Who: Calcifer Blazer Time: Tria 29 81382 1:00 PM Wearing: Blue long legged pants, and a burgandy short sleeved shirt. He is wearing his usual blindfold. IC: The afternoon of the day in the City of Aurius was somehow pleasent, though the domes are underwater. With music and singing in the backround, it would make it more enjoyable. One Khellin sat in a cafe, that was open for sometime, and was drinking a cup of coffee and reading a very interesting book. Though he was blind, his inner sight helped him see the words in this book. He had his ears percked up as he heard the words of the song that playing. The singer was Sarah Gojgla. As the song played, Calcifer continued to read his book and listen at the same time. It wasn't really hard. As Cal looked upon the clock to see what the time was, it stated 1:00 PM. As the song went on, Calcifer begun saying to himself, "Another hour has past." He looked up at the roof, staring at nothing.

It was underwater and really pretty; you'd think someone who hadn't been here before would be a little unnerved at the water surrounding the domes and the odd sealife swimming past uncaringly. Just as indifferent about the place as he was. Gunner didn't know what possessed him to come here; maybe he was just bored and wanted to explore the one place he had yet to come to. But as usual, it was boring, even if it was dazzling and pretty. He wasn't much of a fan for beautiful things; he didn't really care about them. He stuffed his hands into the pockets of his black jacket. which was unzipped enough for you to see his favorite necklace around his neck and placed precisely at the middle of his collar bone. His pants were ripped blue jeans and today he was wearing black leather boots. His tail flame was in between a lighter and darker color and the silver base spread through more of the flame than usual. Gunner strolled into the cafe and ordered a mocha, casting a quick glance to the blindfolded arden... who was reading a book. Well that just looked stupid. But whatever. He turned around and took his drink and began sipping on it absently, tail flicking behind him. I created the Sound of Madness. Wrote the book on pain. Calcifer percked his ears at the sound of an ardan that came in. Cal took a breath before looking at the ardan. Just as soon he rotated his head, the waitress came to the table. "Are you finished if that, Cal?" Calcifer turned his attention to the waitress with a polite reply. "Yes, thank you Jezza. Could I have one of those small cubes of lamington please?" Jezza, wearing the official cafe apron, smiled at the Khell. "Sure. Be right back." As Jezza walked off to the counter to put the mug in the diswasher and to get a small cube of lamington, Calcifer turned his attention back to the ardan that came in earlier. However, he was starting to get uncomfortable with the blindfold, so he took it off, revealing his sapphire blue eyes with the topaz pupils. Ever since the accident, his eyes remained those colors, notthing could return them to their original state. With a sparkle of them in the light, he turned his gaze towards Gunner with a friendly, "Good afternoon."

Today he wouldn't mind having anyone to chat with, and luckily he was in that kind of mood cause the guy with the blindfold spoke to him. Without moving to look at the guy, he replied. "Yo." His voice came out deep and gruff, but somehow smooth. After sitting there a moment to sip his drink, he looked back at the other arden, tilting his brow at the odd color his eyes were. Well, at least he took off that silly blindfold. Common sense told Gun that the guy was blind since he was wearing it, but still... "Why you hidin' yer eyes behind that thing?" he asked, saying more to this guy than he had said to anyone else this month. I created the Sound of Madness. Calcifer looked from Gunner to his blindfold, then back to Gunner. From te sight of the blindfold and of the color of his eyes it should have been clear that the Khell was blind, but Cal thought that the ardan was not familiar with people being blind. Mabye the Khell could shed some light on the subject, but by the appearance of Gunner, he looked like the kind of pendragon that wouldn't care about it. However, Gunner asked about the blindfold. Cal gave a calm and simple answer. "It's better than wearing those dark glasses. I'm hiding my eyes. Besides, I don't wear it all the time. I can't leave my eyes behind a piece of cloth." Jezza soon after came with a small plate with the lamington and a fork. She carefully placed the plate in front of of her brother. "There you go, Cal. One lamington," she playfully said when she gave Cal a few pats on the back and walked off. The Khell looked at his sister as she placed the lamington in front of him. With that there, he smiled, "Thanks, Jezza." As she walked away to the counter, Cal took the fork and used it to take a small bit of the lamington, and ate it.

