Despite its name, Manik meaning "gem", these swamplands are far from being a gem to many. Most Pendragons see the entire area as a death trap to any poor soul that ventures in. It is filled with slick mud, sink holes, bogs, flaming plants, hostile monsters and deep gullies. The area isn't too densely populated, mainly because the ground itself is unsuitable to build on and to dig in, yet some dwellings here have been made above ground using plants and other materials that have made it into the swamplands. Even though it's a constant threat, there have been a few that have learnt to live in this wet (and not to mention a little smelly) area. It is the perfect place for that young thrill-seeker...
