. "I'll see you then. I'll keep practising too. See you later" She turned then walked on the path, turning around to wave at Jaceen. OOC: I'm done. Until next time we RP with them again.