Anyone else would've thought twice before complimenting a complete stranger, but being apathetic came in handy. You didn't give a shit about anything. "You got some special skill that you can see with?" He already knew the answer, since the guy was sitting at a table reading a book and he didn't carry around a seeing-stick or anything. Not every blind person was lucky enough to have the skill this stranger had. Gunner looked at the girl when she came over to give the guy whatever he had ordered, staying quiet as he turned back to his drink and sipped at it. He tilted an ear towards the other, giving him a sidelong look. "Cal. Short for Calcifer?" Curious question. He already knew he was right. "Name's Gunner. You can call me Gun." I created the Sound of Madness. Wrote the book on pain. Calcifer didn't know what to say. Did Gunner really find the Khell's eyes pretty or was he just being nice? Either way, I didn't bother him at all. Instead, Cal remained calm as a soft gentle breeze. "Well, sometimes I wonder why myself too." Then came about how is it he could see. He had Inner Sight, but his was more advanced, like he could really see reality as he once saw it. In some ways, he was similar to the terran Marvel Comic Character, Daredevil. Same incident, but different chemicals and sight. "Greatly developed Inner Sight. That's how I see. When I look at things, they look realistic, but they're dark silhouettes of black tinted with white. All I know is what they look like, not the color." When Jezza got behind the counter wiping the top with a damp cloth, Calcifer looked at Gunner after Gun asked about Cal's name. The Khell didn't know how he knew his name. Cal thought that Gun thought it it short for Callie. It was... spooky. "Yep, that's right. How did you know?" Then Gun introduced himself with his name and a short way of saying it. Calcifer smiled at the ardan's intro. "Nice to meet you, Gun."

That the darkest hour never comes in the night. Gunner finished off his mocha and set the empty cup on the counter. If he hadn't been talking to Cal he would've left all ready, but this conversation wasn't boring like most tended to be. It wasn't every day he met a blind guy that could still see thanks to his handy inner sight dealy. "That's quite a skill," he replied, turning to look at the other more. "How'd you learn to do that?" It baffled him really. How does one get inner sight and teach themselves to use it? Hell if he knew, but he'd find out if Cal wanted to answer. He decided to order another drink, this time some coffee, just to keep himself preoccupied with something while he chatted away with this guy. "I'm good at names," Gun replied monotone. It was easy for him to figure out a shortened name and tie it to the person's full name, something that came in handy to surprise strangers. He gave a nod to the arden, "Likewise. Where you from?" I created the Sound of Madness. Wrote the book on pain. Somehow I'm still here To explain.

Cal was happy at Gun's compliment. He had a highly developed Inner Sight someone else probably didn't. He was lucky. "Thanks. Um, when I was young, I was born with this secondary sight that only took affect when in the darkness. Gave me the abilty to see in the dark. After I became blind, that sight took over because everything would have been so dark. So, secondary sight took over." Calcifer then started to think if he was annoying Gun with his chattering. If he was, then mabye he should take it easy. Well, Gun seemed good at names and Cal was good at seeing, though blind. They were both good at something. "Well, that's interesting. I should also say that with my secondary sight, I was also able to feel others emotions and feelings. An effect of the sight." Then came the question about where Cal was from. From the appearance of Cal, it should have been an easy thought that he was a Khellin, and they're only originate from one place, and that was Trilok. "I'm a Khell from Trilok. Me and my sis, Jezza."

