It is not based on any existing fandom (Harry Potter, Dune, Pern, etc.), nor does it fall into common roleplay themes (wolf, horse, teenager, supernatural, etc.).
Because of this, Shadowlack tends to require some effort (yuck!) on the part of new players to familiarize themselves with the game. Many potential players find all of the content very intimidating and tend to get cold feet when it comes to immersing themselves. It's not unheard of for new players to simply lurk our Wiki for several months before deciding to join. ;)
Rest assured, you do not have to learn everything before attempting to join Shadowlack. Simply familiarize yourself with the Game Guides and try to find a few things of interest in the Wiki.
