Most dorms wouldn't even have a bathroom inside of them. Instead they would most likely use sort of a common lavatories attached to the halls. That doesn't mean that some dorms wouldn't have their own private bathrooms though. Think of it as a sort of luxury.

Since Janardan is a very modern school, they have lighting, running water, environmental controls, etc.. As for appliances being in dormitories, they should be okay. What machina are, at least here on Ramath-lehi, are machines that use a special form of modified magic as a power source. So that means that they don't use traditional electricity.

As for power sources, I suppose depending on the model of the room, there would either be a sort of electrical outlet your character could use, a machina outlet, or even both. So it's really up to you. I personally would think it could be a sort of funny situation if the character just had an electrical outlet.

But or course, fridges, stoves, televisions, radios, and other small appliances would be okay. Since pendragons were aware of Earth, it is most likely that pendragons have "stolen" and echoed a lot of their technology or even improved on some of what they saw. Appliances such as fridges and stoves would not really be necessary since there is a cafeteria and other places in which to get food around the Janardan campus.