That the darkest hour never comes in the night. God that sounded cool. To be able to see in the dark. It must've come in handy a lot; he wouldn't mind having a skill like that. "I suppose not many're born with a skill like that." He said before continuing to sip on the coffee. He didn't like coffee but you wouldn't know by the stoic expression on his face as he was drinking it. But Cal wouldn't really know that either so it didn't really matter either way. He was about to say something else when Cal spoke again, drawing his attention. That was something new to him as well as this weird secondary sight deal. He didn't know whether he liked the fact that Cal could feel others emotions; he was amazing at hiding his emotions through his stoic expressions but that didn't mean he didn't feel anything at all. Right now he didn't besides a little discomfort, but he guessed this other skill let Cal be pretty empathetic. As they chatted on, their differences were becoming so painfully obvious; they were pretty much polar opposites at this point. Gunner shrugged off the statement before turning back to the counter. "I never been there before," he said, yawning after the statement. His ears flipped back with the effort before they came forward again. I created the Sound of Madness. Wrote the book on pain. Cal saw that by the expression on Gun's face that the seeing in the dark thing was cool. To Cal, it was a gift. Many would probably do anything to have such an ability. Unlike the Khell, there were some that stayed in the dark or in place where there is no light for their eyes to develope the ability. They should know something that idiotic wouldn't work. Besides, many people don't always come back out of the dark. The gods know what lie in the shadows, waiting for something to come by. Calcifer, however, was lucky enough to be given such a blessing at birth. "Yeah. I know some even do things idiotic and dangerous to gain the ability. Hanging around in the dark, but they should know, not many come back out." The Khell turned his head to face Gun, who was drinking coffee. Cal knew he was going to say something, so Cal asked, "Oh, sorry. What were you going to say?" Cal looked to find that Gun looked a bit uneasy about Cal feeling others emotions. Cal didn't mean feel them, but sense them. The secondary sight sent like frequency signals that picked up emotions. He had to be close enough, though. Not to far away. Then Gun said that he never been to Trilok. Well, that didn't bother Cal. In fact, Cal wasn't really expecting to say he's been. "Oh, that's ok. No real need to."

That the darkest hour never comes in the night. Gunner didn't really think much more about the guy's handy ability to see in the dark, or see at all since he was blind. In fact, he was already a bit bored with that; surely Cal had some more interesting things that he could do. Or something. The other spoke again and he listened as he drank his coffee now like it wasn't hot, which it wasn't to him even though it was still steaming. With another sidelong glance, Gun answered, "I don't remember." He figured it would be cool to somehow 'gain' that nifty ability, but he didn't think there was a way to do it, and if there was, he was too busy with spellcasting and pyrokenisis. Clearly, Gunner was getting terribly bored, because the next thing he did, as he was running a finger along the rim of the cup holding his scolding coffee, was create a little orange fire around the whole rim; but it was small and the flame danced excitedly above the rim. Then he just poked at the flame with the same finger, making it turn green. "I been a lot of places... just haven't made the time to travel there. I figure it's just as bare as Dhruv. What part're you from?" I created the Sound of Madness. Wrote the book on pain. Cal looked at Gun as he didn't what he was going to say. Calcifer thought he did remember what and just chose no to say it. It could've been embarressing, or mabye he just didn't want to say it. Either way, it didn't matter. Cal didn't really mind, just a thought mabye. "It's ok." Cal looked at the table, then out the door looking at the marine life swimming by. If Cal had a wish, it would be free. "Have you ever wondered what it would like to be free as the wind, not affected by rules, Gun?" Another question was again at the Khell. This time about what part of Trilok. As far as he knew, it was a small pack near the Adamaint Ruins. He didn't much of the details, but his sister did. Fortunatly, she heard the question and answered for Cal, "We lived in an isolated tribe near the ruins of the former Adamaint Empire. Not a place to travel to in the Mia season. Very big blizzards. We Khellins, however, found ways to survive it." Cal listen to Jezza, then turned to Gun when she finished. The question was answered, and Gun knew. "There you have it," he said calmly.

That the darkest hour never comes in the night. >>Correct me if I do the payment thing wrong, first time dealing with money here on the forum. xD Gunner grunted deeply, giving Cal a few more minutes before he decided whether or not he'd leave yet. A few minutes or a few seconds, either way, he had a short time. But maybe he'd just leave anyways, he'd had his fill of company today at least. Curiously, Gunner tilted a brow at the question while turning slightly to look at him. "No. I'm already like that," he said with a shrug, sort of in a matter-of-fact tone but sort of not. He was just saying.
The arden turned his gaze over to the thill who'd answered the question for him, not that he minded. "Oh." Yea, he was so talkative. Seriously Gunner, give them a chance to talk. Without saying anything else he stood up and grabbed his Khorta card from his damn empty wallet that he kept in his back pocket, offering it to Cal's sister, his stoic and bored expression changing to one that was more friendly but unreadable for whatever reason. I created the Sound of Madness. Calcifer looked at Gun as he mentioned that he waas always a free spirit. Cal was sometimes like that, but not the way he used to. He was mainly working and trying to find a man. Mabye he had to give up on working hard and try to find someone. Well, mabye he was trying to hard. Cal thought that Gun was alright, but he looked like one of those who prefer to be alone, not caring about things. "Well, that's good to hear." Cal started to look kinda downish, somehow depressed. Jezza came along and took the card that Gun handed to her. She was going through the proper things to do with the card until she looked at her brother. "I'm starting to worry about him. I'll tell you this. We had an older brother who was Cal's hero. Cal always looked up to him. Anyways, Cal said to him that he was gay and he always said that be gay is alright, it just what makes you who you are. Ok, he gave him a that spark of what he is right. He kept sustaining it by saying to Cal that someone will come by. However, he died in an accident a 14 years ago. Since then, I've been keeping that spark alive, but I can't keep it up forever. I want him to find someone that will love him for who he is and, also, help sustain his spark." Jezze just sort of wondered off in the conversation. Pretty soon, he came back looking at Gun. "Um, I don't why I told you this. I'll tell you now, you look like a guy that doesn't care about things. No offence."

