  1. ((OOC: Ok, just a little idea here... I have a plot in mind :P Yes. Silly newbies.))

    Day: 13
    Month: Mia
    Year: 81378 (4)

Heat thermals rose in invisible pillars over the vast, endless golden sands of the Pwa Desert. Beneath those thermals lay death on the baking sands, death among the dried-up carcasses of unlucky explorers or exiles condemned to die. Just thinking about it made Alec Veja'Sereg's mouth feel dry as paper. The young pendragon glided over the sands on outstretched pinions, barely flapping as heat columns lifted him up, higher, higher towards the burning sun. Sweat made rivers of sweat run through his now near-white fur, but the wind sailing across the tops of his wings cooled him down somewhat. At least he wasn't down there.

He didn't quite know what had brought him out here, of all places. He'd been exploring the area, down by Magi lake earlier in the month. That had been a paradise, and he'd even choked down his fear of swimming to take a plunge in the crystaline water. It had felt good, and if he had a chance, he would go again after he had finished here. A drop of cool water would feel wonderful right now. For a moment he considered landing to take a rest and drink a bit from the cantine strapped between his wings, but he quashed that idea quickly. Taking off would be more difficult, and he didn't want to burn his paws.

Sighing slightly, he flicked his pinions and wheeled around like an eagle, turning back towards the relative safety of the desert's edge. He didn't want to risk getting stuck out here, so thirsty he couldn't speak, so tired he couldn't fly. He would continue his expedition on the morrow, when he had more supplies and a better idea of how far the desert stretched. At least there were thermals to keep him aloft, and he didn't have to waste much energy in beating his wings. That had been the problem in flying over the forests on his native isle of Bhim - the steam rising from the treetops would cling to his feathers and make gliding difficult. He would sit for hours atop his house, wings spread like those of some great ugly buzzard, waiting for the dewdrops to dry. Well, there were no dewdrops here.

Alec seemed to fall into daydreaming, allowing the formless landscape beneath to pass in a flowing golden ocean. He'd seen nothing but sand for hours, and his eyes continually lost focus as he tried to pick out signs of fauna below. Thus he almost missed a break in the monotony, a small, broken square of red brick sticking out of a dune below him. It did manage to catch his drooping eye, though, and after a moment of consideration, he wheeled once more and dove towards the abberation. His curiosity had gotten the better of him.

When he landed, the first thing to catch his eye was a small golden symbol attached to several of the bricks. It looked like a simple sphere, bt upon closer inspection he noticed that a myriad of shapes had been etched into it, like continents on a globe. He forgot the aching heat for a moment to puzzle over these symbols, and the construction of the square of brick. It looked like a foundation of some sort, but it was so covered in drifting sands that he couldn't find the floor or any other indication of what it had housed. Finally the heat broke through his investigations, and with an annoyed growl he took off again. He would figure out what those bricks were, or get extremely aggrivated trying.

    ---

A few hours later Alec was taking his rest at a local watering hole a few miles from the desert edge. He still felt like he had an entire sandbox in his throat, but at least he'd been able to wipe the sweat from his eyes. He curiously looked around the bar, the beginnings of a plan forming in his mind. Perhaps he could find others willing to take a chance and find out what lay beneath the foundation, and what that strange sphere symbol meant.

  2. ooc:sorry if this is not good this is my first time

It was a hot day by the edge of the dessert and he was bored out of his mind. Nothing was here that interested him and his life quest was not anywhere near here. But Skalrock is not going to leave here with nothing. So he continued to walk.

After a wile Skalrock was about to go home but then he saw someone that looked like he needed help. So he went over and asked" it looks like you have something on your mind friend care to tell me about it?"
