I am new to the site, but not to the furry community or to roleplaying. I am very Interested in what may come out of me during my time here. Anyway, I am usually not accepted into many groups because my interests usually lie elsewhere, but I am willing to expand. Some of the roleplaying games I have played are: Battletech/MechWarrior (before and after the Clans came into the game), D&D, Palladium/Rifts, Star Wars, and a multitude of online ones. I've got accounts in DeviantArt, SoFurry, and FurAffinity, but because I'm not a very good artist haven't really got anything posted that I can call my own. Mostly I've just been critiquing and commenting on the stories, music, and art that people do. On that note, music. I'm interested in three kinds of music. I listen to renaissance (I think that is how you spell it), rock (like Blue Oyster Cult and Styx), and the electronic genres. I'm an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy. I just finished a book of the Man-Kzin Wars series. Other than that I am a calm person and not one to get into arguments if I see it going too far early on. And that is me. Also, I did check the character races, but I was wondering If I could make a bird-(falcon)like character, with no wings and arms and hands like the feet. This is just a racial question. If I cannot do so, could you recommend something else? For my initial Primary Trades I was (for whatever character I create) wanting to be schooled in Judo/Dancing/Acrobatics and have Secondary schooling in Aerokinesis/Music/Illusion. And that is all I've got to say.
Hello and welcome! :) It sounds as though you've got quite the roleplaying history and ties to the furry community. That's pretty damn awesome. As far as race suggestions regarding bird-like features: I'd recommend creating a Lukuo. It's possible for them to have pretty much any feature that you can imagine, and bird-like limbs fall well within that (and would actually seem like a fairly tame mutation).
Thank you very much. I will see to it right away then. I hope to be able to incorporate myself into the world as soon as possible.
Welcome to Shadowlack Zentrakendyre! (I may just call you Zen in the future =p ) You've found an excellent place for your sci-fi / fantasy interest to meet!
Thank you. And, yes, you may call me that. I know the name is long and very different from the norm, but I'm okay with that.
By the way, is there a subject I could combine the trades I would like to have into one each, or do I have to choose out of them?
You may only pick two character trades upon character creation, so you unfortunately cannot combine them like that. You may however try to create a character occupation/job title that attempts to combine them all. :) Perhaps "Illusionary Performance Artist" or something like that?
Thanks again, but can I have more than one occupation? That one included of course, cause I can work with that one.
Yep, of course! Your character is allowed to have as many titles, professions, and odd jobs as you feel is possible. :)
Then I'll add the Illusionary Performance Artist and make it so my character is in the process of making a martial arts training dojo that is made partly like the dojo in Kung Fu Panda and with my own ideas.
Nope, there's no minimum age. A character may be magical from birth, develop it at a later age, or have no magic talent whatsoever. Non-magical characters are often called "nullfires." Generally characters become better at performing magic as they age, as they develop stronger connections and hone their skills. :)
Another question. (I know, I ask lots of questions.) What kind of music is available to this world? Is it the same kinds as ours? Im asking this because I was hoping to use psytrance or some other electronic music for my character creation. If I cannot use that, just list the kinds of music I can do. The music will affect my character's dancing and Illusionary magic.
Questions are good. :) Any kind of music. You're free to make up your own band as well. We currently have a few that have been created by other players. Chaos Theory - Shadowlack Codex Parallax - Shadowlack Codex Phatharla - Shadowlack Codex
When casting magic of any sort, do you have to be stationary to cast, or can you be mobile while casting?
You can be mobile. I imagine though that if it's complicated magic, you'd likely want to be stationary in order to improve your concentration. I'm pretty sure my message count is going up. :)