That the darkest hour never comes in the night. Of course, Gunner didn't even seem to notice that Cal seemed to get down about... something. It was only natural that he didn't notice. He was just patiently waiting for her to finish up so he could leave and get back to his life. Before Jezze even started speaking, Gun's expression went from kind of friendly-ish back to stoic and somewhat irritated, flipping his ears back. Sob story time. But instead snapping and asking her to finishing with his card so he could go, he stood there politely and listened even though he was growing sick of her voice. The arden crossed his arms and stared at when she spoke, his expression remaining the same and the flame on his tail turning darker. What sense did it make for her to tell him all that, anyways? Fuck if he knew, but it was a big damn waste of his time. Was she trying to pass Cal onto him to deal with, or what? Did he even look interested in the least? No. "If I look like a guy that du'n't give a shit, why th' hell did you bother wasting yer breath tellin' me that?" He didn't sound angry or anything; his voice was monotone, but he still wanted to know what possessed her to waste his time. He knew he probably pissed her off with his indifference, but did she expect more out of him? I created the Sound of Madness. Wrote the book on pain. Calcifer ears perked up as he heard Gunner's language towards his sister. Cal didn't think that was a good thing to say, but he was worried about Jezza's response. Last time someone did that, he ended up hospitalized for a month. Jezza just froze, but wasn't affecting by Gunner's response. Jezza didn't like being talk to like that. Last time, he went crazy and hospitalized an ardan that did that. She leaned carefully on the counter with her eyes set on the lukuo. She just stared at him without blinking, having a bit of angry look, but more of concentration. "Wanna speak like that again?" Then the sharp knives' holster started shaking as the knives just lifted themselves out. They flew up beside Jezza as she continued to gaze at Gunner. Cal saw what was happening and had to stop her before she hurt Gunner. He bolted out of his while, "Jezzabel Cof'yre Blazer, drop the knives." He saw she didn't drop the telekinetic power she was using. "I said drop them!" Pretty soon, Jezza put the knives back then stopped her telekinetic ability. She turned her head to Cal. "He shouldn't have used that language near!" Cal wasn't really happy with her response. The last time, the ardan was inflicted with sharp knife cuts. They were bad enough for him to hospitalized. "You should learn self-control." He went back to the table, got his stuff, and was about to walk out. "I'll see ya later and try to control that ability. You know what happened last time." He then looked at Gunner as he said to him queitly, "Nearly cut the guy to shreads last time. See ya." He then walked out the door, turning left that led to the teleports.

After all, he didn't really say anything bad unless she thought common speech were all cuss words or something. Anyone else would've been intimidated by the floating knives, But Gunner just gave the thill a very incredulous look, tilting a brow upward as if trying to test her, but he said nothing more since he had nothing more to say. He didn't really have to do anything anyways because the girl's brother stepped up to make her put down those stupid knives. Granted, those knives could hurt him bad but he knew how to fight and had his own pyrokinesis skills... good thing she didn't throw one of those at him or he would've burnt her to a crisp and thus making Cal an enemy. He took it upon himself to reach around and grab his Khorta card off the counter and stuck it back in it's place back in his wallet and placed that back in his back pocket. Turning, Gunner was about to make his leave and Calcifer made a comment to him. Watching him walk out, the arden cast an indifferent look back to the thill before heading out himself and going the opposite way than Cal. I created the Sound of Madness.
